Hubbell & Hudson Bistro Ratings and Reviews
I've eaten lunch and dinner here, but Sunday was my first time having brunch here. My dining companion and I both enjoyed our meals. My blue crab omelet was delicious and the crab turned it into a decadent meal far from the ordinary. My dining companion's signature Benedict was perfectly cooked and scrumptious. The server was personable and attentive. Overall, it was the best breakfast I've had since moving to the Woodlands area.
Claudia was an excellent server! I thoroughly enjoyed my tasting and the wines paired well with each dish! I come frequently for the Van LoVern Pinotage ... I’ll be back hoping to get a taste of the crab topped truffle pasta! It was scrumptious!
Friends were visiting and we wanted to take them to a special brunch. This was our first trip and we were blown away. The restaurant is beautiful. The seating is lovely and cozy. The menu is very diverse and surprisingly affordable for such fare. Our food was perfection. We will return often.
My sister and I enjoyed eating at Hubbell & Hudson Bistro on 24 Waterway, The Woodlands, Texas is our new best restaurant. Our Chef Cortney Taraboi cooks to perfection. Wow and how great to have Chris Perry doing what he does best, making us feel like family. WE Will BE BACK SOON.
We dined there for New Years Eve. It was great to find a restaurant that would seat you late enough to make it till midnight. We had the wine pairing five course meal and it was very good. My experience with wine pairings has been that I didn't like at least one of the wines. I enjoyed every pairing. The menu was well thought out. The only improvement would be to bolster up the banquette seating so that you don't feel like a small child having a nice dinner.
Hubbell & Hudson Bistro is a fantastic restaurant. Everything was delicious, even the brussels sprouts (I abhor them normally, but somehow H&H made them extremely tasty). The steaks were tremendous and my wife devoured the kimchi mashed potatoes. I would also highly recommend their cocktails. The bartender was seasoned and made the drinks with the perfect amount of liquor in each drink. I cannot wait to go back.
The food was very good, our waiter was attentive and knew the menu well.
Apart from that it was a terrible experience, rushing the service to clear the table for the next customer, entree was served the minute the appetizer last mouthfull was taken, dessert was served while entree was still being eaten, the wine needed to be requested twice, then came when the steak was cold. 45 minutes to serve a 3 course Christmas lunch was unbelievably unprofessional for something claiming to be fine dining. Good food let down by greed to turn the table over.
Ok, it’s official. Hubble and Hudson is our favorite special occasion venue. Deciding to arrive early for our reservation and to enjoy happy hour, Kamela, our waitress from our Christmas Eve dinner A YEAR Ago, passed by and recognized us! So we requested to sit in her area again and once again had an exquisite evening. Great food, great service, just perfect. Now we’ll just have to make H&H a more frequent destination!
The food was amazing (the best crab cakes I’ve ever had, and I lived in Maryland for 15 yrs. ) Our server was very attentive, knowledgeable and professional. I didn’t care for the ambiance. The high backs of the booth made it private, but then we had to face one of the server stations. Also, it was quite drafty.
Thanksgiving dinner. Seated promptly. Good waiter. Crap cake appetizer was good. Garden salad was good. 3 people had the white meat turkey. All said was tough. I had the dark meat turkey. So much BBQ sauce on it made it taste like beef. Cornbread stuffing/muffin was terribly dry. The dessert was very good. My wife and I were hoping for a Thanksgiving tasting meal. Did not achieve it. Would not recommend for Thanksgiving meal.
Based on this experience, I would "not recommend Hubbell and Hudson Bistro to a friend". This experience, on Thanksgiving Day, no less, was terrible. If you eat an omnivorous diet, as does my daughter, it would have been fine, as she enjoyed her meal. I, however, eat a vegan diet, and my husband, eats vegetarian. I communicated this via the comments on Open Table when making my reservations, as well as to the person calling to confirm our reservation. I was told that although there was a "prix fixe" menu for Thanksgiving, preparing a vegan and vegetarian meals would be fine, and they do it often. Well, while ordering, the server (not blaming him), had no idea about the situation, and proceeded to ask me, "What vegetables do you like?" What? Well, what they brought us was awful, and a COMPLETE waste of money. We were both given a large serving of white rice (flavored with some herbs), with strips of beets, a few pieces of asparagus, a few cubes of butternut squash, and garnish. It was bland and quite disappointing. They were clearly NOT prepared, and paid no attention to the comment section of my reservation. Maybe they assumed we would just eat whatever they offered for that day. Well, no....If that had been the case, I would made a special request. If HHB had no intention of accommodating us, they should have told us, and, with no hard feelings, we would NOT have eaten there.
On a POSITIVE note, I have eaten at HHB on a couple of other other occasions, and with the same request, and they did a wonderful job. Whether for health, ethical, or environmental reasons, the vegan/vegetarian eater is not going away. The population of those eating this way is only going to grow.
Thanks for listening.

Our small wedding party didn’t make formal plans just a reservation for 5-however, the experience was lovely. Quiet, intimate and fantastic service with great attention to detail. Max anticipated our every need and we had a very private seating area. We’ll never forget the morning.
This restaurant is always a pleasure to eat at. The food is very consistent every time we go and the flavor of each dish I've had is always incredible. My favorite is the truffle crab pasta! The service is always impeccable as well. This is our absolute favorite restaurant in the Woodlands area!
