Hunsakers was great. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch! We will be back!!
We have been going to Vincents for years and years, it has always been a favorite go to for our family for special events. This last visit was wonderful, they are mixing things up since the death of Vincent himself and something like that could go terribly wrong, but i am happy to say they are pulling it off and only improving it. The cozy ambiance of the interior is not as prevalent in these times, as they cannot use linens or have many tables inside in the interest of safety, but thats hardly noticeable. The menu they have now is fantastic! There is one with the classics Vincents is known for and there is an additional menu (other side of the classic one) that I could have ordered at least 10 different items from and would have been excited to try them. I had the stroganoff, and it was amazing, the steak in it was the most tender i have ever had and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. I loved it. My husband had the chicken pot pie (all scratch made) and he devoured it, my son had the halibut with lemon cream sauce and mashed potatoes and raved about it as well. The only negative to the evening, and this is minor and may be beyond the establishments fault, was it was very warm inside as no air was on...this did make it a bit uncomfortable for us, i cant imagine how the servers running all over the place felt...overall though, out of over 10 years of eating at Vincents, this meal We had on Saturday was my FAVORITE i have ever enjoyed there and i am excited to go back and try more....
Took a chance on this one because we really ant something a little closer to home. We were delighted with our experience. Although the staff is a little rough around the edges in appearance, they made great suggestions & did a great job, even recommending that we share a bowl of soup instead of ordering two. Good call! It was huge. But that bowl of soup was an inspired creation. Seriously, get the squash soup. I had the fish special & my wife had the duck. Both were outstanding! So happy to discover this place so close to home. Will most definitely go back. If you haven’t eaten there, it’s worth the risk.
This is a great spot. Food is excellent and the service was impeccable. They were compliant with all the current rules and regulations due to the pandemic. I would highly recommend this little gem.
We have dined at Hunsaker's at Vincent's for many years and always impressed with the quality of food and professional service. Definitely a five star restaurant even in Covid times.
We were anxious to try Hunsaker at Vincents. We were not disappointed. The decor is beautiful and elegant with lovely colors. We ordered the crab cakes for our appetizer and they were seriously the best I'd ever had. They were full of crab and were accompanied by a delicious sauce and deep fried avocados! My husband ordered the very generous rib eye steak with fingerling potatoes and veggies. I had the Dover sole with a mix of farro cooked with baby squash and red peppers. The sauce was devine...a cheesy mix. For dessert we indulged in the peach and apple crisp served with vanilla ice cream...yum! We were never rushed and each course arrived well paced. All in all, an outstanding meal from beginning to end.!
Great decor, service, food and wine!
At the price point of Vincent's it forces me to compare with Mille Fleurs, The Inn as Rancho Santa Fe and George's at the Cove. I think Vincent's is just not at par with these others... but, if Vincent's is local for you and the type of ambiance that it offers is what you are looking for - then please support the establishment. I will try to find reason to be a patron as I do want places like Vincent's to remain in Escondido.
My recommendation to a friend would be based on this...
Went for Father’s Day brunch. Service, food, everything was excellent! Will definitely go again!
The French onion soup is divine! We decided on the pre fixe menu, and enjoyed every bite!
Vincent's remains one of the top fine food restaurants in the San Diego area. It has adapted sensibly to the pandemic era; tables are well-separated, mask use is required when not eating, and all staff wear masks, yet it is a joyous environment with calming jazz music in the background. The menu selection is broad and all delicious. We were there to celebrate our 10th anniversary and Vincent's made it truly memorable.

Wonderful food and service
It was hard to find the entrance. The people behind me were loud and obnoxious. The price was based on a time when the restaurant was more quaint (I think?). The food was good and the waitress was excellent in her presentation and help. We were social distanced though and were given a small pouch and a hand wipe.
I know we are having difficulty “opening up” again, but, we are all going through it together.
Our first trip out since restaurants reopened. Vincent’s did not disappoint. Food and service was perfect.
