About Hudson Grille - Downtown
The Hudson Grill is a restaurant that prides itself on being one of the premier sports bars in the area. The interior is well lit and open, with the floor plan of the dining room being specifically designed so that every seat in the house as a great view of one of the many TVs that line the walls. The center of the dining room is taken up by a massive bar, with a huge array of local and international beers on tap for guests to enjoy.
The food served at The Hudson Grille is not the typical bar food one would expect. Head Chef Adam Maddox has created a menu that goes above and beyond the normal fare of sports grilles and creates something entirely different. First timers should definitely start with the blackened mahi-mahi sliders, and then move on to the peach BBQ baby back ribs.

Hudson Grille - Downtown Ratings and Reviews
I want to start with saying the staff was attentive and helpful. We enjoyed their effort and help. That being said the atmosphere was much more like BWW or a big sports bar. The food was ok. My salad was the best thing we ordered. The queso chili tots would have made the mark had the tots been warm and not on the cool side. Not sure I would return.
Visiting Atlanta during Super Bowl weekend, we wanted to watch The Game in a sports bar with good food, good ambiance, and lots of TVs!! This was the perfect spot! Our group agreed that this was the best spinach dip and the best shrimp & grits we have tried thus far... and we've had plenty! The wings were fantastic, too! And the beer.... And the service.... I will definitely be coming back on my next trip.
I needed a walking distance dinner place for 12 of us close to the CNN Center. I looked on Open Table and Yelp and found this place. We had good drinks and food and the bill was pretty reasonable. The manager was very nice and our waitress also. I would come back again.
This was the wrong choice for our purpose of a business meeting. I guess that was our fault for picking the place for such a purpose but we didn't think it would be an issue. There was one guy who wasn't our waiter and we asked if he could please turn down the music because some people on our team were very soft spoken and he very rudely replied, "It's a sports bar so....". While we understand that this is a sports bar, I think he could have brought his point across in a much better way. Probably not gonna have business meetings there anymore.
Waited 15 minutes to be approached by server. Finally I asked another server to get ours. She finally came. 30 minutes later when our food came, one persons simple sandwich didn't come out. Again, 10 minutes later I had to grab a person to get it...since my party was about finished. The restaurant was less than half full.....so it wasn't that....there were servers standing around. Just a group of very poor servers and employees.
The location is convenient but the food is subpar. They were out of two items that we ordered and ran out of a beer that one of my friend's was drinking. This means that they actually served him the last beer of Blue Moon in the keg. The restaurant also spelled pretty bad and was not too clean. Our waitress was great and I could tell she was quite embarrassed with everything.
Went to Hudson Grill before a Falcons game. Did they not know there was a football game 100 yards away?? Kitchen was timely but service and bar were horrible. Only 3 bartenders (one of whom was a manager) at a sports bar on a night with an NFL game going on across the street?? Waited 20 minutes to be greeted by our server and were there over an hour and drinks never came. Waitress was pathetic and we had to flag her down to ask her for anything. She would walk by table and avoid eye contact. All in all a terrible experience. Will eat at the food court next time I go to a Falcons game.
My husband and I were going to a concert downtown Atlanta and wanted to try one of the restaurants close by. We found the Hudson Grille on another website. People had good things to say. This turned out great for us. It was only a 5 minute walk from our venue and the food was great. We made reservations, but didn't need them for 530pm on a Wednesday. We were served right away and offered a nice selection of appetizers and drinks from the bar. Our server was very friendly and had great suggestions. The menu has everything from burgers to the Herb Grilled Chicken, which is what I ordered. Very tasty. My husband enjoyed the wings. Then, to top it off.......half price desserts on Wednesday!!!!
Went here during restaurant week; I think they forgot they were part of it. The waitress wasn't familiar with restaurant week, they didn't have a special menu available to review, and we got 2 different stories of what restaurant week options were. I just don't think this restaurant was organized for the event. Also, the waitress was nice, but very forgetful and not up on details of what's within each food item. I don't necessarily have to go back to this place of establishment unless others want to.
The food was good and the service was great. Excellent server who helped to make the dining experience a good one. A BIG disappointment that you don't validate parking. Visited McCormick and Schmidt's the week before and received validated parking which is right on your doorsteps. I would recommend the restaurant but will warn my friends about parking.
The Hudson Grille was great for an early afternoon meal. The atmosphere is a sports bar with lots of TVs, & noise. They were busy when we stopped, but the hostess honored our reservation. The only complaint we have is the time it took to get our waiter's attention for service.
I arrived at 12:15 for my 12:15 reservation and, after waiting several minutes to see the hostess, was told there was a 40-minute wait to be seated. I understand that the US was playing in the World Cup, but why bother accepting my reservation if you had no intention of honoring it?
My co-workers and I met up at the Hudson Grille - Downtown Atlanta for a lunch gathering on a Wednesday afternoon .... I'm sure it won't be our last visit. We each chose something different from the menu and were pleasantly surprised to see that desserts were 1/2 off -- which topped off a great meal (my red velvet cake was DELICIOUS)!! Our group of 6 had an 11:45am reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. Wonderful lunch spot, the food is great and it didn't take long for our meals to get prepared.
Good dining choice for lunch and to watch sports events- they have many tv's throughout the restaurant. Location is perfect for downtown attractions such as Phillips Arena, CNN and Centennial Park. Easy to walk to and parking is also convenient. Food and service were good- waitstaff is attentive. Although it is loud inside the restaurant- even at lunchtime when it is not so busy.
Our lunch service was very slow; had to constantly look for our service person for our food and to pay check. Our lunch period lasted longer than we expected. Did not previously have this experience when last visited this location, was disappointed this time.
The noon crowd was thin and the servers were fast. Food came out fast and was as described. Typical sports bar fare but well done and no problems. If sports event in town at Philips Arena probably a zoo. Rainy day so no one outside but in spring could be very pleasant.
We ate here before the Hawks game and it took forever for a server to make it to our table. We were there 10 minutes before anyone came to take our order and that's after we asked another waiter if our table had a server. Management claimed they were busy and to bare with them. The place didn't seem that busy to me. The food was okay! The drink was okay! Not impressed and won't be back!
Very glad I booked for this night as attending the George Strait concert. Great buzz about the place and the food was good as they were very busy. Have to admit the B52 cheesecake was scrummy (please note I shared as portion big!) the service was good especially as it was extremely busy :-)
