Needed to find a nice restaurant near Grand Central to meet up with friends visiting from Australia. House of Lasagna had a menu that appealed to all the guests. The service was tremendous, atmosphere was pleasant, we could carry on a conversation with anyone seated at the table.
We had a very nice dinner and would definitely recommend the restaurant to other diners.
My wife and I were looking for some good lasagna and spaghetti & meatballs and House of Lasagna was fantastic. Very small and intimate. Service was great! We will definitely go back.
Hidden gem! Excellent meal and service. They let us sit and chat for almost 3 hours and never rushed us. A fun afternoon!
Good food great service
Booked last minute. Pasta was fresh and server was excellent. Small restaurant but very intimate nice time
Don't be fooled by the front of the restaurant, go in and you'll enjoy great Lasagna!
House of Lasagna is a hidden gem in NYC. Excellent food and service along with reasonable prices. I highly recommend this restaurant!!
Great neighborhood spot! Simply delicious Italian food, carafe of wonderful red wine and friendly, efficient staff! Our new Go To restaurant!
Yummy! Classic lasagna is amazing! Will be back!
Was very disappointed with the white sangria. It tasted just like seltzer water. We got the $21 pitcher. Not worth it.
The food was ok, we got the express lunch. Service was attentive.
It was a great at house of lasagna
Our meal was very good and all six of us enjoyed different kinds of lasagna. Service was friendly and professional. This is a great venue
We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the lasagna was! It's a small spot but cozy. Owner's sister was quite helpful with the menu. Was pleased that they offered a taste of the wine of the night before we bought it. We'll definitely go back!
I have been walking by the restaurant for years and had no expectations that I would like it based solely on the name but, having unexpectedly gone there for a late dinner, was very pleasantly surprised. The lasagna is really good, the prices are reasonable and the service is friendly.
Perfect place to catch up with a friend after work. It's a cozy place. The fried calamari was delicious, the lasagna was good- not great, and I would have liked fresher warmer bread. Other than that, the service was great, the waiter was excellent,& friendly and For NYC, the price was reasonable. I will definitely return!
It was great
the spinach lasagna was fantastic!! a truly cozy and wonderful place. highly recommend.
Service was excellent but the house special "favorite " lasagna was just average and the lasagna noodles were mushy. The Caesar and Apple/Gorgonzola salads were, unfortunately, tasteless. Was expecting the lasagna to knock my socks off, but sadly it didn't.
The food was really food. from the outside it realy looks like One of These Restaurants, which i Never would enter. But it was a Bit romantic atmosphere.
We all liked it !!
Cute place , food was good, however not exceptional ,where I would go out of my way to go back
This was my first time at House of Lasagna but it won't be my last. The food, service was excellent! I highly recommend!
Yummy Lasagna. Excellent, attentive service. Good value.
great food and great table service. me and by boyfriend both got the lasagna and a bottle of champagne for a $70, not bad for a sunday dinner.
Not sure why this restaurant participates on OpenTable when they 1) tell you flat out they don’t take reservations if you call the place directly (not even suggesting you need to make it through OpenTable) and 2) have you wait 25 minutes after your reservation time to be seated. Bottom line, the food was okay and the service very good.
I had made reservations for 5 people at 7 pm. It was crowded when we got there. There was a lady at the front handling the checks and take out deliveries (possibly the owner?). I walked up to her and when she turned around, I simply said that I have a reservation at 7. She snapped at me and said “You’ll have to wait. I’m in the middle of something.” So much for a welcoming greeting. So I said “please, take your time”. I thought it customary to let the host(ess) know upon arrival that you’re there. I understand that she felt overwhelmed because the restaurant was busy (she should be glad to have that problem, no?), but snapping at customers doesn’t seem to make good business sense.
After a 25 min wait, we were finally seated. It should be noted that because we were 5 people, the only table big enough to accommodate us was the last one in the back. That table was occupied at 7 pm but the people sitting there finished and left at 7:05. It took 20 min to set the table up??? Once we were seated, it took 10 min to get menus and bread for the table.
After we got menus, the service was much much better. I won’t blame our waiter, a very nice young guy who was attentive and quick to respond if we needed anything. He really was doing his best and if anything saved the evening, it was him. After all, let’s be honest here. Service is a key factor in the overall dining experience.
Sadly, this was my first and last visit to this restaurant.
An authentic trattoria - a neighborhood gem. Great choice of pastas. Delicious ravioli and lasagna. First class service and a warm atmosphere. Very good value all round. Well worth a return visit.
Very good food at a reasonable price. The waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating. Only issue was that there was no place to wait while waiting for our table.
Very good ! Would go again!
I come here every time I stay in the city for the NYC marathon. The food is always good and the service is great. You can get home-style Italian food in a cozy environment. It's nothing fancy or showy but it's exactly what I wanted. Also, there was only one waitor but he made sure everyone felt taken care of. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a sweet neighborhood spot that the locals frequent.
I went to this restaurant at last minute once I found out my uncle was in town for the night. The waiter was extremely attentive, continuously refilled our waters, and never made us feel rushed to leave the restaurant even when the restaurant was completely filled with people. Very reasonably priced, flavorful food.
I highly recommend House of Lasagna. The food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were great. I look forward to returning the next time I'm back in the city.
Cute little restaurant right around the corner from the Grand Hyatt and Grand Central Station. Food and service were excellent and it was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back the next time we are in NYC.
Would definitely go back, great food, friendly service and ambiance!
Great place. Very good food. Like homemade. Relaxed atmosphere.
We stayed a long time to talk. Very nice friendly staff. Highly recommend.
We ate at the House of Lobster on a recent weekend visit to the city. Excellent food and service. Highly recommended!
Delicious ravioli and, of course, their Lasagna was amazing. Tasty calamari and tiramisu!!! Will be going back for more!!!
Great eatery, what a find
What a pleasure to find a quiet, affordable restaurant in mid town! Not fancy, but lovely & satisfying after a busy day.
Nice, simple, good value food. Nothing fancy but well executed. At first sight, it seems like a tourist trap (name and red sign letters in the front), but that's really not the case.
Always good. Quiet, cozy, delicious, friendly. Been around for years and never disappoints.
Enjoyed the home- made tasting pasta and the warm service. Very personable waiter. Great for our reunion lunch. We shall return.
This restaurant is a gem! The service is outstanding and you are greeted as if you were part of the family. The food is phenomenal , well prepared and presented. I would highly recommend this restaurant for all occasions.
