My wife and I had the Crispy fried Calimari appetizer that was delicious. For dinner we had the Alaskan Halibut that was cooked to perfection, and Fioccchi Pasta that was bursting with flavor. 5 stars to the Chef!!!
Thank you for the perfect anniversary dinner!
Our table of four enjoyed dinner at the Hudson. All of us had the filet mignon, and creme brûlée for dessert. All the food was excellent and cooked just right for our individual palettes. The waiter was very accommodating and nice.
Food was delicious, but $4.00 for a glass of tea!?! Will only do water from now on.
Fantastic service. It was quieter than normal due to a certain unnamed pandemic. The food and the drinks were the same high standard they have always been. It’s nice to see that they haven’t slipped due to worldwide panic
Sandra was an excellent waitperson!
Great food, Great service
This is a neighborhood restaurant for us so we have always loved the piano in the evening and the tasteful decor. Unfortunately, with Covid-19, we can no longer sit at the bar and I don't recall the piano. Still, with all the challenges in the restaurant industry, the management, chefs, waiters worked together to give us a great dining experience. We thank them mightily - Hudson's is a class act.
Our meal was excellent! I had the spinach salad, he had the Cesar salad. Both were very tasty. He had the meatloaf and I had the pasta. Both were served warm and very flavorful. One of the best meals I've had in a long time! We were sat upstairs where it was quiet; next to the fireplace. The ambiance was a little different but due to the necessity to social distance, it was alright. Our waiter was very attentive and made certain that we were well taken care of.
Our service was terrible! We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks, took forever for just water let alone our food. Waitress all though nice, was totally incompetent! The booth they sat us in had horrible lighting and when we asked about it, they said “oh the light is burned out”, but didn’t offer to reseat us.
We have always had a great time here and unfortunately this visit soured our view of Hudson’s. But the food was great as always!
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very nice.
Our first venture out to eat during the pandemic was a great experience. The restaurant has done a great job with safety--Plexiglass panels over the high-backed booths, and half or more of the free-standing tables removed so there were no roped-off areas. Our server was delightful and the food was excellent as always--delicious and well presented. Check the menu on your smartphone, or they will bring you single-use paper menus. We left feeling we'd had not only a good meal but a pleasant dining experience.
My wife and I were very pleased. It was my birthday and our 15th wedding anniversary
Dinner was fantastic. Service was wonderful and we defintely had a good experience.
Wasn’t crowded on the Friday morning breakfast we ate. The first couple of cups of coffee were lukewarm but the 3Rd cup we got was hot, the way we like it. My wife ordered a salad but it didn’t arrive until we were all done eating, even though we had inquired about it twice after ordering. Two in our party of 4 though their food was not very warm on arrival. This was our first dine in during covid19 and the restaurant was just reopening as well and perhaps wasn’t up to speed. We have eaten there many times over the years and this was our worst experience. My carmalized pear French toast was quite warm and tasty although smaller in portions than Previous occasions.
The menu was more limited than we recall and was perhaps because they just reopened. The Caprese salad we had was excellent but my meatloaf and my wife's chicken was just OK. The service was fine. We ate upstairs where it was very quiet and we appreciated that. The wines are very expensive so the overall value was not very good.
We came to celebrate my daughter's birthday. No trouble parking. We had a wonderful meal and the service was good also.
This was our first meal out since March and we were surprised by the thoughtful care taken to protect our health.
We waited 30 minutes to be acknowledged. Had to stand up to ask someone for service. Food took awhile and came out cold.
Food was great, waiter was courteous. Overall vibe was wonderful
Spaced perfect for covid-19. The staff all very safe with masks. Felt very comfortable and got all our needs met. Food was and service hands down the best in years.
You have all done a great job opening up to eat and keep us safe. Great service, good food and nice ambiance!
My grandson and I had breakfast there yesterday. The food was appealing to the eye and very delicious. It is on the spendy side, but I'm glad we tried it. The service was excellent!
