About Hugo's Frog Bar & Fish House - Chicago
After years of searching far and wide for a location to open the follow-up restaurant to the highly successful Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, owners Hugo Ralli and Steve Lombardo found what they were looking for right under their noses. In February of 1997 they launched the seafood companion to the Chicago legend they had created with Gibsons and named it Hugo's Frog Bar & Fish House. The restaurant is dedicated to the same principles as its predecessor, unbelievable portions, value and quality coupled with memorable service.

Hugo's Frog Bar & Fish House - Chicago Ratings and Reviews
Last minute reservation turned into a wonderful dinner! My husband and I made a last minute decision and so glad we did. He had the scallops and I had the crab stuff lobster. Both dishes were amazing!! I started with the clam chowder which was delicious. We also had the calamari. We ordered a half order of the brussel sprouts and a twice baked potato (the potato was the only item that was just okay). Overall, wonderful experience! Can’t wait to go back!!
Food was excellent. Service was very slow. Best boys were too quick to remove plates , it was result, ordering Stone crab was a mess. They were not adequately cracked, I had to ask for a implement to crack them myself. The waiter had a hard time locating one . We asked when ordering them if they would be cracked properly and we’re till definitely yes. Obviously that was not her experience. The bus boys were too quick to remove plates and it seemed like we were being rushed out of our dining experience so that they could turn our table faster. Unfortunately This left a bad experience in my mind.
Too crowded. We had to move our table so I could sit down. I only weigh 110lbs. The waiter seemed really good but disappeared after taking our order. My food order was so salty that I didn't enjoy ( crab stuffed flounder with a side of steamed spinach) it but we couldn't find our waiter to say anything. No one stopped by to ask about the food or if we needed anything else. When we had to leave to get to our ticketed program, we had to chase down a 'bus' worker to get a bill. I had wanted to order a dessert but couldn't find our waiter once again before departing. It was a pretty disappointing and expensive experience. Definitely not worth the money.
