House Without a Key
Need to book at 10:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Beautiful setting, attentive and friendly service. Food was done to order and was high quality and well presented.
Planning on dining at Halekulani again.
Always a wonderful dining experience
Lovely scenery for a romantic date night but unfortunately the food was underwhelming. Not enough seasoning to enhance any dish we ordered. I was especially surprised at the lack of flavor with the soup of the day - Kimchi Soup. It tasted like saltless vegetable soup, where’s the Sriracha? Definitely an overhyped restaurant due to its beauty.
Celebrated my girlfriends birthday of 35 years
Been multiple times; this was a special occasion, and we asked for a nicer table...didn’t get it. Food was great, just not worth the money. The sad part was the service...server was not friendly, almost like we were annoying him. I was disappointed overall.
Views are great, service is pretty good, but the food was so bland and disappointing. $55 for the most tasteless seafood stew I've ever had, and my girlfriend's dish wasn't much better. You're definitely paying for location. Recommend just grabbing drinks here and maybe a snack to watch the sunset, don't spend the nearly 180 bucks after tip that we did on entrees, an app and drinks.
Great service. Okay food.
Excellent dining experience. Great food and cocktails.
Date night great
This time I visited my father's birthday. When I came back, the lobster menu was delicious and I visited again, but I was sorry that the lobster menu was stopped two months ago. The ambiance was still good and the servers were friendly but the food tasted a bit disappointing.
The best service around! Our server, Melissa, was the best, she was so very nice and attentive. She made our birthday celebration dinner even more amazing!! Thanks Melissa!!
This is the best breakfast buffet in Waikiki! Wonderful food for the price and you can't beat the setting.
Absolutely fantastic. Great views, the food was incredibly satisfying. I had the prime rib while my boyfriend had the steamed onaga. Great ambience as well.
Best Mai Tai in the world
The Huli chicken was very dry. Asked for a new piece but all the same the server told us. Fish of the day was Mahi and it was a very small piece but cooked okay. Definitely was disappointed given the level of hotel we are staying at. Much better food nearby like Ruth Chris for steak or Tommy Bahama for seafood.
Overall experience was good. Dropped one star as didn’t get seated close to entertainment as desired even though requested through open table. Also dropped one star as the Onaga was surprisingly salty. But the excellent waiter service and slice of coconut helped make up for it.
Amazing great place
Came for breakfast due to google search recommending. Food was average at best and wasn’t a vast array for $39 before tax and tip. I felt that the service was okay, nothing brilliant. Looking back I think this place may have been more suitable for cocktails and a sunset.
Always perfect. Thank you.
Amazing experience as we have encountered previously in visits over 5 years ago! Mai tai is a must-have watching the sunset.
Other than having to wait for 15 minutes despite having a reservation, the experience was very positive. We highly recommend the coconut cake very fluffy.
Your food was sub par beginning with the breadsticks and bread. Served cold with no spice or interesting dipping sauce, they were actually terrible. My basic salad was decent. The red snapper was not great at all. grilled pieces with no spice or sauce whatsoever. Dessert, afogato was ok. The ambiance was wonderful on the other. It is a shame the food does not live up to the surroundings.
I reserve 5 stars for extremely special dining experiences. This is truly a 4.8
The food was delicious (Joy's Special - crab salad sandwich). There were 5 of us and we all managed to find something we really wanted. Everyone was very happy. The setting is fabb. The view spectacular.
The service was a bit slow but the waiter was kind and did his absolute best. I recommend you treat yourself to this dining experience. We had lunch there - weather perfect. I enjoyed a Prosecco and my friend had a Planter's Punch.
Try it for a special moment. Recommend!
Excellent service, food quality and portions. The price is high; however, the large portions, food quality and great service means that the price is an excellent value.
Hamburger arrived without a bun (???) and they took it upon themselves to replace the fries with a salad without asking us. Two dishes were cold and inedible to the point where they comped those entrees. The manager came out to apologize but overall it was not a good experience. Cannot recommend after that letdown of a night.
Felt very rushed and the food was ok. Not worth the money, but ok.
This place has a beautiful view and live music going for it.
The service was not impressive. When you go to a nicer establishment you expect a certain level of service. The front desk was overwhelmed and wait staff to familiar as guest. He actually stopped to my sitting position to take my order.
Items on the menu were not available. Food tasted good but certainly not worth the price.
First time at this restaurant, party of 4 for dinner. The evening started off well. The location and the band were great. The cocktails, appetizers and service - our server and the rest of the staff were wonderful - were also great. The meals though, were awful! We got the ahi tuna special, which was an overdone, thin, piece of tuna. Who would let that out of their kitchen? We also got the stew...priced around $55, and it too was overdone, with about the toughest-to-chew lobster we’ve ever had. We eat out a lot, at nice places. I’ve never given a ‘2’ rating, however House Without a Key earned this rating with the particularly poor quality entrees.
Best Mai Tai!!! It is priced on the higher side but we enjoyed our experience.
Great atmosphere with live music, seated at tables under umbrellas and served creatively prepared dishes. Unfortunately our service did not start well. We arrived a few minutes late for our 7:30 p.m. reservation and had to wait ten minutes for our table. We were not alone as several others with the same reservation time had not been seated. Once seated, the service was pretty good, and we really enjoyed the live music and good food.