Great to be back at Hudson’s. Great service and the bread pudding is amazing. Had the meatloaf and it was tasty but a bit cold in the middle. Añejo Old fashion was very good.
Food was a disappointment in taste and value. Seated at a small uncomfortable 2 person table in high traffic area.
This was our first foray into restaurant eating again since the covid shut down. What a pleasure. The service was excellent, spacing and cleanliness was excellent. The appetizer and salad were fabulous, scallops lovely, the halibut just okay. The halibut was the only place it fell down, just average in preparation so for the price, a disappointment. Get the bread, the gorgonzola cheese, the salad with green goddess. The scallops were not the best I've ever had, but they were quite good. Try other entrees and see. I'd go again, but try another entree and share one instead of getting two. Too much food and for the price, I'll try each one to find an entree really worth it.
I have been ordering take out from Hudson's and could hardly wait until they reopened. Five of us made a reservation for lunch as a treat for a coworker who is retiring. We enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance very much.
This restaurant is very clean, with nice décor, and the workers are amazing.
Husband had the Wagyu beef which he loved, and I had the best pasta dish I ever had, know this sounds unusual but it had pears and cranberries in it and was amazing. Lovely waitress and very nice atmosphere.
These guys have figured out how to create an excellent dining experience while still following correct vivid guidelines.
Food was good. Menu smaller than before shutdown and prices were higher.
Service was excellent
Had a great time and happy to see all they did to keep their costumers safe from the virus.
Though there were few guests dining due to social distancing, our server was very pleasant and attentive. This was our first dining out experience in three months! I knew from past experience the we would enjoy our visit to Hudson's Bar & Grill!
The salads were good and the entrees were good too. Service was a little thin for the number of tables but this was the beginning of the Corona virus too so suspect the staff was cut back due to less clients. The decor reminds me of the Disney Grand California Hotel.
Food and drinks were awesome and the server was especially perfect.
The steak was very good and we love the restaurant as a whole. I had scallops before at this restaurant, and was disappointed in the size and the style of cooking when I had them this time.
My friends and I had a delightful dining experience at Hudson’s Bar and Grill. The ambience and serenity of the dining room was elegant, very conducive to conversation without intrusive or unpleasant commotion from other diners. Each food dish presentation was sophisticated as one would expect of such an establishment. They were pleasantly yummy, tasteful and creative for the most part. Our wait person was super in every way making our dining experience most pleasant and special. My only criticism was that my Halibut filet was on the bland side. The chef might consider some sauce to kick-up the flavor profile.
The Hudson's Bar and Grill is by far our favorite restaurant in the entire Portland/Vancouver area. While some may be fancier and certainly pricier none are a better experience. Been enjoying the Hudson's Bar and Grill for many years and appreciate it now more than ever.
We have dined at Hudson's a number of times. The food and service are inconsistent. At times we have had a wonderful meal! Other times the food and/or service has been less than stellar. This is very disappointing as Hudson's is not inexpensive and is one of the few nice restaurants in our area. We always look forward to dining there but are oftentimes disappointed.
Last night we were served cold corn chowder at the beginning of our meal. We had to ask the server to reheat it. No apology or explanation was offered for the temperature of the chowder. Our entree was served. The tenderloin steak was cooked properly but I couldn't identify the "glop" of potatoes on my plate. It could have been scalloped potatoes but I am not certain. Very unappetizing to say the least. The asparagus was large and had been charred which didn't have much eye appeal. Our server wasn't interested in why we didn't eat our entire dinner. She just took our plates away and left the bill.
Another unhappy experience but next time could be wonderful. You never know.
Hudson's was such a wonderful experience. My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and we live very close to the Heathman Lodge, and have heard great things about the Lodge from my parents who have stayed there a number of times. Our server was very knowledgeable about the food we were interested in, and the food itself was beyond compare. Both my wife and I look forward to returning to enjoy another wonderful dinner at Hudson's sometime soon.
