Our server, Daisy, is exceptional. Very intuitive and helpful. The staff is very friendly and aware of their products and service.
Great experience with friends and family.
Always great food and exceptional service. We enjoyed our meal out on the patio where it was quiet. My husband's steak was perfectly cooked and my scallops were wonderful. Looking forward to our next visit.
I was very excited to take my wife here for the first time on an evening out. Even though the restaurant is located just off the casino floor you don't hear any of the noise coming into the restaurant. It is very quiet and quaint with a beautiful view of the Delaware River and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. This is my second trip to the restaurant. I truly appreciate their prompt service getting a seated with multiple servers bringing beverages taking food orders bringing appetizers all very quickly and deliciously. My wife has an unusual onion allergy which makes some things difficult to order. They were very careful to make sure that her food was prepared with the utmost care and concern to address for allergy issue.
To start the meal as they bring you menus and request your beverages they also bring you a variety of fresh baked bread and butter for your pleasure. I highly recommend the bread with the fruit in it. It is by far my favorite. As a secondary starter I got the lobster bisque soup which is every bit as good as Bodines legendary soup from San Francisco.
I have the jumbo lump crab cakes which were fantastic. My wife however got the encrusted salmon without the fennel. We both shared a ginormous wedge salad and got the giant prawn shrimp cocktail appetizer.
While the service was impeccable it seemed like they were short staffed. Service slow albeit excellent. House vinaigrette was tasteless but. The rest was very good.
The serving size of the cake for 2 persons for dessert could have fed 8-10 people. It was monstrously oversized! The waitstaff ought to forewarn guests. Regardless it is grossly wasteful and does not impress to serve such a size!
What great place, experience, meal, service and especially the cake! Would highly recommend!
Great service UNTIL, the place started to fill up. Then we basically lost our server Michael for longer periods of time.
Don't think it was his fault necessarily, but the service from 6pm to 7pm was better than from 7pm TO 8pm.
Food was average and nothing to write home about. Ordered a $60.00 steak that was definitely not anything special. I live in NYC and have eaten in the best steak houses For less money and much higher quality. The meal was more like sustinence than great food.
Great for a pre show dinner at SugarHouse!
Had dinner here because we were attending a concert. Loved the crab cakes, large with all crab no filler. Great pour on the wines by the glass The fillet sliders were excellent and the spicy charred broccolini was delicious. Nice menu. Will definitely return.
Celebrated my boy friend’s birthday at Hugo’s . Food was excellent. The best steak we’ve ever had. Crab cake was delicious. It’s pricy, but not bad to have it for special days . Manager was very friendly and nice .
Overall, Hugo’s Chicago ought to be embarrassed that the Philly location trades on it’s name. Calamari was weak at best, Steaks were OK - a filet-medium arrived rare, but the real disappointment was the bread basket. The first opportunity Hugo’s had to “show their stuff” or that they even care, arrived as 3 separate dry/cold/dense pieces of flavorless multigrain, cranberry, and rustic Italian bread with 1/3 stick of butter plopped into a bowl. We should’ve checked out there and gone to any one of the many many many better options the city has to offer in the steakhouse category alone....
Dinner was fantastic. The food was delicious. The crab mac and cheese and the filet was to die for. Not to mention the giant chocolate mousse pie...... omg !!!!
We love Hugo’s!!! The food and the service is excellent; expect to pay good money but it is always worth it. Pino is usually our waiter and he is simply the best!!!! Been there many, many times and we will be back. Only downside is having to walk through the smoky casino to get to it.
Went there to have Dinner before show at Event Center. Meal and total experience was EXCELLENT!! Will be returning to restaurant in the near future. All guests also say they enjoyed the meal and total experience. A+++
The portions are big. The bake pitato was 1 lb, so we ordered only one. The server was very nice and so was the atmosphere. Our steaks were delicious. We would go back.
The food was spectacular! The service incredible! I'm from Chicago and you have no idea how wonderful it was to FINALLY have a steak the way it SHOULD taste. At first I was apprehensive because I did not want Gibson's to turn into a franchise ( the owners of Hugos) I am not a fan of franchises. BUT, was happy to learn they were not franchising. Just allowing one to.open in Philly. And, happy to learn the food and cooking standards are just like Chicago's. Thank God!!!!
