What started as just a counter and a few tables has grown into a place where generations come together to celebrate summer at the Jersey Shore! Famous for the Original French Fried Lobster and award winning chowder, Howard's has been serving Long Beach Island visitors and locals since 1950!

I never had French Fried lobster before and it was very tasty. I also had the mouth watering filet mignon with it. My husband had broiled flounder, crab cakes,scallops and shrimp. The meal was outstanding A real treat. We had a window seat and very friendly and attentive waiter. I like the fact that it was BYOB also. The prices were a little higher than what we are used to, but the food was worth it extremely tasty. I would highly recommend it, especially for a special occasion. We will return. thank you Howards for a wonderful experience.

Appetizers are over price. Bruschetta was two pieces of toast with a little mozzarella and tomatoes. Crab cakes were VERY disappointing, looked and felt stringy with no taste. Shrimp and scallops were good. I think there are better places on the island for the price and the quality of food. Our server was excellent.

Howard’s never disappoints!! Food was delicious. Service was great. The only small downfall is that it’s a bit loud but it would not deter me from coming back!

Great service. Our waitress was attentive and nice. The soups were great, they were out of mussels, the entrees were ok. Very limited dessert menu.
