So...let me start by saying I went to House of Cards the week before...and although the restaurant itself was great...the magic was kind of underwhelming...well...this is now my second time, and the magicians change weekly...and this time they were great....so it really depends I guess on who is on during the time you are attending....but the magic..combined with the layout of the restaurant (as well as good food)...make for a very unique dinning experience...one you would be hard pressed to find in another setting...5 stars :)

The atmosphere is amazing and it’s a very cool experience. However, our food was average at best. For the cost of your meal, you would expect expensive steak house quality food. Both of our sides were warm, at best. My steak was highly undercooked. The waiter we had was stellar! And the magic was super cool to partake in. Highly recommend the atmosphere and hope the food was just a miss for us on the night we went.

This was a fantastic experience. I've been trying to get reservation on the weekend for quite some time, but took one on Tuesday. Very happy I did, not sure the experience would have been as good with a packed resturant.

Tableside magician/mentalist were great. Especially the mentalist. I really cannot figure out how he knew. The magician's tricks were good, but not as over the top as I would have expected. Even so, not for the life of me could I figure out how he did it.

Food was very good. Scallop appetizer was fantastic. I wish this would be expanded to be a meal. Steaks good, wine solid and three cheese macaroni was great.

Big performance with the mentalists was good. that's the only area I think could have been better. while we enjoyed their act, I think we would have preferred magic as opposed to a blindfolded mental trick. Even so, they were entertaining.

Value was good, though I wish they would add a bit cheaper wine to the inventory. If you just look at the food price its a bit over the top until you realize you are paying for a performance as well. I recommend and we'll likely go back when the kids are of legal age.

The ambiance was outstanding! Food service was poor, our waitress was very nice but said there was new help in the kitchen. I had the New York Steak which was very good, my husband had the Gnocchi which were just okay. We started with the Lobster Chopped Salad which was good. After the salad we were asked if we would like bread. Our favorite part of the evening was the magic show.

Had a great time at House of Cards this week. Food was excellent, ambiance was great, and service was wonderful too. Also really enjoyed the magic show in the theater room as well! Love that all the magic is included in the experience. Would highly recommend; we definitely plan on returning.

We were in town for a conference. On the last day, before we all flew home, we made reservations for Sunday brunch. A colleague recommended this to me. I loved the atmosphere, but the entertainment was definitely geared towards kids. I didn’t realize this. The food was very mediocre and a little expensive for what it was. The mimosas and wine list were good. Free valet was great, but we kind of wanted to leave the car parked and explore downtown a little before we left Nashville and they wouldn’t allow us to leave the car for an hour or two. I would have paid. I would recommend someone try going for dinner instead of brunch and try that. Also, make a very early reservation so that you have time to eat, drink, socialize, and also have time to see the piano, patio, magic tricks, and magic show. And don’t use their free valet. Just find parking elsewhere so you can explore downtown Nashville after you’re finished and you don’t have to worry about moving your car. The atmosphere and concept was really cool, I was just disappointed.

I would go again for the atmosphere and the overall experience. For the price of the food I was sorely disappointed in the flavor combinations. I had the elk steak medium rare. Lyonnaise salad, fried calamari. Did not Oder dessert. That was Saturday this is Monday I just cooked my own venison steak from deer season and it was every bit as good as the elk steak. I travel with work and have eaten at several fine restaurants in the states and Europe. This dinning experience left a lot to be desired. Good thing the show made up for the disappointment otherwise I would not go back. At least not at that price

We really loved everything about this place! Lamb chops were excellent and the drinks were top notch. Entertainment was great and the patio was very relaxing. The only part of the experience that we didn’t enjoy was the gentleman who brought us downstairs in the beginning. Instead of asking the women who were talking to pay attention on some rules, he rolled his eyes, sighed, and stared at them until they stopped talking. He was unreasonably rude. That said, every other staff member there was absolutely amazing. One of the best experiences we have had anywhere.

When we walked in, it seemed promising. They have multiple magicians, cool two-way mirrors with lights in them, a nice outdoor space to wait for your table to be ready.

The bartenders were friendly and great at their mixology skills. Drinks were delicious!

We loved the outdoor patio space where we waited for our table to be ready, Unfortunately the talented magician on the patio begged for tips with every trick and complained about how hot it was that day on the patio. There was no communication about having to tip the magicians. (Suspension of disbelief for a magical time was lost)

Once we sat down, the server (Ryan) attempted to rush us to order so that we would make the next magic show (which was in 40 minutes). We decided to go to the show they started two hours after we sat down which meant he didn’t get his table turned a third time. But we felt rushed, which was not good.

The service was adequate at first, but then became absentee once we got our entrees. (Never came back to check on us) I noticed that he had a large party in the room behind the bookcase. Guess they must have been demanding.

As far as the food...The porkchop was WAY overcooked and hard as a rock, the tofu was over-salted, and the lamb chops were bland.

The magicians were good at slight-of-hand magic, however they all seemed to be doing the same or similar tricks. So once you’ve seen one magician, you’ve seen them all at HOC.

All in all, I think this place has a good concept. But they need some advice on how to suspend disbelief and make this place feel magical. The whole staff needs to be on the same page about how to act the part.

AND, for PETE’S SAKE....please check on the quality of your food. At that steep of prices, the food should be beyond reproach! Unfortunately, it was mediocre and disappointing at best.

Sorry guys, we won’t be coming back.

I have already recommended this place.

Looooved the whole experience.
From the waiter knowing we went for a birthday and then later giving us a slice of delicious cheesecake.
To the free deals of a in-house photographer for a free photo., the magic show in the theater, the three side table magicians, and the jazz music in the background to the gorgeous ambience with antiques.
Actually really loved that nobody had their phone out and people were enjoying the whole experience.
Very very highly recommend!
a must see and do for locals.

It’s overpriced by probably 50%. The filet is $50, but tastes like a $30 filet. The salmon is $38 but tastes like a $20 salmon you’d get at OCharleys. Drinks aren’t that potent, but are $15 each. But you get a 30 min magic show at the end so I guess that’s part of the price too

The idea of this restaurant is better than the actual experience. Food is pretty good, great vibe, and good service.... My biggest complaint would actually be the main attraction that sets this restaurant apart - “the magic”... it seemed kind of “low budget” and cheesy... I think if they lifted the quality of the magicians I would have given it 5 stars all around

I recommend visiting as an experience, however, I’m not confident that the food or the show would rally return visits. The food is overpriced for the flavor profile and presentation... and the server was less than enthused about being there himself. The hosts were very professional and inviting, however. All around, I’d say this is an experience if you’re interested in intermediate magic tricks. Kids would love it... but unfortunately, it’s an adult establishment only.

I think this was their first time doing a brunch buffet and it was amazing! We went there for Mother's Day and my mother and I both enjoyed it so much. The seating was lovely and we got to see so much artwork just sitting at our table and got to enjoy their very cool piano.
The food was amazing! There was so much food and everything was the perfect temperature and there were many yummy options.
The servers were all so nice and friendly. The magic show at the end of our email was so funny and a sure wow moment. No one is ever too young or old for a little magic.
Everything was just perfect and amazing! Would happily do the buffet brunch again and hope they continue to do it.
