Hummus Kitchen in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, offers spicy, savory fare sure to delight the taste buds. If you have a hankering for heat, enjoy food that is "filled with the heat of its birthplace,” as coined by the restaurant staff.
Begin dinner with a Mediterranean chopped salad or the garden vegetable soup. Then, move on to a Hummus Kitchen entrée, like the shakshuka classic or the chraime Moroccan chicken. The shawarma platter is always a big hit, as are the tahini kebabs. Hummus Kitchen does offer a brunch menu, as well, making it an ideal spot to get an energizing start to the day.
great addition to the theatre district!
I went yesterday for dinner and it was such an unpleasant experience.
It took at least 15 minutes to be greater by a server, the same was not well informed about drinks and food.
The food was ok, nothing special.
Server did not even offered desserts for us.Just dropped check after clearing the table.
Also they charge more on the bill that on the menu per se. So pay attention on the check.
Very good food, good service.
Noise level is too high, even though the place was not full. Should lower the volume of background music, given the acoustics of the building.
Excellent Mediterranean/middle eastern style cuisine: Moroccan, Israeli...all well prepared and tasty.
Hummus Kitchen in Hell's Kitchen is a small little gem with an authentic Mediterranean menu. Excellent options allow diners to choose from 3 small offerings or full meals. The food is fresh and exquisitely prepared. The accommodations may seem cramped to some and the service can be spotty, but not rude or dismissive. A true NYC experience!
Perfect spot for lunch before off Broadway. Food was amazing. Great lunch specials, wine list and super nice service. Exceeded my expectations. Great atmosphere.
Hummus Kitchen was a delight. Our waiter was so nice and courteous while at lunch. The Falafel wrap was so delicious and the hummus & pita bread was spectacular! A must on anyone's bucket list!
We were three people. We ordered the grape leaves which were served warm with pomegranate, Potato and mushroom bourekas - perfect, baboganoush - perfect, the pita was the best, served warm and fluffy. The hummus was hummus. We had chicken prepared with cinnamon and raisins over couscous, huge serving of couscous with many vegetables in it. One order of meat kabobs, which I expected to be served on a skewer, but were grilled meat croquettes also served over couscous, other choice was over rice or chopped salad. Portions were large enough to share, especially after so many appetizers.
The Chicken Couscous was outstanding! Some of the best babaganoush I've had anywhere. They were very helpful with my wife's food allergies and since returning home to the Chicago area keeps saying she wants to go back here. She normally doesn't eat desserts and definitely not mousse, but she absolutely loved the Coco Morocco that my daughter and I ordered along with the baklava. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Really enjoy this place - its my go to lunch location and just tried it for dinner. Yummy food overall. No complaints. The BEST humus in NYC. period.
