Hubbell & Hudson Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Our small wedding party didn’t make formal plans just a reservation for 5-however, the experience was lovely. Quiet, intimate and fantastic service with great attention to detail. Max anticipated our every need and we had a very private seating area. We’ll never forget the morning.
This restaurant is always a pleasure to eat at. The food is very consistent every time we go and the flavor of each dish I've had is always incredible. My favorite is the truffle crab pasta! The service is always impeccable as well. This is our absolute favorite restaurant in the Woodlands area!
We had a nice dinner there. Appetizers we're well done and better us liked their steak. The octopus was not so exciting, could have been some generic pasta dish and you'd never notice the difference.
But overall was great. My husband liked it so much we came back for some brunch-great real ground french press coffee, well done food. We sat outside so the it was relaxing and quiet.
Normaly I have had a great experience at Hubble & Hudson. This time they we out of the wine my wife ordered; they were out of prime rib for the prime rib sandwiches that we both ordered. They asked to substitute filet for the prime rib. Don’t make this mistake! The taste was OK, but the large pieces of steak with some gristle were impossible to eat with the soft bread. This was not a satisfying experience for this caliber of restaraunt.
Came here for brunch for a birthday, I was also at H&H the weekend before. Overall it was a good experience. I did not care for the blue crab omelet. I felt that that the egg was overcooked-the omelet egg was very stiff and it lacked flavor. The quail appetizer was much better than my entrée and definitely felt that it should've been better. Also, originally I booked table for 5 at 12, then added two more to make it party of 7. When I called the hostess told me she had nothing and may need to put us in the lounge. I said okay...and we arrived on time-the restaurant was only 25% occupied, back room, lounge, bar, and patio all empty and 1/4 empty in the front. I felt it was misleading.
Service was attentive without being intrusive. Selections from the Houston Restaurant Weeks lunch menu were tasty (as always) and very filling (took some home). Only thing I might change is to cut the sandwich in 1/2. I had the Parmesan and aged provolone beignets, then the marinated beef tenderloin tip sandwich with garlic fries.
H&H Bistro is one of my favorite places to eat in the Woodlands. Food is always fresh and tasty. Service is uniformly excellent.
Usually I would leave a better review, but my experience was the utmost mediocre and disappointing for a "special" dinner. Don't get me wrong the food was amazing. But the service towards us was sub par. It wasn't personalized, there was no attempt at human connection. Or trying to get to know us the guests. The table adjacent to us appeared to receive world class service, with their favorite bottle of wine. Regardless if they were regular customers or not, everyone should have The same experience. More so.. Especially at a fine dining restaurant!. I would expect that. They appeared to be having a date night, and yet we were "just celebrating a special occasion" and it was disappointing because it did not feel special at all. I know where not to celebrate next time around.
This was our first time at H&H. They were very friendly and gave us a tour of the property. The food was amazing. Who puts truffles in honey for the hot bread! The chicken fried quail was tender and had some heat. My Bronzino was served over a butternut squash ravioli. Simply out of this world. The croissant-based bread pudding provided a top notch wrap-up!! Chief Austin also came out to meet us! Impressive!
First visit to Hubbel & Hudson Bisto. The place has a great vibe. The service was excellent. Good martini menu and a fantastic wine list. The oysters on half shell were succulent and the chili sauce a great accompaniment. Sea bass was cooked to perfection. Also enjoyed a great desert menu and cappuccino to top off the meal. I would highly recommend for a date night.
It's hard to find anything to criticize about Hubbell & Hudson Bistro! The food is fantastic -- just different enough to be interesting but not intimidating! The deviled eggs with fried oysters -- amazing. The staff is friendly, accommodating, wonderful -- just like Chef Austin Simmons. Once you got to the Bistro it is just a matter of time before you will yearn for Cureight. An experience unlike any other in The Woodlands!
We went in support of Restaurant Week. The Restaurant Werk menu had great options for appetizer, entree and dessert. The meatballs were incredible. We loved the truffle handmade pasta. Our dinner server was great. We had drinks in the bar first and the servers there seemed more interested in each other than the customers. We have been to this restaurant many times and the food is the star!!!
We've been to hubbell and hudson before but this time it was a disappointment. We went for lunch on a Saturday. The menu for Houston restaurant week was lacking so we ordered from the regular menu. Service was super slow!! Took forever to order, to get our food etc. and it wasn't busy. Not sure why service was poor.
