Our menus are designed to reflect the spirit of Kaua'i and its bounty of ingredients from the pastures, the farms and the ocean. We have established relationships with six local farms and ranchers as well as our own farm onsite to locally source as many ingredients as possible.
This Timbers development Restaurant affords beautiful vistas of the Nawiliwili Harbor. The local fish specials were tasty and the table was set for a wonderful evening. Unfortunately our waitress disappeared for long periods of time especially right after dinner when we wanted to pay our bill and depart.
Delicious food, great service and atmosphere.
Even though the weather was not optimal, the view and service made up for the cool evening. We felt pampered the entire evening and the food was excellent. The only negative would be that the soup I ordered could have been served hotter, but the taste of the corn chowder was perfect. My husband enjoyed his catch of the day and the fish was cooked to perfection, no overcooking!
Everything was outstanding. The service was also exceptional. It was definitely pricey which means we prob won’t go back but worth it for a special occasion.
As others have said, the view, fantastic, the service, fantastic, the food, meh. The Avocado/Ahi appetizer was great, the taro chips, stale and too small to dip with. The Seared Ahi, way too small and the purple mashed potato (I think that is what it was), tastless. The Shrimp Stir Fry, shrimp were good, the rest, meh. And the menu, not much to select from, everyone does the fish well except here...
Our server, Matt, was exceptional. Thai snapper and Thai salad were excellent. Setting is beautiful
We welcome this addition to the fine dining scene on Kauai. We visited on a cooler than normal evening with a brisk wind blowing through the dining room. The staff provide beach towels to provide warming. Several of the foods were outstanding such as the hamachi sashimi and the exquisite banana-chocolate-macademia nut lumpia for dessert. My wife's chicken and tortilla soup was average. We ordered medium rare 12 ounce ribeye steaks for the entree. The steaks were instead served medium with sauteed onions on top that were so salty as to be unpalatable. Once the onions were removed, the steaks were tasty. The chimichurri sauce served with the steak was delicious. The mashed Okinawa potatoes were only lukewarm and not notable. The restaurant has an extensive wine list of good choices at prices that are reasonable for the fine dining restaurants on Kauai. Overall the restaurant has potential and we hope the entire output begins to match the outstanding scenic vies.
The view is spectacular. The menu choices are very limited and the food itself was awful. This is the first time I did not finish a dessert EVER. How can you mess up lava cake? I suspect it was just the frozen version, heated up a bit but not enough. Quesadilla was about the only appealing item on the menu and it could have been a Taco Bell version. But did I mention the view is fabulous. Reservations problems, couldn't get the time I wanted. Only two other tables were occupied the entire time we were there. 10 minute wait to be noticed and seated and then didn't mark that I showed up for my Open Table reservation. 18% service charged added for a party of two! But the view is wonderful!
We won't be back even for that view!
Yesterday, on my birthday, I received the most amazing service from the staff at Timbers. I want to particularly acknowledge Kaylee at Hualani's who offered fantastic wine and meal suggestions. The food was amazing and the property is beautiful, but Kaylee made the night the most special. I truly appreciate people like her who go the extra mile to help create a memorable experience. I would also like to say a special thank you to Mel at the front desk who also provided superb service! I will definitely return to Timbers when I come back to Kauai!
Very good. Wait person was excellent!
Phenomenal per usual. A little chilly, bring a jacket if it’s windy.
Limited menu....bartender didn’t know what bourbons were available....seemed rushed....after our meals were served we had to say “could we please get the wine we ordered”....service person announced specials but no prices....restaurant seemed temporary....might return when upgraded menu is established and ambiance improved and wait staff better trained....
Spectacular views. It was windy and cold and they provided beach towels to keep warm. Service was attentive. Food was ok; a bit salty.
Steak was somewhat tough. Otherwise, food was good. Very good salad. Loved the beets!
We had a great meal. The ambience was great, the service was excellent and the price was pretty good compared to other places we ate in Kauai. Probably the best meal we had while on the island. We ate there twice. The second time we did the farm to table special which was good but I liked the regular menu better. Would highly recommend.
The only enhancement Hualani’s needs is a saucier.
