Took close to 15 minutes for the server to show up to the table, even though he told us “he’d be right with us” 10 minutes before. By the time he did show up, we had already decided on our drinks and food, and although they have a few specials, we didn’t hear them until we had already been staring at the menu for forever. the kitchen was able to send out our steamed dumpling app/Caesar salad, and we ate 3/4 of it before a mediocre lemon drop martini (that was served in a chipped glass that almost cut our lips) and a Stella bottle were served. For entree, we orders the surf and turf. The filet mignon was cooked close the the medium rare we order and tasted ok. The two prawns were over cooked and tough, and the “crab cake” was maybe the size of a silver dollar and possible the worst tasting thing we ate there. When the server sat the plate down, we commented on the size of the cake, and he was kind enough to talk to the kitchen and brought us two more. Unfortunately we had already tasted the first one, so the other ones went to waste. If you can find a reservation at any other restaurant on Maui, go there. Full disclosure, the manager did comp part off the meal, but even with the discounted check, it was still a complete disappointment and a waste of one of our night on Maui.
This place is at the Marriott hotel. We did not stay there; only went to dine there. It's a big place, different forms of seats, tall chairs, booth style, regular mid room tables etc.
The food was Dee-licious! I opted for two beginner plates which were ample. I had the baby back ribs and the crispy brussel sprouts with cauliflower. Both plates were absolutely scrumptious! My friend had the Mahi mahi which he raved over. They have an impressive selection of fish plates and a wonderful wine list! Fabulously dressed edamame was on the house! The service was perfection.
We were on our honeymoon and mentioned this in our Open Table reservation. Dessert came with “Congratulations” written in chocolate, which was an appreciated special touch. Service and food were both outstanding. Manager stopped by to introduce himself and make sure everything was perfect - that’s always great, even if we had nothing but great things to say!
Our waitress was outstanding. Her recommendations were spot on, she checked with the kitchen to confirm request in advance, and was pleasantly efficient. Food was timely and tasty! Views were spectacular. A very enjoyable experience.
Looking for A nice relaxing night out with the wife having been to Roy’s I expected much more. We were greeted by a server whom appeared to be Stoned, slurred her name and forgot her greet mid way through. she was not able to clearly communicate features and or answer our questions regarding the meal. I ordered the local Opah Prepared as a signature fish of the day. I love this fish from Hawaii and this being a fish and seafood forward restaurant I thought they would respect and cook this fish correctly. Boy was I wrong the fish was so terribly overcooked that it resembled not only the taste and texture but the look of Sunkist canned tuna. From service to food quality and even timing I give this restaurant one star as 0 was not an option, and warn all those to stay clear
Reserved this restaurant to celebrate our 40th anniversary and requested a table with a nice view on the outdoor patio. Although there were many open tables with great views, we were directed to a table in a corner of the patio, next to a family with toddlers. Since one of us would have to face a wall or the noisy family, we asked if we could have one of the other open tables. Is it a game with restaurants to see who is willing to sit in the undesireable tables? The evening improved after that with delicious crispy brussell spouts and cauliflower appetizer followed by Misoyaki butterfish and HMK style carbonara. Finished with the pineapple upside down cake made to order.
Amazing sushi and ribs!!!!!
All our dishes were absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend the potato crusted fish!
This could be the worst service we received on Maui to date. Our server took our appetizer order and that was the last we saw of her. We attempted to order cocktails but no one wandered close to our table. Apparently the focus is on families whose children demand constant service from the restaurant.
This is our second visit to the HMK and it will be our last.
Our server, Mitch, helped us have an incredible time celebrating our anniversary! He was so friendly and over the top helpful, the ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful, the food is all to-die-for, and the service can’t be beat. I had the new empanadas on the menu and they were so tasty!
Amazing menu and food! Our new absolute favorite restaurant on Maui!
I was very excited about this restaurant. The view, atmosphere and food were incredible however, I felt rushed by our server the entire time. It wasn’t attentive it was annoying and we felt like she just wanted to get us in and out. I’d expect to be able to order and start on a drink beside I’m being asked to order.
The dishes were a bit too salty, and pricing a bit too high compared to the condition of the food.
Food and service were above average. The view was outstanding.
Good service, great table and view. The staff was friendly and wished us a happy anniversary. Would definitely go again and try to be there for sunset!
Great food & great service.
Always a wonderful food experience! I had the Opakapaka which the server raved about it and it was heavenly. Perfect meal, excellent waitress! We always go multiple times when we visit and highly recommend to friends/strangers!
Great food, great service. Thank you!
The presentation and quality of food truly reflect the spirit of Roy Yamaguchis vision. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Would love to come back! I strongly recommend to visit this place. Simply amazing!
Location and service were great. Food was ok but nothing special and rather pricey.
We were there for sunset. Had a great table overlooking ocean awesome!!
The chocolate souffle is to die for. A MUST-GET treat!!! Good food in a nice environment. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
We decided on Humble Market Kitchin for a special dinner out for our vacation. Made reservations for just before sunset, so of course we chose to sit outside. Service was very attentive from the beginning. All the food & drinks were delish, the only issue was my husband's mashed potatoes were not very hot, but our waitress was very quick with a replacement. The sunset and the resort grounds were gorgeous. Overall we had a fabulous dinner!
The decor is more casual than the food and pricing. I had the butterfish and my husband had the lamb chops, both were delicious. The portions were large. The view from the patio is spectacular. But the interior has a much more casual look, almost like a coffee shop.
We found the service to be really good. Unfortunately the food was not up to Roy's high level of quality and creativity. For the money, there are better places to eat on Maui.
We are here several times during our stay at the Marriott Beach Resort.
Breakfast buffet is solid, but they have to do something about the birds. If you leave your table or drop anything on the floor they swarm.
We had a lovely dinner. But the bar sent over the wrong drink twice... and our food wasn’t quite as described. Not sure if the waitress was new... but she described the chicken hekka as a soup and there was so little broth it was sad.
If you are staying at the Marriott, this is not a bad place for dinner if you want to stay in. We decided to stay on resort on our last night. The potato crusted fish was bland and disappointing in preparation but good fish. The other fish and their preparations were much better. The upside down pineapple cake dessert was worth the 15-minute wait. The service and sunset were both perfect. Mama’s Fish House was way superior in food preparation, but this will do.
The food was awesome, my compliments to the chef. She outdid herself again. Service was attentive, accurate, and friendly.
Great service and atmosphere
Worst restaurant in Wailea
Absolutely recommended the lamb
Tracy was amazing. The service was impeccable however the food was decent, small portion for the price but it’s a hotel restaurant so it’s expected to be over price.
Parking was terrible, we had to park at the shops at Wailea because of a special event parking was not available at the hotel.
Great setting for a romantic dinner at sunset.
Love this place for sunset dinners! Pricey, but food and ambience are top notch.
Mitch great service
Just ok food
