Staff was excellent, Christina Lee great hostess.
good food as well, contributed to making our anniversary very special.
This venue was one of the best fine dining restaurants I’ve been to. Apart from the 32 oz ribeye for two made with the house A2 sauce on top of rosemary thyme lemons and garlic or the clam linguini in white wine topped with thinly sliced garlic shavings and we can’t forget the Mac and cheese with bacon bites,
The hospitality was A1! From the hostess, to the bartenders , servers and managers, we felt at home! We are very eclectic people and felt very warm and not stuffy! We love fine dining but not at the expense of feeling uncomfortable. That wasn’t a problem at Hunt and Fish.
My husband and I celebrated his birthday with a 24 layer chocolate cake and carrot cake to LIVEEEE for lol
We are newly weds and new parents going out on date night here was a breathe of fresh air! Can’t wait to go again!!
I feel terrible writing this review. However, this is the only way that something would most likely be done to fix the problem. Where should I start? Ok, let’s start with the most important, food. The food was overall too salty (literally). We ordered several appetizers as we normally do to share amongst each other. We ordered the lobster bisque (it is a tradition for us to order it). It is was “Ok” does not compare to Lure, Del Friscos or L’bernadine’s (are more rich/creamy and moderate pieces of lobster inside). We ordered Atlantic oysters-no complaints. We also ordered the Beef Carpaccio- it was sliced so thin we could not even taste it or for that matter pick up from our plate. We ordered the crab cakes - regular- not fresh as expected ( the orange sauce made it taste better). We ordered the octopus salad - on the salty side. Now let’s talk about the SIGNATURE SALAD!!! - a regular romaine lettuce salad ummm we were all shocked at the table. My friend could not even finish it because it was not eatable - too salty. We ordered the crab legs - also salty. My friend couldn’t finish it either. They pretty much had a salt party in the kitchen before bringing plates out. The manager came out to try and fix the situation, but damage was done. OK, now that I have vented on all the things that went wrong, the one thing that was great- the Branzino and mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, I would not be returning to this place.
Beautiful ambience food was excellent service superb
Too noise and high price, but we already knew that. Filet Mignon suggested
Great steak and sides with a cool atmosphere. Complementary popover bread. I was nervous about a bottle of wine being out of our price range but they had bottles starting at $50 (although few) but many great selections in the under $90 range. Highly recommend if you are in NYC looking for a fancy dinner.
We tried the Hunt and Fish club on our way to see “Anastasia” and were thououghlly happy that we did! The staff was accommodating and efficient, the manager, Tina, went out of her way to be helpful and the chef, Chad Brown, made a special entree for my wife without batting an eye. The food quality was excellent and the wine list impressive. We certainly recommend the restaurant and will return!
Jimmy and Catie Brown
I wish we'd gotten names to thank the staff here. Food recommendations are spot on. Filet mignon was incredibly tender and the scallops were amazing, both as promised. We were told the sides fed two people. Our mashed potatoes are enough for four. Dessert was decadent and delicious. A random choice for us, it was absolutely worth it.
I previously dined at the restaurant for lunch and had a very positive overall experience. When I realized that the show I was seeing was located practically next door, I was excited to return to the restaurant- my first impression was even more positive this time. Not only is the restaurant very pretty, the food, service and overall ambience were fantastic. I recommend the restaurant unconditionally and cannot wait to visit again.
Pop overs I love
They were ice cold
65 dollar steak
Comes with nothing they even charge extra for the sauce buckle and dine you
Food warm not hot
They make a good Martini
Ate for a Business dinner and it was definitely an off night. Service was slow and there must have been a fire in the kitchen, as the fire alarm kept going off and the whole dining room filled with smoke. Food was very slow to come out.
The main entrees were delicious and cooked to perfection.
The appetizers and go withs were a bit skimpy.
The real issue was a sort of sketchy service. The male bartender was very impressed with himself and could not be bothered with us. When our table should have been cleared, it wasn't. Then the food arrived and everybody had to juggle dishes. No one, either at the bar or the table, introduced themselves, except the sommnelier.
We had a great time and enjoyed the food and the wine that was recommended. Just didn't get a good vibe from the service staff and bartender.
Great food and service
I have eaten dinner at The Hunt & Fish Club several times. It’s one of my top go to restaurants in the city. For this type of restaurant the interior design is quite beautiful. Whether your a meat or fish lover everything is always consistently delicious. Each dish is prepared in a unique manor. I had the scallops that were amazing, my friend had the swordfish that was great. My husband always has steak and says that their steaks are delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
excellent food, service and wine list - will be going back
Great personal service and attention to detail. All main courses were great.