I enjoyed my meal with my long time friend. We shared the Lump Crab Cake meal. It was a large portion and the waitress had platter divided and even gave us each our own portion of coleslaw. The basket of bread was fresh and our Martinis were refreshing and delicious too.
First time here. I've walked past it many times while gaming at Sugarhouse, but never really stopped in. Took my close friend to lunch there. We both had burgers, and they were absolutely outstanding!!! Came with a side of really thin well done seasoned fries... was excellent!! Service was fantastic, the server took excellent care of us. We'll be going back there for dinner in the future. Highly recommend it!!
Great service from attentive wait staff. Diverse menu with many appealing selections. Portion size was decent without being too much or too little. Food quality was very good. I would eat there again without hesitation.
Had a wonderful salad lunch with great fresh bread. Service was perfect. Very quiet at lunch time.
Michael was our waiter. He was great! We had a great experience thanks to him. He answered all of our questions and checked up on us frequently.
The service was poor at best. At one point, the server vanished for over 20 minutes. The steaks however tasty not worth the money.
Best ribeye steak I ever had. My dates filet minion was also great. Nice atmosphere, but very pricey.
A true steakhouse with big beef choices and many good options for those with more realistic appetites. Po boys, sliders, appetizers and side dishes for two are reasonably priced and delicious. (Try the avocado and crab app!) The desserts are HUGE, plan on taking 1/2 home, at least.
We had a wonderful time at Hugo’s. The food, service and everything was perfect. Much thanks to Dominique at Hugo’s and our lovely server who treated us so well. The scallops were delicious and the burger was the best ever.
They could not get my steak medium rare . For a place this nice I was very disappointed.
We decided to try Hugo's for our Anniversary. I ordered the T-bone steak and my husband ordered the filet. They were cooked perfectly. We had a side of mushrooms that was delicious. Fresh bread and butter was also, very good. When we were finished, the server brought us a surprise anniversary slice of chocolate cake. The size would have fed 6 to 8 people. I think it was 5 or 6 layers of pure indulgence. The server lit the candle and told us to make a wish. We had a small portion since we were full from our dinner. Everyone was very friendly and the service was top notch. We will certainly return and I encourage everyone to try this wonderful restaurant.
It was my first time at Sugar House Casino. The food, service, politeness of security and the overall cleanliness will have me and my family back again. Thank you
Wonderful waitress. Slow food. Everyone’s meals delivered at different times. Loud.
Food was very good but, after food arrived no one ever came back to see if all was good. Part of our food never came, no one asked if we would like another drink. I guess we were not a big enough party to spend time with, and that bothered us.
Overpriced, food was ok but nothing special.
Steaks were awesome. Tender, flavorful and cooked to the proper requested temperature. I recommend if you are thinking about the loaded baked potato it is too big for 1 person. Definitely a side for two. Service was ok but not exceptional. If we go to the Sugar House Casino again for a show, we'll definitely consider Hugo's again.
We were very happy with our pre-show supper. Definitely would do again.
We had a great meal and great service by Antoinette. We remembered her from eating there previously and she help make it memorable with her personality and attention to details. The food presentation was excellent. The only complaint would be that the deserts are too big and we had to waste the food.
The waiter was very nice and professional
I will definitely request him on my next visit. The food was the amazing. I eat out alot and this restaurant is in my top 5.
Thanks again Hugo's. Second visit for my wife and I. Tried Hugo's in February, couldn't wait to enjoy again. The food is amazing. Our server on our previous visit was Joseph. Lucky us, Joseph again. Prompt, friendly, professional. We don't gamble, went there just for the food. You won't be gambling either if you try Hugo's. You won't be disappointed, amazing.
We have eaten at Hugo’s before and the food is always good. We did a birthday dinner for a friend and ate in the dining room this time instead of the bar area. Our server Pino was absolutely amazing. He helped us with recommending dishes and brought out a GIANT birthday cake for our friend. The food was absolutely amazing and the cake was incredible. What a great experience.
my server was the only one that was waiting on my seating area so the service
was a little slow. even the host had to clean off tables before I was seated and it was not
busy at all. I had to send back my NY sirloin after it came to the table the meat and plate had such a bad un appetizing "odor" that I did not even chance tasting it. My replacement
Filet Mignon was dry and my baked potato was cold and dried out as well. I had to pass
along because I've heard of others who were not pleased at all either with this place.
