   Food was excellent and service but not intrusive. Ox cheeks and pork chop were delicious. Very nice ambience and prices very reasonable for the quality of the food and location. Highly recommended

   Schönes stilvolles Ambiente. Ruhig, wir waren vor 20 Uhr da. Essen sehr fein. Preisleistungsverhältnis enorm. Bedienung freundlich aber für mich sehr zurückhaltend

   Restaurant was not busy on a Sat. evening. Despite this, no server approached our table for 30 min. We were just getting ready to leave. Apparent miscommunication between staff. I have high expectations for French food. The food here was nothing special. It seemed to be agood place for elderly folks dining alone. Not much energy in the place.

   Direkt am Gendarmenmarkt gelegen, verfügt Hugo & Notte über die eigentlich perfekte Lokalität. Die Räumlichkeiten an sich wären ein Traum, würde man nur in etwas Charme und Ambiente investieren. Leider ist dies nicht der Fall und das Restaurant wirkt steril, charmfrei und kalt. Das Essen war okay; wobei es dem Fisch auf Zitronienpolenta total an Geschmack fehlte; es musste ordentlich nachgewürzt werden. Die Ochsenbäckchen waren lecker, der dazu gereichte Kartoffelbrei leider auch unterer Durchschnitt - entweder aus der Packung (Metro?) oder mit festkochenden Kartoffeln zubereitet. Das Personal war freundlich. In den Damentoiletten türmen sich gewisse gebrauchte Hygieneartikel im Mülleimer, so dass der Deckel nicht mehr drauf passt und es entsprechend eklig riecht. Der Preis ist für das, was man bekommt eindeutig zu hoch und wir werden das Lokal nicht wieder besuchen.

   Nice food and good service. I had a beautiful steak and a lovely glass of wine. Would probably go back at a busier time for better atmosphere (not 20:30 on Sunday night). Overall very nice.

   Trotz des schönen Ambientes, waren wir enttäuscht. 20 Minuten warten auf eine Vorspeise (Französische Zwiebelsuppe ohne Käse?). Das Personal war zwar freundlich, aber der Service schien nicht sehr professionell zu sein.

   While ordering, we were told some menu items were not available. A half hour after ordering, we were told one of our ordered entrees was also not available. We had to wait over an hour for our entrees. When the food arrived, it was very good. The management recognized the inconvenience and did not charge us for our first round of drinks.

    Charming staff and good food in a really warm beautiful space within the French Protestant Cathedral. I had the Coq au vin. Beautifully done not swamped in sauce and lovely vegetables. I then had a really delicious apple crumble and ice cream. Really crispy crumble. Husband had Schweinekotelett which he loves and can’t always find. Followed by cassis sorbet in Sekt which he enjoyed. Wine and beer followed by a generous mint tea.