The preparation and presentation of the entrees is excellent. However, something is missing. After some thought we have decided it is the lack of a first rate sauce to enhance all the elements and tie them together. If this final step was added the food would rocket up to 5 star,
Beautiful location superb food and value. We thought the service was excellent and it was our favorite meal on Kauai
Can't say enough good things: great service, excellent food, good wine list and the setting is beautiful and romantic. Everything farm to table. Highly recommend!
Awesome views. Great find on our last day on way to airport.
We really enjoyed Hualani’s. We had the Ono Ceviche which was delicious and the Shrimp appetizer which was also delicious. The plantain chips were great.
Some had the hamburger which was very well cooked and yummy and others had the risotto which they liked after they removed the extra vegetables. After dinner we had the Coconut Flan and Egg roll dessert. We enjoyed both of these. All in all a great birthday dinner.
delicious and stunningly gorgeous. would recommend to anyone and will be back!
This place was surprisingly good! I was totally impressed with all of the flavors - they were amazing. I even liked the dessert - normally it’s too sweet for me, but their dessert was fantastic. AND the chef let me add another entree to their special menu!
The food was fine the service was good. Great view!!
Service, food ambiance and views were excellent.
Food was amazing along with the service. Would be nice if there’s more food options.
New year eve
Beautiful setting, good food, friendly service. Hard to find, but very pretty getting there.
If you are looking for a restaurant with a view, this place is worth a visit, at least once.
Diverse menu with top quality ingredients.
A walk outside the hotel toward the West offers a breath taking view of Nawiliwili harbor.
The food was fabulous. Although the menu was limited, we found options for each of us that were delicious. The setting was magnificent.
A wonderful restaurant with beautiful views of the bay. Great ambiance and the service personnel were great!
The sushi and poke station was wonderful! Loved the selection of 3 different kinds of rice for the poke bowl!
The grill station was a nice change with great selections!
The dessert cakes and pies were delicious and the shave ice station was very refreshing with very interesting syrup flavors!
Overall a great experience and hope to come and experience future buffets.
Chef will only cook the steak medium well. There's no other choice. The opakapaka was so over cooked I thought it was fish jerky. Service was so slow
Nice to have another restaurant in this area. Definitely more LA than Hawai’i. Even for small parties (4) they try to request 18% service charge. Unfortunately, that high-handedness left us less wanting to head back, but we will, as good food is hard to come by in Lihue or on the Marriott properties. Resort is beautiful and understandably a resort becoming better known over time.
Service was awful, charged you 18% so there is no motivation to give good service. Food was fair at best. Charged us $48.00 for 2 Pina Colada’s!. Don’t waste your time dining here.
A hidden gem. So friendly and relaxing. I would definitely recommend doing this at least once.
Great food, great service great view, enjoy every minute, welcome back again soon .
I can't say enough about Timbers Resort and this amazing restaurant -- a true undiscovered gem. Only opened in July and apparently it is the best-kept secret on the island. Best meal experience perhaps ever -- such an incredible setting. The environment is absolutely beautiful from the moment you drive on to the resort. Stunning in every way -- elegant, chic, and classy with exceptional views in every direction.
Kaylie, our server, was unparalleled in her professionalism and care; we could not have asked for better service. Support staff was also excellent and our water glasses never went empty for a minute.
Not only was the food outstanding and freshly gathered from the on-property farm, but every item was delicious and unique. We commented on how much we enjoyed the salad and Kaylie went so far as to photograph a copy of the recipe for us. After dinner, she suggested that we spend some time enjoying the pool and lounge area. Once the torches were lit and the fire pit was turned on, the setting changed to a nighttime paradise. It's actually hard to believe that such an amazing place exists on the island and so few people know about it. So at the risk of revealing the secret of this perfect paradise to others, I can say with confidence that it would be nearly impossible to surpass the experience of an evening at Hualani's. Surprisingly, prices were also quite reasonable. Well done!
The ceviche was outstanding! Excellent view, perfect for a summer day.
Had a wonderful evening!! We’ll be back!! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The dinner was so delish!!
The food was fantastic and Kaylee is amazing! You are lucky to have her!
It's a new restaurants and you can tell they're still a work in progress but it was a terrific experience and the food was great.
