Best experience ever!!
This establishment is a mess when it comes to booking. They took my reservation knowing good and well they we're not going to have a magic show for us and only informed us when we arrive.
We had been to House of Cards before and enjoyed it very much. On our last visit we took out of town friends. Three out of four meals were not good, and two of them were terrible, the pork chop and the wild boar (which our friend called a ham hock and canned beans). The octopus appetizer was also disappointing and very tough.
Having really talked the place up to our friends, we felt bad that their dinners were so bad. I understand you are paying for the whole experience, and the ambiance and magicians were very very good. But when paying close to 100 per person it is too bad to be so disappointed in the food. Our previous visit was much better, and since the menu is frequently changed I hope they will rectify this.
And I will say again, the atmosphere and magicians were great.
try to get an earlier dining time and give yourself about an hour and a half before the main show. We felt rushed having brunch. Also, Kyle was so-so compared to the others before. He talked more about his upcoming NETFLIX special than performing magic for the kids. Maybe, we just expected more after seeing previous headliners. :-(
Excellent hospitality. Dereck the bartender is always magical
House of cards dealt us a bad hand. The dinners were served lukewarm and terribly dry. We ordered and within ten minutes our dinners arrived which were clearly sitting out for a long time. The spicy octopus appetizer should have been under the salad section. What little octopus that was included was rubbery and cold. The osso bucco was dry and fatty and the beans were undercooked. The rabbit was cold and the parsnip purée was gritty.
The food was overpriced for what you got. The bone in pork chop they served me was really small (meat portion vise), the bone was a foot long though. Too bad I don't eat bone. The vegetables they served with the pork chop looked like an onion but tasted like liquorice. My girlfriend ordered the Halibut and it was extremely dry, should could not even eat it. We had the waiter box it and and we gave to to the dog at home. The dog seemed to enjoyed it, no complaints from him. The waiter was nice but was terrible at keeping the drinks full. Everyone at the table ran out of adult beverages on every drink, this is even after ordering while still having a half glass. The best part about House of Cards was the outside patio with the heat lamps and waterfall. Other than that House of Card is nothing but Smoke and Mirrors.
An awesome dining and entertainment experience !! Next time we are in nashville, we will definitely revisit!
This was such an enjoyable evening, dinner was spectacular, the drinks hardy and the entertainment was fun, entertaining and magical. This is a magic club with a 5star restaurant, pricey but worth every penny.
Starting on a positive note....We went for a girls night out dinner for my 38th birthday. We enjoyed the cocktails from the bar. Our bartender Derrick was awesome and full of personality and could make amazing drinks! We were blown away by the magic tricks and the card stations. The drinks, magic and overall ambiance are worth going and experiencing.
We were all very underwhelmed by our food, which was not cheap. We all live in Atlanta and fine dine frequently so when you pay $48 for a pork chop you expect it to not be burnt and impossible to cut into or when you pay $50 for a filet you’d expect it to not be dry. I did enjoy my mac & cheese side, which I got filled up on as I was waiting for a new pork chop to arrive. When the chop arrived I ate what I could. We didn’t order dessert because we were over the food experience at this point. I will say they also did not acknowledge my birthday (which was stated when the reservation was made on Open Table). That’s was the other slight that I thought was an over site. Needless to say my bday dining experience was not the best BUT the drinks and magic did make up for it.
Hopefully, that was just a bad night in the kitchen & the food will be better for future guests.
Second time I've been there the second time I have written a review. Food has not changed it is subpar. Octopus was rubbery and only a couple of pieces surrounded by mystery vegetables. Steaks were grisly. Mac and cheese was the best part of the meal. With that said the atmosphere and service was exceptional. Originally could only be seated at the bar but they found a table and we're very accommodating. My daughter's birthday and they went out of their way to give her okay but in a very subtle way. Magic show was very entertaining. All in all a very fun place to go and if they up the quality of food it would be one of the great places in Nashville
Found this gem last minute - and it was our best date ever. The ambiance is wonderful- food was delicious!
I’ll never forget this place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful experience with amazing service and food. Will be back with my whole family soon.
Great experience. Worth the price for the food, service and entertainment!
Outstanding! A unique and indulgent dinning experience where the entertainment is including for the price of the top notch meal. I was wowed by the food and the entertainment, the illusionists were amazing!
Overall, the food was just ok and way overpriced, the staff was great, the shows were good, and the environment was unique. It is a neat place to go with friends...once.
We love this place I bring my daughters here for their birthdays! Been here three times this year. We love magic!
Went there for my girlfriend’s birthday. Prompt service and great drinks. We both had steaks that were cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the magici
Great atmosphere! Will definitely visit again!
third time in 2 months.. great food and the entertainment is amazing.. great night
I have been to House of Cards several times and am continually impressed each time. The food has been tremendous each time, there are very interesting cocktails, and the magicians are all fantastic. This is my go to place in Nashville to take friends or clients to dinner
The ultimate night out! Highly recommend it for business or date night.
