Hudson and Essex is the premier restaurant of Mansfield’s rustbelt revitalization. Our sleek elegant space showcases a distinctive menu featuring local purveyors and wine from our own Cypress Hill Winery. Our menu changes with the seasons to keep our food fresh while keeping the customer favorites available all year.

Cypress Hill Winery is a boutique winery located beneath Hudson & Essex in the Carousel District of Mansfield, Ohio that remains loyal to the passion and the art of California wine. Family, friends (new and old), connoisseurs and novices alike are welcome. Join us! We look forward to meeting you.

For parties of 8 or more, we do require you to call in to the restaurant as we would need to make sure that we have enough tables available to accommodate you. We did this for the first time last year and it was a fully booked out hit! No expectations! We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Hudson and Essex in downtown Mansfield. The evening started with a perfect seat on their beautiful outdoor patio, which set the tone for what turned out to be a truly memorable night. I ordered the 8-ounce filet, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the crab cake, which was rich, delicate, and full of flavor. The Brussels sprouts were roasted just right with a touch of crispness, and the Parmesan truffle fries were absolutely addictive—crispy, savory, and aromatic. The drinks were just as impressive. Each cocktail was crafted with care and packed with flavor, complementing the meal beautifully. The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant, making it ideal for both a romantic night out or a special gathering. And to top it all off, the service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Hudson and Essex is a true standout in Mansfield. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit for great food, great drinks, and an unbeatable atmosphere.

Excellent restaurant! Food is impeccably prepared and presented! Brody was an excellent waiter, very personable and attended to our every need! Cannot recommend this restaurant enough, especially for special occasions.

We had a fabulous dinner celebrating our wedding anniversary! The menu was extensive, the service was perfect and the atmosphere was pleasant!

The server Hailey was sweet, but apparently was assigned TOO MANY tables. Our meal took 2 hours start to finish. Every table around us came in and was seated 15-30 minutes after us, and every table around us finished 30 minutes before we left. All tables around us had a different server other than ours. Apparently our server assigned to us had only our table in our section, and another server had all other tables in our section of the restaurant. The drinks were outstanding, as well as the food. The food is pricey, but great flavor. This was our anniversary dinner. Other restaurants in the area offer the same quality of food, with lower prices and likely better service. No meal should take 2 hours when the restaurant is not full, and you are seated when the restaurant is empty.

Last night, I visited a fantastic restaurant that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and seated quickly. The atmosphere had a lively yet cozy vibe, thanks to the live music. It set the perfect tone for an enjoyable evening. The food was absolutely wonderful. Each dish was packed with flavor and prepared with such care that every bite felt like a little celebration. I especially appreciated how accommodating they were when I mentioned my husband needed a vegan meal. The staff didn’t just make it work; they went above and beyond to ensure his dish was just as delicious and creative as the rest. It can be hard to find that level of effort, but they nailed it. The wine selection was another highlight. The choices were thoughtfully curated, and the glass we picked paired beautifully with our meals. It added an extra layer of enjoyment to everything we ordered. Finally, the service was top-notch. Our server was attentive and made sure our needs were met without any delays. We didn’t have to wait long for anything, which kept the evening flowing seamlessly. Between the flavorful meals, the welcoming environment, and the fantastic music, this restaurant gave us an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re looking for a place that combines delicious food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere, this spot is worth a visit!

It is always a pleasure to dine with Hudson & Essex (not Prohibition at the Caverns)! Reed is a fantastic waiter with great customer service skills and knowledge. Food is always top notch. WE love this place!

We were in the wine restaurant downstairs. Staff was very professional. While the first time in that part of the restaurant, we’ve eaten in upstairs, outside and at Prohibition at the Caverns. The owners always stop by to say hello and chat briefly. We think this is very nice and appreciate it. This was the first time we thought the food was just okay. Every other time, it’s been excellent. Everything else was very good.
