Wow! What a lovely surprise! The food is unique and amazing. The portions are large so we brought home enough for another meal. We loved the ambiance, especially the pianist playing all evening discretely. Evidently, they change the menu monthly which is rather unique. If you are looking for upscale dining with an extensive wine list, give this place a try! We will be back again!

Just what Escondido needs, a quality restaurant and recognition to the city. This will be my new spot for fine dining.

Our experience was disappointing. Staff was great, fun attitudes but our waiter needed more training. Had no idea what wine to recommend for my entree. We preordered the night before because it was NYE but waiter had no clue what we ordered. After giving our entree orders again he brought me the wrong one. The appetizer was good. The meat entree I had was over cooked. We waited for a long time for our desert course which never did arrive. The manager gave us a gift certificate in apology. This restaurant has potential but really poor execution.

I think it is the best restaurant in North County. It is much better than Addison's. The only problem is its small size, which can make reservations hard to get. But, oh so worth it.

Hunsackers on Grand in Escondido was absolutely the most fabulous Christmas dinner with friends I could imagine! The wine list was very impressive and the gorgeous glasses our cocktails were served in, plus the very helpful, creative and well informed bartender started us out with happy attitudes. And I knew from the taste of the homemade dinner rolls that arrived immediately that the rest of the meal was going to be a real treat.
While they do have al la carte options, we chose from their fixed-price three course specials and if any of the six or sever choices weren't enough, they have upgrades (like a 3 lb lobster for around $80 in addition to the price fixed option we chose). But their portions were very generous and gorgeously served and I can’t imagine how one could consume those upgrades. To start with, I had The Best Portabella bisque of my entire life as an appetizer and the Christmas salad was the most attractive salad I’ve seen in this entire last year (and I’m a huge salad fan). For an entrée I chose the land and sea which featured a Wagu New York strip cooked to perfection with a scrumptious bit of sauce on the top and a perfectly prepared lobster tail. The owner suggested, as we were all ordering the three-course meal, that we eat and share one dessert and take home the worlds most amazing bread pudding! This was a really good idea because we could not haveaten another bite after we put our forks down and the soufflé for dessert with dark chocolate cups filled with vanilla cream and orange cream and chantilly to pour into the soufflé was mindbending delicious!.and while it was a bit more than we spend if we go to say, Vintana‘s, it was amazing memorable stellar food, atmosphere, service and an always everything we could’ve wanted for a special Christmas dinner. I can’t recommend this place highly enough and I left a review on yelp if you want to read more details. But treat yourself and your loved ones this year I can promise you won’t be disappointed!

Some delicious classically French food. The staff was quite friendly and very attentive. The bartender went out of her way to find me the glass of wine I really wanted.

Only downside was the lack luster ambiance. Very bright lights.

Service started a little slow. There were maybe 4 tables seated when we arrived. There were about three wait staff and a bartender, but it took about ten minutes for someone to take our cocktail order. After that it was smooth sailing, with delicious drinks and food. We had the nightly pre-fixe menu and everything was over the top good from the crab cakes to the beignets. Looking forward to returning.

We were seated right away and greeted at our table right away. We were seated in front of a keyboard player playing Christmas songs and with my husband having a hearing problem this was a little awkward but we stuck it out. The food was amazing and the wine list was long. We were there for our anniversary. The only complaint, really, was the Christmas “beingets” were sugar donut holes…

I have long been a fan of Vincent's, so when they rebranded as Hunsacker's, I had to go. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there, and the food was outstanding! Service was impeccable, and the ambiance was exactly what we'd hoped for. We are so lucky to have such a fine restaurant in Escondido, and it remains one of my favorites!

WOW. I have been following this place on Instagram for a while and I’m so glad I finally made my way in. I did a four course tasting menu. Each course was delicious and presented beautifully. One of my friends got the whiskey flight and they had a brand rep there to talk about each of the different whiskeys. None of us had been and we will for sure be back. Hidden little gem in Escondido!

This restaurant is a new gem for Escondido, and for San Diego county. Chef Hunsaker is truly a 5 star chef, and it shows in every edible creation of his. Starting with superb cocktails, and finishing with OOTW souffles, we have been here 3 times and EVERY time it had been one of our best dining experiences. The prix fix dinners are very good values. We will be returning many times, and will be sending our friends here. Bravo to the entire staff and especially to Chef Brandon Hunsaker!

What a hidden gem! Pricey, but the food was absolutely delicious! There were 4 people in our party, we all ordered different items. EVERYTHING was perfect! Served hot and flavorful! Interesting mixes, ie: venison served with the best French toast I’ve ever had!

The cocktails were all great as well!

