"...House of Lasagna's warm décor--amber walls and colorful framed poster art--provides a handsome showcase for some of Midtown's most value-packed trattoria dishes. The Lasagna Bolognese, for instance, is $12 and includes a small salad with first-rate bread. Travelers from nearby hotels and neighborhood residents have keep this place hummming..."

We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the lasagna was! It's a small spot but cozy. Owner's sister was quite helpful with the menu. Was pleased that they offered a taste of the wine of the night before we bought it. We'll definitely go back!

I have been walking by the restaurant for years and had no expectations that I would like it based solely on the name but, having unexpectedly gone there for a late dinner, was very pleasantly surprised. The lasagna is really good, the prices are reasonable and the service is friendly.

Perfect place to catch up with a friend after work. It's a cozy place. The fried calamari was delicious, the lasagna was good- not great, and I would have liked fresher warmer bread. Other than that, the service was great, the waiter was excellent,& friendly and For NYC, the price was reasonable. I will definitely return!

Service was excellent but the house special "favorite " lasagna was just average and the lasagna noodles were mushy. The Caesar and Apple/Gorgonzola salads were, unfortunately, tasteless. Was expecting the lasagna to knock my socks off, but sadly it didn't.

Not sure why this restaurant participates on OpenTable when they 1) tell you flat out they don’t take reservations if you call the place directly (not even suggesting you need to make it through OpenTable) and 2) have you wait 25 minutes after your reservation time to be seated. Bottom line, the food was okay and the service very good.

I had made reservations for 5 people at 7 pm. It was crowded when we got there. There was a lady at the front handling the checks and take out deliveries (possibly the owner?). I walked up to her and when she turned around, I simply said that I have a reservation at 7. She snapped at me and said “You’ll have to wait. I’m in the middle of something.” So much for a welcoming greeting. So I said “please, take your time”. I thought it customary to let the host(ess) know upon arrival that you’re there. I understand that she felt overwhelmed because the restaurant was busy (she should be glad to have that problem, no?), but snapping at customers doesn’t seem to make good business sense.

After a 25 min wait, we were finally seated. It should be noted that because we were 5 people, the only table big enough to accommodate us was the last one in the back. That table was occupied at 7 pm but the people sitting there finished and left at 7:05. It took 20 min to set the table up??? Once we were seated, it took 10 min to get menus and bread for the table.

After we got menus, the service was much much better. I won’t blame our waiter, a very nice young guy who was attentive and quick to respond if we needed anything. He really was doing his best and if anything saved the evening, it was him. After all, let’s be honest here. Service is a key factor in the overall dining experience.

Sadly, this was my first and last visit to this restaurant.

I come here every time I stay in the city for the NYC marathon. The food is always good and the service is great. You can get home-style Italian food in a cozy environment. It's nothing fancy or showy but it's exactly what I wanted. Also, there was only one waitor but he made sure everyone felt taken care of. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a sweet neighborhood spot that the locals frequent.

I went to this restaurant at last minute once I found out my uncle was in town for the night. The waiter was extremely attentive, continuously refilled our waters, and never made us feel rushed to leave the restaurant even when the restaurant was completely filled with people. Very reasonably priced, flavorful food.

Nice, simple, good value food. Nothing fancy but well executed. At first sight, it seems like a tourist trap (name and red sign letters in the front), but that's really not the case.

We weren't able to go so don't like the concept of forfeiting your gift certificate if you're not able to go. I will never give someone an Open Table certificate because of this.

Came here with a friend who is always under the gun in terms of time. Ordered the house red (mediocre, but filled the need on a cold day) and the "house specialty" - Lasagna Bolognese. It came with a very limp green salad. And while the lasagne had a good sauce and went down easily, the texture of the pasta was odd: almost as if it was made with potatoes - a strange, loose texture. Easy going down, but I've certainly had better pasta, by far, than this. In addition, it seemed as if there was only one waiter who ended up being very busy and not particularly attentive when we requested the check and indicated that we had a time constraint.
All in all, if you are desperately seeking a lunch place at the last minute, you could fall into the House and be fine. But I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than comfort food and a last-minute choice simply because that would mean I would go out of my way to eat here. And I wouldn't.
