Hudson and Essex is the premier restaurant of Mansfield’s rustbelt revitalization. Our sleek elegant space showcases a distinctive menu featuring local purveyors and wine from our own Cypress Hill Winery. Our menu changes with the seasons to keep our food fresh while keeping the customer favorites available all year.

Cypress Hill Winery is a boutique winery located beneath Hudson & Essex in the Carousel District of Mansfield, Ohio that remains loyal to the passion and the art of California wine. Family, friends (new and old), connoisseurs and novices alike are welcome. Join us! We look forward to meeting you.

For parties of 8 or more, we do require you to call in to the restaurant as we would need to make sure that we have enough tables available to accommodate you. We were in the wine restaurant downstairs. Staff was very professional. While the first time in that part of the restaurant, we’ve eaten in upstairs, outside and at Prohibition at the Caverns. The owners always stop by to say hello and chat briefly. We think this is very nice and appreciate it. This was the first time we thought the food was just okay. Every other time, it’s been excellent. Everything else was very good.

Everything was excellent, except service was ‘good, but not great’. Our server was admittedly new, and made some mistakes. Overall, the experience was very good. If you have time, take a walk-through of Prohibition at the Caverns (next door); the wines are quite good and offered for sale.

My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at Hudson & Essex. What a wonderful experience we had. Our server Alexander was exceptional. He helped to make our day special. The food, phenomenal. My wife had Spanish Shrimp, Lobster Bisque and Crab Cakes. I chose Mussels, Hungarian Mushroom Soup and the Flatiron Surf and Turf. Everything was 5 star from presentation to taste. Our desert, Cannoli’s for her and Crème Brûlée for him were provided free of charge in honor of our anniversary. In closing I would like to again mention Alexander. Thanks for the fun and special evening you helped to provide. Very much appreciated.

This was our first visit and it did not disappoint. The cocktails and the food were both amazing. The employees were all very friendly and professional, including a sense of humor which we appreciated. I'm assuming it was the owners that welcomed us and asked us both if we were enjoying ourselves, but they didn't introduce themselves. We received a free dessert for celebrating our anniversary, which was very kind. We will definitely go back. Our inside joke is that it was "Disney prices" as it's what we would expect to pay when vacationing at Disney World. But it's also the same level of cuisine, if not better. So well worth it.

We did not stay! I could not believe how much the menu prices have went up! It’s ridiculous for Mansfield ! We have eaten here many times before but it has been a bit. I do not think the food is worth what they are pricing it for now!

First time at Hudson Essex and was very pleased with the Easter Sunday buffet. There was a large selection of outstanding food. Also a large salad bar and eggs to order made the buffet complete. Looking forward to my next visit to Hudson Essex.
