Service and food was fantastic! When visiting Chicago again, Hugo's and Gibson's is definitely on our "go to" list!! We will definitely recommend both restaurants to travelers who are heading to the Windy City!!
Fantastic restaurant. My favorite in Chicago. The King Crab Legs are to die for. The desserts are enough to feed a family of four.
Great wine list. I from out of town, but I make this a regular stop every time I visit the area. You won’t be disappointed.
You guys are great..many thanks!
Overall a great experience. The greeting staff was energetic and welcoming, and our server Jonathan was fantastic. Very attentive and knowledgeable. The calamari and crab cake were on point. The only thing that was disappointing was my Porterhouse. I have been to Gibsons 5-6 times in my lifetime, and the Porterhouse from them is my favorite steak in Chicago. I just did not have a good steak this time. Really fatty cut of meat, and was overcooked from my Medium request. It happens sadly, but it still hurts when you pay $60. Overall, fantastic time.
We had an excellent experience from arrival to departure. The primary server was friendly and attentive. An additional server also helped out at one point. The Sea Bass was prepared well and the steak was excellent. The peas and mushroom side was really good. Great cocktails! We will visit again.
Service was great. Food was excellent. Only issue was that I was seated near the kitchen door. Not that big of a deal. Soup was as good as have had. My wife's entrée was the sea bass. It was excellent and I had crab legs. They too were very good. Great experience. Had Fun.
Had a group of 8 including an infant. First class service from moment we arrived through departure. Our servers were Joel and Andrew and they were pros. Excellent service and recommendations on cocktails, wine, and meal choices. This is the fifth time we’ve been and have had excellent experiences every time. Hugo’s is one of my top 3 places in Chicago to dine. Bravo!
Fabulous food and service, always a favorite!
Service was fantastic! Our server was attentive, jovial and knowledgeable!
We come to Chicago every year for Valentine’s Day. We had a great meal as always.
Great service, great food. Experience was great!
This place is amazing. They show you entree samples before you order. The service ambiance and food was 5 star. We loved the music too. I highly recommend you won't be disappointed.
The Oysters are always fresh and flavorful.
The Clam Chowder is good for the Midwest but poor compared to the east coast.
Although the restaurant is affiliated with Morton's you are better off sticking with the seafood.
Service and bread was exceptional.
Nice variety of Beer on Tap.
First it was V Day, so it was great to be able to get a table. First off they seated us basically in the back dark corner of the restaurant, which we didn't mind too much because of the holiday. But soon we noticed how cold it was in the restaurant, we couldn't even finish our meal or take off our coats because of it. We rushed out so fast because of the cold.
But, our waiter was great. Very great recommendations and helped pairing oysters and splitting dishes.
What incredible frog legs! Sea bass was amazing too. Terrific service. What a great Valentines Day venue!! Will go back very soon.
Excellent service, great food,
I came in for my birthday and the service was impeccable by my waiter Pete. Both managers came over to say hello and check on how the food and service was. They were outstanding, engaging, professional and very kind. My waiter Pete went way out of his way to make sure cocktails, appetizers and dinner were nothing but wonderful...and they were. Best service I ever had in a Chicago restaurant. Thank you!
Best Sea Bass ever!!
Wait staff was great. Seafood quality is excellent
Fancy and fun! Hugo's is the seafood variant on Gibson's gourmet steakhouse, and bills itself as a Chicago institution. It fits the part--the menu is awe-inspiring in terms of fresh fish variety (all flown in daily, according to the restaurant), and it's association with Gibson's means you can get really amazing steaks as well. It's pricey--expect around $100 per diner (we had an appetizer, an entre, and an a la carte side, along with one drink).
The atmosphere is convivial, and the waiters are engaging and bring sample cuts of fish to show you what you'll get. It's an exciting place to eat--feels like the kind of place parties go to have amazing food and a good time.
We were celebrating a birthday and this restaurant fit all of our needs.
Appetizers were very good and the food was outstanding. Service was above and beyond.
Always great!! Service, food , drinks the best. Seating is also great.
Wonderful dinner and service. Cake and steak was on point!
nice spot on rush street. Good atmosphere ,reasonably priced
Food took forever to come to the table abut everything tasted delicious. We’ll be back for crab cakes and steak!
Sadly we had a bad table. Our chairs kept getting kicked and bumped by wait staff and customers. Our waiter was less than interested. Sadly we paid a good deal of money for a ehh meal we could have had at Texas road house for a fraction of the price.
Service always amazing and food is wonderful. Shares kitchen with Gibson’s so amazing choice of seafood and steaks
Big portions. Nothing fancy. Not for casual dining
Wonderful experience. I will def return to this establishment when in Chicago again. Food was Phenomenal as well as the service.
Waiter and reception very friendly and helpful. Ambiance is first-class but atmosphere is casual which is desirable. Good mixture of young and older clientele. While I am not a steak eater, this is the only place I will order a stake. Side dishes are very good and if you like deserts, this is the place to be. Location is without question the best in all of Chicago Metro. I highly recommend.