Few diners as the lock down just ended
So staff were very attentive
Special cocktails were great
Wine lust good and reasonable
Amazing cocktails - so nice to sit down and be served again, but they really were stellar. Their version of an Old Fashioned was perfection and the Lavender gin cocktail excellent. It was pre-fixe, but with several options and add-ons, there was plenty of selection. Everything was served hot and efficiently on this first weekend of re-opened restaurants. We are glad we made Vincent's our first foray!
The food at Vincent's is always outstanding. No question. The service can be slow, but the food is worth the wait!
Dinner’s could have been warmer but were delicious. Need to make sure you have house wines, we had to spend more on the wine because you were out of the house wine. Appetizers were delicious. Service was great.
Perfect food, great service, great atmosphere
Food was top notch and we really enjoyed our waiter. On the down side while we were enjoying our meal, the restaurant staff proceeded to make table changes and talking loud that it began to interfere with the enjoyment of our meal. Understandably it seemed to be a slow night with just a few tables in use by customers but all that commotion took away from our enjoyment.
Chef was able to prepare a special Vegan dinner for my daughter which she absolutely loved.
Vincent's has been our favorite special occasion restaurant for many years and our recent visit was superb.
My husband rated his favorite French Onion Soup the best he'd ever had. We asked for both the tuna and the steak to be well done and, though the chef probably disapproved, he cooked them perfectly to our request. Our only slight disappointment was that the menu advertised a medley of seasonal vegetables as an accompaniment to both main courses but only spinach was served - a very minor criticism. The lemon sauce accompanying the strawberry/rhubarb cake dessert was a little too sour for our taste and we thought the house wine at $12 a glass rather more expensive than normal but, overall, it was an extremely enjoyable meal and we will definitely return.
This place is such a hidden gem. I have been here many times before, but felt inclined to post a review. The food, the atmopshere, and the service is absolutely flawless. This place is perfect for special occasions, and worth every penny. I am so glad I discovered this. Do yourself a favor and go!
The most amazing place for dinner!
My first choice for food prepared with a French flair. It is an Americanized menu but does a good job at imitation French without having to ask the waiter what is this on the menu. Good beef wellington, duck, and lamb. I have been to France many times so if the dish is not perfectly authentic it still tastes good. The restaurant is small and crowded but still enjoyable.
This is our favorite go-to place for special occasions. The food is reliably delicious. The cocktails are well-made. The wine selections are very nice. Service is professional, prompt, done with style.
Birthday dinner was awesome
We've been going to Vincent's for almost 20 years, food and service still continue to impress.
We went for my parents anniversary. The food was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. Very nice ambiance inside. Service was slow, considering we were really the only people there, but not enough to warrant a bad review because overall the food was great and the server was really nice.
The food and service are wonderful! :)
Great food, fresh ingredients. But waitress brought soup for table, but not enough spoons. Had to wait to ask and ultimately get up and help myself. Shouldn’t be the case for such nice restaurant. Other than that, very nice meal and experience.
My folks and I went to Vincent’s to celebrate my birthday. The food was good but the service was slow. Our server was a young lady who seemed disinterested and inconvenienced by us. My Mom ordered a $13 margarita. It was very weak and tasteless so I asked if she could get some Grand Mariner. They charged another $12 for a shot. All I wanted was to make it a Cadillac margarita. So the drink cost $25!!! My bad for not noticing this until after we had left the restaurant. I have never paid that for a Margarita. And they do nothing to celebrate birthdays. The steak was good but we will not return. Vincent’s used to be a great restaurant. They have lost their edge. The restaurant is for sale so unfortunately they don’t seem to care about the customer experience. So sad because it used to be one of our favorite restaurants.
Out of fois gras and wine selection. Duck l orange was lacking orange flavor. Beef Wellington was not tasty. Last time there it was.
Took my wife here for her birthday. She loved it so much we plan to go back regularly.
I had Barramundi, which was fresh and perfectly prepared. It was on a bed of risotto that had excellent flavors but was a little mushy for my taste. Starter was a carrot soup that was very good, wonderful flavors . In general a very good meal, excellent service. Not my first visit to Vincent's and I will definitely dine there again.
Great place. Feels like home and with a great dinner. Win-win.
The best food in town, served in a warm, relaxed atmosphere by skillful servers. A consistently outstanding dining experience.
