It’s hard to please my friend because she is an Executive Chef. Whenever we come here she is delighted !
My fiance and I really enjoyed this restaurant. I had seabass he had 160z NY strip. The lobster Mac n cheese was delicious as well as the brussel sprouts with bacon dessert was also delicious but I guess I misunderstood when I asked if they did something special for birthdays and they said yes and I was given a menu to choose and was still charged. Other than that we still liked it very much
Amazing food and service. One of my favs for dinner in the city.
Our servers were excellent. Very attentive. The food was delicious. I especially liked that they paid attention to my food allergies.
I did not like the seating arrangement. It was difficult to have a conversation without feeling others were listening... which they were. We could hear their conversations as well.
We will return but will ask for different seating arrangements.
Celebrated my 50th b-day with my teen daughter. Oysters, clams, crab cake, lobster, etc etc. Very expensive, but absolutely outstanding! I will be back for more. GREAT GREAT GREAT!! ♥️
AMAZING Ribeye. We highly recommend the Owner’s Salad...no lettuce, just chopped seafood tossed in a citrus dressing. And the sea salt chocolate cake...........
Daughter’s birthday 🎁
Celebrating 25th Anniversary Pre broadway show. Food was excellent as usual. Waiter forgot he was serving us. Waited for check over 15 minutes. Had to flag down another employee to ask if we were allowed to leave. After paying bill and retrieving checked coats. An anniversary dessert was dropped at our table as I was leaving. My wife was already waiting front and had left the table. Last 3 times at Hunt/Fish was a wonderful experience. Not last night.
Beautiful setting, interesting menu, delicious food and attentive service. We were there for a pre-theatre dinner and had a relaxed, enjoyable time. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Fabulous food and exceptional service! They somehow knew it was Bday and brought a special dessert!
A repeat visit to the Hunt and Fish Club did not disappoint. This restaurant has been amazingly consistent and always appreciate the prompt service that allows us to make an evening theater performance. The branzino fish was well prepared and seasoned. Really enjoyed the meal and environment. This is a true “go to” restaurant when visiting NY.
The food and the ambiance is wonderful. However, a restaurant like this deserves a better sommelier.
They have a decent wine list, not too long or anything. So I would definitely expect the sommelier to know all the wine on the list. We saw a Sangiovese from California and as a winemaker from the old world, I was quite interested to taste it. So I ask the sommelier, very specifically, how would he describe this Sangiovese comparing to a Chianti (very classic Sangiovese and should be a good reference). He threw few sentences in there talking about how special the soil is in Chianti(yes, special was the word)and avoided to say anything about this Californian region. Then I politely asked again, how would he compare the two styles? He said this is definitely fruitier... which yes that’s an general rule of thumb for many Californian reds, and anyone who knows something about wine would have guessed. At that point I figured he hasn’t tried this wine before... my friend didn’t pick on that and asked how would he describe the tannin. (It was a 2018 and we were worried the tannin would be too rough.) He said a little bit rounder than a Chianti. That sounds pretty perfect for our steak so we decided on that. And, here comes the wine. If I got this in a blind tasting, I would say that it’s a rose rather than red. It has almost no tannin, extremely light body. And, yes, that’s not all, it was lightly effervescent! I agree it is a fruity wine but the fruity in the sense of a rose not a red. It tasted like a cherry soda! I have no problem with this wine if I were having brunch on a Sunday morning or during a light lunch along with a simple salade. But not with the lovely juicy steak they serve here! It was my friend’s birthday and we didn’t want to make a scene. So I talked to him when he walked by, politely telling him that we are not going to send this wine back but we just want him to know how this wine really is. His answer: but it was fruity right? Disappointed
Beautiful restaurant, and personable and attentive staff immediately set the stage for what turned out to be one of the finest dining experiences I have ever had. We pored through many desirable menu choices while enjoying terrific popovers. Each of my party of 4 raved about their meal. Looking forward to my next opportunity.
Great service and great food!!!!!
Mathew and Julia were our impeccable servers. They were on top of everything. Mathew made some wonderful suggestions and was a perfect host. Our 36 oz ribeye was cooked to perfection. We chose asparagus and truffle tots as sides. We would not get the truffle tots again as they were not as flavorful as we had anticipated and just did not amuse our pallets. We also had the Cesar salad and French Onion soup; both were marvelous. The Careless Whisper was a delightful cocktail; light, crisp, quite enjoyable.
Food was subpar. Service was extremely slow for a slow lunch service. Much better options in the neighborhood for the $$$$.
Nothing to brag about. The place is beautiful but that’s about it. From hair being in my food to them rushing back a medium well steak and burning it, to the waiter bringing out a birthday cake not lit then dropping it and mac and cheese too burnt on top, I seriously wished I made another selection so my husband could’ve had a better birthday.
