Lovely fun environment for adults. The magician comedian Lucy Darling is as outstanding.
This is a great place for a date night or outing with friends or whatever your special occasion is. We went on a Monday night and it was not too crowded at all. Very intimate.
Definitely a unique experience. The ambiance, drinks and food were great! The entertainment was good too (there was one trick that I noticed went awry). It came at a price, but overall it was a good time.
We enjoyed our first time at house of cards. We especially liked the magicians both at the show and the smaller venues. I had the grilled halibut. It was very flavorful but slightly over cooked. The blue cheese potato and sprouts which we shared were very good.
Surprised no bread was offered. My husband had to he Osso Bucca which he said was good but overcooked. We shared a complimentary flourless chocolate cake with cherries for his birthday. I had a drink which the waiter said was very sweet. It was. Over all a unique experience and a fun place to bring guests.
If you include the shows the high price if the food for what you get was reasonable.
The food was amazing! There were some questionable food that was a part of the halibut that none of enjoyed but the rest was delicious! Our party had the halibut, filet mignon and the leg of rabbit. All great! The Brussels sprouts are a must try!
The main magician show was very entertaining and fun as well as all the street magicians. Constant amazement at their skills and ability to entertain! Going on a Sunday evening was not as crowded as a weekend so we were able to sit up close with every magician. Definitely a fun night out!
We went during Sunday brunch. Birthday was not acknowledged even though we mentioned when making the reservation online. We had to ask the waiter multiple times to refill our waters. Shrimp and raw oyster bar were good. Overall we felt the rest of the food was good but nothing special. We were all disappointed there was not a dessert table; Just a tiny “dessert waffle” table. Kids loved the magic tables during brunch and the magic show in theatre was fantastic.
Wonderful experience. Loved the ambiance. Food was plentiful and delicious. The “corner” magicians were really amazing. I felt the show itself was geared toward children. Simple but entertaining.
We were there for Sunday brunch. So many families with children.
Wonderful food and service. The magic is so fun and entertaining. This is a fun place to spend a night.
Brought family and friends to enjoy and evening out. It was a great time!
Great food, atmosphere and show
Had a great time. Noise level was high. Table behind us was so loud couldn’t hear.
Food great!! Magic was excellent. What a great birthday dinner.
Took my husband there for a birthday surprise. House of cards has been on our list of places to go eventually. So happy we finally did it! The food was amazing and the magicians are mind blowing, for lack of a better phrase. It was also nice to go to a place that wants you to dress up for an evening out. That doesn’t happen very many places these days. Makes it feel even more special.
House of Cards sounded like it would be fun, and it did not disappoint! My colleague and I went for dinner on Friday, after a long work week. Everyone there was dressed for a fun date night. We didn’t feel out of place. The Magic was amazing! Totally worth the visit. Our dinner was delicious. Great ambiance.
Loved the concept and ambiance. We had a porterhouse that was lackluster at best. Obviously pay for the experience, but was disappointed in quality of food.
Great food, amazing atmosphere and very entertaining show. Table magic was superb. Really, really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!
It was amazing! Magical! We went to celebrate a friends birthday and it exceeded all our expectations! First of all, the ambiance was just right. Service was excellent. And the magic was mesmerizing! But on top of all that, I went thinking this would be mostly all about the magic and the food would probably just be ok. Well, I was wrong about that. The food was awesome too!
Highly, highly recommend!
Love HOC! The close up magic is outstanding. Ryan, is the best! Service and food are excellent!
A great place to spend an evening out. Fantastic magic in a unique setting, hidden in the heart of Nashville. A must see, over and over again.
House of Cards does not disappoint. When I found it online, I thought: "Is this place for real?" It is.
The food and service was outstanding. Also the magicians were by far the best I’ve ever seen
Food was ok. I'm not sure why it's one of Open Tables 100 best restaurants in America. Not worth the cost to keep coming back but it was fun to go once for the experience. The wine the bartender recommended was just ok though their House Old Fashioned was made well.
If I were comparing other restaurants in the area, I had better food at STK in the Gulch but you're really going for the experience at HOC.
Phenomenal atmosphere. The food was super delicious but a little overpriced. Your entree purchase includes a ticket to a magic show.
Highly recommended the scallops! The duck egg on my NY Strip was beyond amazing!
Great food, great service, great shows. We will definitely go back in 5he future
2nd time there. Absolutely love it. A little pricey, but absolutely worth it. Will definitely return.
I love this place! I’m always AMAZED! Everyone is always friendly and it’s an absolute escape from the mundane daily grind. SUCH a fun place to bring friends who visit town!
The experience was awesome! We felt like we got our money’s worth. The atmosphere, food and service was phenomenal!
We love House of Cards! We've gone multiple times and it always amazes. Food, drinks, service, shows are all exceptional.
Great time. Very entertaining. Fantastic bar and selection of liquors.
The pork chop did not live up to the high expectation the waiter had built up. It was chewy and some bites had to be discreetly transferred back into my napkin. The garlic mashed potatoes were room temperature. The soup was tasty. Other tables were given a tour of the restaurant, something I would have enjoyed, but was never offered; I wonder if that was because I was a solo diner. I find that when I eat alone I am often shortchanged, as the tip at my table is bound to be smaller than the tip at tables with larger checks. I was temped to grouse as the cost of the meal, given the subpar quality of the meal, but when you consider that the price of dinner includes the entertainment, it's still an excellent value. After supper I enjoyed several "table magicians" doing close up magic. Some of the tricks were maybe a little dated (the floating cigarette, for instance) but were still performed flawlessly. Other magicians, notably Amory Hermetz, were excellent, with tricks I'd never seen before. The thirty minute mainstage show featured Oscar Munoz. He was entertaining, if a tad homophobic at times. I'd happily return to the House of Cards--as long as I get something besides the pork chop.
This was our first time and we couldn’t have had a better time! Service, food, and manic were all excellent!
Overall the House of Cards is a good experience, but there are a lot of weaknesses. Management overdoes its caution about the dress code. We got the feeling that the attitude was, "If we cannot drive you away, we'll tolerate you." The ambiance and decoration was very nice and well done. The food was OK, but not great. The service was OK, but not great. (I ordered a cocktail, for instance, and got it after we had had our appetizer.) Was it worth the money? Probably not.
We had a great time interacting with the magicians and the food was great!
New Years Eve
A tremendous restaurant with amazing ambience, cuisine, staff and entertainment. This is a must do experience every time we travel to Nashville!!
was told to leave & buy a change of clothes at a boutique that was a 20 min walk both ways, all bc we were wearing black pants... very rude hostess
Sat litterly at the bar not at a bar table very disappointing, magic show was assigned time 2 hours and 15 minutes after reservations time wayyyyyyyy to long after dinner , lameeeee
This was a first visit for my wife and I to House of Cards. We had heard about it, and decided to go for our anniversary for "something different." The evening was very enjoyable. Wait staff was very attentive, made good food and drink recommendations, and also made us very comfortable about the cadence of the evening...food, then show, then "up close" magic. The setting is very cool. The owners have curated some great prints and memorabilia.
As a magician myself, a venue that offers a magical experience is key. HOC reminded me of The Magic Castle in many ways. Keep up the good work! - Jeffrey
Even after multiple visits, HoC continues to impress us. The quality of food, the high level of service, the unique ambiance, the attention to detail- everything. There's nothing else like the House of Cards experience.
