House Without a Key
Need to book at 4:00 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Hands down one of the best spots for dinner or cocktails with a stunning sunset view in all of Waikiki. We had drinks and small bites while listening to the velvety Hawaiian trio that played that night. We were there on a clear night and soaked in every minute of the sunset. Wandered around the hotel shops and then into the street for a while as valet parking was free for the first 4 hours! Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service. Live music was relaxing and intimate. Perfect evening under the stars and palm trees. Best mai tai ever.
Great breakfast buffet, always fresh and delicious. We love the atmosphere of outdoors, breeze, ocean
Very disappointed with the service and food. Chicken was dry. Salmon undercooked. Bolognese tasteless. Waiter was not attentive and a bit distracted.
Service and ambience was great - excellent mai tais as well,
Shrimp cocktail was disappointing - 5 not so big shrimp compared to other fine dining inHonolulu. The mahi-mahi was well prepared but for the price not very substantial - had better and larger portions of fish at Roy’s
We are local people and rarely dine out, especially at a 5 star hotel like Halekulani. My sister and I were respectfully treated and warmly greeted by the valet. Our reservation was at 5pm when the sun is setting. The hostess graciously assured us that it would be only for a short time. Our waiter Stefano (?) was outstanding. Music was nahe nahe. Maika`i nou.
Good Thanksgiving dinner. Unfortunately, they sat us on the outskirts of the patio so we had to change tables a couple times due to the heat of the direct sun. We spent $450 for dinner and drinks (2 adults 2 teens). Service was great, though a bit slow and the waiters told us they hadn’t had a break all day, which was sad, but it was a good time overall. We may return!
We celebrated Thanksgiving with friends in this beautiful atmosphere
This was the 1st time I've been to House Without A Key; but have been to Orchid's & La Mer many times for years.
Was actually surprised (in a good way).
Although we waited for several minutes to be seated, we were given a table tucked away that was very quiet right along beach side of the restaurant. It provided our group the ability to have very tranquil & beautiful setting and afforded us the ability to converse. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we ended up
staying at the table for about 3 hours!!
The service was exceptional.
We came here to celebrate our 6th anniversary. We were sat at a table on the far right section of the restaurant. Under bright, hot lights, I was extremely warm throughout the entire dinner. The evening weather itself was perfect, but under those lights, it was miserable. When I walked through the restaurant to go to the restroom, I noticed a bunch of empty tables in the middle section and the left section which had better, less intense lighting. It made me wonder why we were seated in what I will continue to refer to as the “abandoned” section.
Service was mediocre and disappointing to be honest considering all the positive reviews. I’m all about the relaxed and slower paced environments, but I felt like we were in the abandoned section.
Food was ok at best. For the price, we could have had a better meal elsewhere. My husband ordered the seafood stew, which required more salt. I ordered the short ribs which were good, but slightly on the over seasoned side.
Kudos to the restaurant for recognizing our anniversary and giving us a free dessert. That was sweet of them.
Overall, would I come back? No.
It was amazing from the moment we were seated. Our server was awesome, sweet and knowledgeable of the menu. Loved every moment . The dinner music and hula was amazing also and set a wonderful atmosphere.
This is a restaurant we go to again and again. It is on the beach on Waikiki. We love it here. The staff is so nice, the food is wonderful. Old Hawaii.
It was great! Staff was so nice and accommodating. Atmosphere was fantastic and sunset was very pretty. Food was very good. Overall an excellent experience.
The food was excellent. The ambience was wonderful. It was exactly what we wanted for dinner.
Attentive staff and great food.
Highly recommend dining here. The aviance was romantic, service was wonderful, and the food was superb. Lucky to have a table in direct view of the live entertainment.
Service was excellent. Best food we have had in a long time. Great atmosphere with the Hawaiian music. Halekulani is definitely the top hotel in Waikiki.
We love Theresa as our server... smiley, friendly, always great!
This is a delightful outdoor restaurant by Waikiki beach. It has beautiful live Hawaiian music from a slack key trio, the ambiance is laid back and sophisticated. Overall the noise volume is low - conversation is easy to hear and the slightly older clientele are not raucous. The staff are friendly, chill and very professional. We sat by the sea for cocktails and sunset, then moved to a table for a wonderful dinner. Our waiter helped us select a variety of dishes so we didn't overeat (our failing) and the food was outstandingly delicious. We really enjoyed our visit - and the Mai Tais which are glorious. We parked at the Halekulani parking structure opposite the hotel (end of the block, floors 5 thru 8) and HWaK validated it for 4 hours which gave us a moonlight stroll too. Sublime!
It was a disappointment. Overpriced and the food was not very good. I would hope that the service would be excellent bout it was also an average. Will not go back.
Very pleasant lunch. Beautiful view of Waikiki. Food was very good and service was excellent.
Excellent service and attention to detail. Nice ambiance and the food was delicious! Mahalo.
Always a very nice experience. Service is terrific, limited menu but what they have is great.
While on vacation, met a friend here for lunch. The food and ambiance were great. When I accidentally dropped my lemon from my iced tea, the waiter saw what happened and literally replaced it within seconds. In fact so quickly we all laughed about it. Perfect place to soak in the Hawaii atmosphere while eating good food at a reasonable price. I also picked this place because I didn’t want it to be too noisy, so we were able to have a nice conversation.
Everything was wonderful. Thank you so much. You guys made it a very special night.
This restaurant came up on our list of best places to eat and was right next door to our hotel. Great food, great atmosphere and a good mix of people from families to couples of all generations.
Awesome atsmosphere to watch the sun set, listen to Hawaiian music and enjoy the company of others
Food, ambiance and service was good. Coconut shrimp was slightly overcooked. What was shocking was the uncleanliness of the women’s restroom. It was filthy! There was toilet paper all over, empty roll tubes on the floor, wastebaskets overflowing with trash and the counters had paper towels all over. Quite surprising for the Halekulani.
Greatest Mai Tais in Hawaii.