It was a perfect evening. We enjoyed having Franco. I’ve been before and will return.
Management and staff were awesome. It was my wife’s birthday and while it felt like the folks went the extra mile it was obvious they treat everyone exceptionally well.
The food was amazing. Everything was so fresh and well prepared. Our server was so nice and informed about the food options.
Lovely room, food was delicious, good choice if going to the theater
We ordered the 42oz Porterhouse for two. Perfectly cooked however, on the sirloin side, quite a bit of fat to cut around, that said the pieces once trimmed were delicious. On the filet side however, was quite a bit of the filet that was very chewy. Not what you think of melt in mouth filet. Every animal is different of course and they were extremely apologetic and tried to make up for it with free deserts etc. The individual steaks on the table next to us looked amazing. So we just caught one bad porterhouse cut. All in all thought, a much different take on steakhouse with wonderful service.
I came to Hunt and Fish club for my Birthday dinner and it was everything I wanted to to be. Food was great, really big portions or side dishes, could share. Overall amazing experience.
Visiting from Los Angeles. Based on Open-table reviews I thought we would try it. Pricy but you get what you pay for. My daughter had the Salmon, loved it, my wife and I split the Tomahawk Ribeye, fantastic taste, cooked to perfection. Service also outstanding. Plus a beautiful restaurant to dine in. Definitely we will go back on our next trip. Highly recommend.
The service and ambiance were very good the food very average.
I had the brazino and couldnt be more disappointed in the size of the fish. It was merely an appetizer.
Great venue for a date, menu is strong and the service stands out as some of the best in the city.
Great food! Friendly staff! Ambiance was great. No complaints here!
Hunt & Fish Club was recommended by an NYC local, and it didn't disappoint. My wife and I enjoyed a well serviced, and well prepared meal for our anniversary. Not necessarily classified as traditional romantic (not a quiet, cozy spot), but we found the energy, ambiance and excitement before our Broadway Show was perfect for us. Tables are seated close together, so be aware of listening in on others conversations, but the background music/conversations still allowed us to communicate quite easily still. Very accessible to the Theater District, and the staff was keenly aware of ensuring we were in and out in time for our show. Food was prepared to our requests without any issue.
The atmosphere was cozy and romantic. The decor is impeccable and fancy. The waiters and waitresses were welcoming and politely. While our waiter was nice, he did forget to check up on us a few times due to crowdness of the restaurant.
Beautiful decor, my server was amazing
Coffee eclairs where delicious and lobster and caviar gnocchi A1. Thanks to the Chef!!
Very nice and friendly service. Greatly timed before theater.
Great spot. Cocktails, food, service and ambience were all on point. Well done Hunt and Fish!
Amazing food; service was spotty. Expensive but, fine for special occasions
We arrived to NY much later than anticipated, but we were graciously recieved for our 9:15 reservation. Most restaurants make you feel as if you're inconvienancing them with such a late seating on a week night. We had the chefs seafood salad ceviche, swordfish and salmon. All perfectly cooked. Our waitress recommended a fantastic wine to fit our meal. The creme bruleed cheesecake and deconstructed carrot cake were to die for!
Decor was beautiful, service was superb (waiter was hilarious).
As a self named epicurist, this restaurant gets a 4/5 from me.
The bone in rib eye was a bit too charred for medium and lacked flavor. The pork chop was extremely salty, however,
the truffled tater tots, creamed spinach, lobster bisque and iceberg salad were amazing.
Food was moderately priced. What we lacked in flavor was made up for by our waiter's personality.
Just order the tater tots. Trust me. The food and ambiance cannot be beat.
I had the most romantic, and Spectacular evening when We celebrated our 10th year anniversary at HUNTS& FISH CLUB. The overall experience cannot be compared. Our waiter J .... (can’t remember his name) and the general manager Brian. Made our evening memorable one we will never forget. The character and atmosphere of this place was pleasing, the service was impeccable, and the food was preeminent. That’ was my third time there and It will be continued. I have visited 118 restaurant around the NYC area and This is my best-loved in all aspect. Thank you Brian and J . It’s is already a week and we are still talking about our time spent at your restaurant.
The food was amazing and the service(loved our waiter) was great. Who can ask for anything more. We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and look forward to returning soon.
The wedge salad was good, not great. Ribeye was AMAZING. Truffle tater tots we're also very, very good. I would definitely recommend this place for it's food to anyone.
I went for Restaurant Week in the middle of August and he air conditioning was broken. It made the meal very uncomfortable, however the staff was great! They comped our drinks to compensate. The food was just okay and did not wow me. Maybe different selections would have been better.