Food was good. Air was blowing down and chilled the family and cooled the food. They were out of the first wine we ordered but did have the second. The waiter was awesome and was very knowledgeable and professional.
Love the atmosphere and restaurant's decor. I had the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle and my friend had the Swordfish both cooked perfectly. The pasta was fresh and I love the rich black truffle butter sauce. The swordfish sauce was light and so flavorful. I look forward to coming again when I'm visiting Times Square.
From beginning to end is was a very pleasant experience!
Service was amazing. Everyone was attentive. Brian, the manager, was engaging and friendly. They even brought us out an anniversary dessert on the house. Pricey but well worth it for a special occasion.
Very friendly Staff. Prices are good and the Food is the best you can get in my Opinion.
Food and service were both exceptional. One of the best meals we have ever had.
The bread is insane as is 20 layer cake..
Loved the swordfish and truffle fries
Great food and drinks, attentive and friendly waitstaff, and they even brought out a platter of desserts for my brother’s and dad’s birthdays! Thank you again for the wonderful experience, we’ll be sure to return!
Food was amazing. Ambiance and lighting on point. Service was pleasant. Had the steak and branzino. Sauces are amazing.
Ambiance, decor and the staff was super friendly and personable... 5 star for that!
Music was a bit loud and my lobster with stuffed crab meat was very small and not as tasty, way too much crumbs on stuffing! Dessert was awesome!!!
Trendy, not stuffy at all! Great place for a date or with a group of friends.
Have been several times, and each time, the experience gets better. Great people welcome you with great food and service.
First, this restaurant is beautiful. Second, the food is amazing. We started with salads, which were fresh and very good. I had the local fields greens with balsamic. The salad was made with strawberries and almonds and the dressing was delicious. One of my favorite balsamic dressings ever. My husband had the three leaf Caesar, which was also very good. He thought it was overdressed, but that might be a personal taste. We shared the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle, which was amazing. The truffle butter was very prominent, so I loved it. My husband wasn't as much a fan, but I thought it was perfect. The pasta was so fresh and delicious. I had the bronzino and my husband had the sword fish. Both were perfectly prepared and very tasty. We both thought our dishes were excellent. We shared the crispy lemon potatoes, but we were so full, we only ate a few. The bread was delicious and the service was beyond excellent. The glasses of wine were perfect pairings. The manager stopped by to say hello and I can't wait to go back. Next time, I wouldn't order so much as we were beyond full and we couldn't order dessert. The desserts looked amazing, so next time I hope to order dessert.
I eat out at many restaurants entertaining clients as well as family dinners. The Hunt and Fish Club was one of my favorite places to dine and Nelson was a fabulous host. I am looking forward to booking my next client dinner there.
Went w party of 6 between Harry Potter performances on Saturday. Hostess asked if we had show to get to and they delivered to ensure we were done at the correct time. Server was exceptional (unfortunately cannot remember her name). Food was delicious and perfectly cooked. Lobster cocktail, burrata, bisque, bone in ribeye, veal chop, filet, stuffed lobster plus dessert all excellent. Cocktails and wine. Overall not cheap but on par w other NYC steakhouses. Ambience a more cool, trendy vibe w music and a bit of glitz vs stuffy oak paneling. Younger crowd. Would return.
Good food great service a little pricey but well worth the experience
Gorgeous restaurant, service that cares about every detail, & a menu that makes classic dishes interesting, flavorful, and unforgettable, like the octopus with chilis and potato, gnocchi with lobster, & those truffle tater tots with your steak entree.
Steaks were as good as it get. Superb salads and sides, too.
Best meal I’ve ever had. Steak & steak sauce was phenomenal! Thank you for the hospitality!
I loved the elegant feel of this place. I’ve been to many places but nothing compares to this gem. It really felt like having dinner under the stars, perfect mood to celebrate my wedding anniversary. Service was outstanding, the food was amazing, I can’t wait to come back to try more dishes. Ps. I’m not a Mac and cheese kind of person, but I’d become one just for the one at HF!
Amazing, from start to finish! The food was delicious, drinks were amazing, seafood was beyond fresh, and the steak!!!! Tender, juicy, and flavorful. — this restaurant remains my absolute favorite! An experience like no other! — and Matthew was absolutely amazing! He made us smile, and laugh. Very attentive and on point!
Thanks Hunt and Fish!
My husband brought me here for my birthday. We love Hunt and fish club. The ambiance was gorgeous, they played music and the food was phenomenal. My husband had a boneless ribeye and i had the sea bass. We both got an additional stuffed lobster with a side of mac and cheese and spicy broccoli rabe. We are still talking about the food. The only thing I was confused about was the menu said one price and the bill said another and i didnt realize it till later.
