Hubbell & Hudson Bistro Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time at H&H. They were very friendly and gave us a tour of the property. The food was amazing. Who puts truffles in honey for the hot bread! The chicken fried quail was tender and had some heat. My Bronzino was served over a butternut squash ravioli. Simply out of this world. The croissant-based bread pudding provided a top notch wrap-up!! Chief Austin also came out to meet us! Impressive!
First visit to Hubbel & Hudson Bisto. The place has a great vibe. The service was excellent. Good martini menu and a fantastic wine list. The oysters on half shell were succulent and the chili sauce a great accompaniment. Sea bass was cooked to perfection. Also enjoyed a great desert menu and cappuccino to top off the meal. I would highly recommend for a date night.
It's hard to find anything to criticize about Hubbell & Hudson Bistro! The food is fantastic -- just different enough to be interesting but not intimidating! The deviled eggs with fried oysters -- amazing. The staff is friendly, accommodating, wonderful -- just like Chef Austin Simmons. Once you got to the Bistro it is just a matter of time before you will yearn for Cureight. An experience unlike any other in The Woodlands!
We went in support of Restaurant Week. The Restaurant Werk menu had great options for appetizer, entree and dessert. The meatballs were incredible. We loved the truffle handmade pasta. Our dinner server was great. We had drinks in the bar first and the servers there seemed more interested in each other than the customers. We have been to this restaurant many times and the food is the star!!!
We've been to hubbell and hudson before but this time it was a disappointment. We went for lunch on a Saturday. The menu for Houston restaurant week was lacking so we ordered from the regular menu. Service was super slow!! Took forever to order, to get our food etc. and it wasn't busy. Not sure why service was poor.
The menu was very impressive but the food was just ok. I sampled the deviled eggs with crispy oysters. The mayonnaise in the eggs was overwhelming. Lobster bisque was much too rich.
Very heavy cream. Tried the chicken fried quail. Covered in a spicy sauce. Not good.
Presentation was beautiful but again the food was not up to par. The waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu items. I would probably not return.
I have been to this restaurant twice in the past and I was impressed. Unfortunately, today's meal was average. Side dishes (Brussel sprouts, mushrooms, and rice) were good. The rest was fair. Facilities are worn and need a bit of a touch up. I live in town and have been spoiled by the wonderful dining in the city. I know that I am a tough critic.
The food and service at Hubbell & Hudson never disappoints. The chef seems to present his entrees in imaginative and delicious ways. One thing I have never liked about this bistro is the seating arrangement in the main dining room (on the lower level). The tables are small and too close together. You can hear you neighbors conversation and the banquette seating is not very comfortable. In the future, I will probably request to not be seated in this area. But this won't keep me from coming back for the delicious food.
wait staff was inattentive and apathetic. I felt like we were a burden to our waiter. The first two bottles of wine I ordered were out of stock. I received no apologies, just prolonged period of time between communication. I have eaten at this location many times and this is my first experience with poor service.
Our lunch at Hubbell and Hudson Bistro was fantastic! We started with a beautiful crusty bread with truffle butter and honey. I ordered the beet salad and added jerk chicken - It was absolutely delicious! My friend ordered the fried avocado to share- it was wonderful! Our server was very attentive and understood the menu and the flavors so well. This was a great experience - we will definitely be back!
Both myself and my Husband are vegetarian. Though the Menu never includes a Vegetarian option we have not yet been disappointed in the dinners the Chef has prepared for us. We have also dined with the Cureight menu, this was outstanding. Definitely our favourite restaurant here.
Since this was our first time (note: definitely not our last), the hostess offered a tour of the restaurant. Very nice touch. Very impressed with the variety of rooms and seating. Food was outstanding. Cheese & Charcutterie Board was fantastic. We shared one and really enjoyed it. The mousse on it was to die for. Great choice for an appetizer. The main courses were excellent. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the octopus was as tender as I have ever had. Alex, our server, was attentive but not overbearing. Perfect food, outstanding service. A comeback for sure.
We recently went there when we were in The Woodlands because I heard so many great things. I don't know if we ordered the wrong things but the food was pretty awful. My husband will eat just about anything and even he couldn't eat the crab cake. The server was great and so was everything else. The food was just a big disappointment.