The waiter seemed a little out of his element, but it was fine. The food made up for some service issues.

We had a dairy allergy in our party and the chef was able to prepare the perfect meal for her.

Live music and fun risqué decor.

Will definitely be going back.

This is the old site of Vincent’s. I was a little unsure at first, it’s an upscale restaurant and the servers are all wearing Halloween costumes, was a bit unexpected. The food was delicious and the portions were very ample. We should have taken the desserts home, but everything was so good, we couldn’t stop eating! Everything was a 2 or 3 course menu option. I had the Beef Wellington, which was my first ever Beef Wellington, I’ll say the bar has been set very high, it was amazing! My husband had the lamb, it was equally delicious! Cocktails were very good as well. We will definitely be back, but will likely take something home, because we were stuffed when we left!

The service was great. Had an expensive bottle of older wine which they put into a decanter automatically. Also they kept refilling both the wine glasses and water showing interest in show we were enjoying meal. Past meals always meant onion soup for me, but I gambled and went for lobster bisque. What

The food was absolutely to die for - so delicious! Can’t say enough about the food - I had the duck tamale, beef Wellington (done to perfection) and the carrot cake for dessert. My husband had the lobster bisque, beef Wellington, and some type of pear tart for dessert. The portions are large - I brought have of mine home which the staff boxed for me. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to go back.

It is quite an experience to find a supper club, anywhere, and here is one right in Escondido! I enjoyed the Sunday evening supper club experience, which was expensive, but if you come prepared for that, you will find it very enjoyable. A magician moved from table-to-table, and his moves were truly magical and mystifying. The food was exquisite, more-than-enough so you can take home a bag to enjoy the next day, and is prix fixe for the supper club evening (a fixed price for a pre-determined meal). All of the staff are very attentive and personable. The background noise level was very low, which means that one can converse quietly without shouting. The restaurant is open other times when it is not presenting the supper club experience, and I will be returning!

We sat outside which is makeshift based on Covid and not so nice. The food was average at best and absolutely over priced! The service was awful! The interior is much nicer but I will never return again. We were going to see a show at the performing arts center, next time will eat somewhere else in Escondido. The quality of food and the service are a mismatch for the premium prices.

Unfortunately between the four of us, not one was happy with the food. We stood in the cramped doorway (in the way of others) waiting for our table which was empty and we had reservations. It took at least 15 minutes get menus and take drink orders. Then another 15 plus minutes to get our drinks. My girlfriend hated her $16 cocktail and didn’t even finish it. Said it tasted like club soda. My martini was fine, however it was not even 3/4 of the way full. Our friends martinis were also fine but they did mention the bleu cheese stuffed olives tasted briny like they had been sitting in a jar, not freshly stuffed. Ordering was difficult because the food and cocktail menu didn’t match the menus offered online and we based our entire reservation around the online menu. My GF found absolutely nothing she wanted so she ordered a lamb and butternut squash appetizer as her main course. I suggested she have a salad as well so she ordered the “Fancy Ceasar”. Our friends ordered a four course tasting menu. I ordered the rack of lamb. They brought crab dip and soup all at once for our friends and the Ceasar for my GF. Our friends liked the soup (we did not) but found the crab dip to be fishy (we agreed). The Caesar salad had a chipotle smear with chipotle peppers, maybe five croutons and was not good. When the main courses came out, everything was over cooked. We all ordered medium rare steaks and rack of lamb however it was all medium and medium well. One of the steaks tasted like fish, at least two were cold and two plates were sent away virtually uneaten. My GF said her lamb was OK. Our friends proceeded with dessert which was also just OK. The whipped sour cream was odd. In the end the place is very small, service is mediocre, food and drinks aren’t up to par and they have no problem making you pay full price for a meal you don’t eat. Under the old ownership we used to dine in weekly. Unfortunately we will never go here again.

I would really want to go back as I feel the potential was or is there for a better experience. Service was extremely friendly, the food selection was good but very much on the over the top and rich side (That goes more for the crab dip starter that impacted my main course). My steak came out cooked correctly but cold but I would rather eat it than complain and deal with it at the table. The key lime & kiwi desert was great! The $40 bottle of wine was good quality and even better price.

Small things prevented five star ratings but at these prices there is no room for error IMHO.

We went for restaurant week so the menu was limited. We sat down and no one even acknowledged us for over 15 minutes. When we finally did order a drink, it was over 30 minutes before we ever received it. The food was amazing, the duck tamale was so good that a few of us just want to return for that. The entrees were good, and the desserts were amazing! Good portions for the money. I would recommend this place, but just have patience as I think they are very short handed.
We would definitely go back, the Chef is very creative, both with the dishes and the drinks.