Incredible. Food was outstanding. Hospitality was great. The whole ambiance and speak easy design was fabulous. Magicians greatly entertaining. Will come back
Pardon the pun, but this place is Magical. I have dined at some of the best that the East Coast has to offer, and never have I seen service like I have at House of Cards.
It’s a very cool evening out. I highly recommend!
I would ..... however only because of atmosphere.
Scallops were not done. Steak over cooked. Cheesecake was excellent. Nice to see the whole room NOT on phones.
The experience was wonderful. Our server was Matthew and he is truly top notch. He made wonderful recommendations for the food and wine. We will definitely be back for another special occasion.
This was my 3rd time coming to the House of Cards. The first two times I've been, I had an amazing time, so when I had friends from out of town come in, I was excited to bring them to a unique dining experience. Our food was really delicious, but it feels like the restaurant has gotten too popular and they haven't limited the number of people coming in. The crowds around both magic stations were too big the entire time we were there, so that we didn't get to see any of those performances. We are paying elevated prices to include those shows, and it was really disappointing that we weren't able to see any magic except for the show in the auditorium. Before, you could walk around whenever you wanted during the meal to go watch the magicians, but now they ask you finish your meal first. Immediately, we were limited to a small window from when we finished eating to when the auditorium show began to watch the magic tricks, and like I said, both areas had too many people that we couldn't see or hear anything.
Food and drinks were amazing as always. Our only complaints:
Halibut dish- 2 of us out of 8 had this. Too dry and over cooked. Could have used a Beurre Blanc or something. All other dishes- amazing!!! Also, pricing was outrageous! But was expected.
We were there with our adult children to celebrate my birthday. My family sang happy Birthday to me. No big deal, but our tab was over 1k!! Free dessert maybe? Or is that too much?
Also, was told the photographer would take as many photos as we wish ... he would make his way to our table during dinner. Never saw him, finally found him, when we got him to ourselves, he seemed to be rushing us. We had one of us paying for his bar tab when he made it to us, he wouldn’t wait for him to finish paying his tab and ultimately took it without him. Later we asked if we could try again with our entire group this time, he said “normally only do one per group but will do for you.”. Not a great experience with him, but finally got our family photo. Sheesh.
Over all, good times were had by the entire family and will be back!- but won’t order the Halibut!
This unique venue was very entertaining, the food was very good and the four hours we were there flew by. Loved it.
This was an amazing experience. We lived the the ambiance, the food was amazing (tomahawk pork chop and vegan surf and turf), and the side magic shows were my favorite
An amazing experience! We had so much fun and we're so amazed by the world class magicians!
House of Cards is always a fun place to go - the food was a little lack-luster. I had the fish. It was dry & couldn't finish but half - the soup was great tho. My husband had the pork chop. It was very fatty. My daughter had the steak. It was great.
However, we all had upset stomachs afterward. I suspect the vegetables: Brussel Sprouts & Green Beans. Which was a shame. I wonder if they were washed sufficiently.
We have done the brunch, it was fantastic so perhaps a bad night!
I had a great time at House of Cards. The rabbit leg I ordered was delicious. The magic show included was more comedy than magic but it was fun. The service was top notch. I went on Halloween and many of the other diners dressed up. I will likely go back at some point.
Firstly the old fashions we ordered we’re not equal and they had a very minimal amount of alcohol for a very expensive price. The fish was extremely dry the pork chop had a lot of fat, and the lamb chops were extremely gamey. The brussels sprouts were heavily salted. Even after suggesting that the drinks were not satisfactory we were told that they were standard. Nevertheless we left a very generous tip, however the service was mediocre at best. And to top it off the magic show was nothing more than a chuckle, nothing special at all. We were very disappointed, all of us. Complete waste of money.
Fantastic. Can’t say enough good! Superb Food, cocktails, ambience, magic. Being there on Halloween made it extra special; meeting the real Eddie Munster was the icing on the cake. Will be back!!
I actually made the reservations for my boss and his wife as a THANK YOU. The seating was perfect and the entire night was magical they said! Thanks for a great evening and treating them like the first class people that they are.
I've had better food but the decor and shows were wonderful. Not the first place I would think of for food but the overall experience was wonderful
Was very pleased with the evening out with friends. Waiter was great and very nice of Joey to come speak to us and welcome us. Valet was great. You had two very nice young men taking care of valet.
One of the most incredible food and experiences I have ever had in my life! The staff, food and service and magic were all incredible. I will definitely be back and cannot wait to see the whole magic show. The two magicians we saw were so nice and warm to my friends it made the night worth it all! Thank you for making our Xmas in October a wonderful gift!
