I got a “dinner and show” package that was supposed to give me priority seating for the show. It was a confusing system which not even the employees could understand. Even though we showed up early, we weren’t given any priority access to the show.
The restaurant itself seems fine but there is no cooperation between the restaurant and the performance hall. You shouldn’t sell packages that don’t work. Never going back there again.
Food was passable, too noisy to enjoy the music, cocktails pricey
Was there on a Tuesday night and while the live music was very good it was not what I would consider “blues”. Food was good and service was very friendly and attentive.
Food was amazing! I had the fried chicken plate and it was mouth watering!!! The musical performance was also quite good. The place is just awesome to look at no matter where you are. Great to stop by if you are in the Quarter
It was amazing, the musician and staff were perfect!
My friends and I were on a girls trip to New Orleans and had a reservation at the house of blues restaurant for a Saturday night. We waited for 20 minutes before anyone greeted us at our table and only one of us was given a water glass at that time. The food took 40 minutes to come out and the food itself was pretty good. Our waitress Mackenzie was probably the worst waitress I’ve ever encountered. She must’ve been having a bad night or something because 2 other HOB employees visited us before our own waitress.
This brings us to the bill, which was incorrect all around. We each wanted our own bill which I would e Levy is normal at a place like HOB. She took our cards without showing us what we were charged. She completely botched the bill and we didn’t know who was paying for which meal. She had zero empathy for this and just wanted to get to her next table who had seen a mouse scurry under their table and had to move to a different table.
Overall, I would never come to house of blues for a meal ever again.
Food was excellent - even the kids loved their food!
Best ribs I’ve ever eaten ! Glad we came here for dinner.
Really great service!
Our food was very good - service was great. There was NO music - no live music, no recorded music. And it was Saturday night which seems weird for a restaurant based on music. I’m not sure if they normally have music. But - I have to give them credit for giving me a heads up by phone that wouldn’t be any live music due to a special event (which was actually a film shoot).
Our hostess Mackenzie was very attentive, down to earth, and helpful.
Food was horrible. Not worth time. The waitress herself recommended another place
This is a very nice Restaurant. We and our friends went for a Sat. night dinner while on vacation. We had a very nice waiter. The choice of food are different here than other House of Blues or the Menu changed since we went there the last time. We would go back, the live band was great!
Waited 30 min for our drinks, order wrong. Waited another 10, my husband had to go ip and get them. 45 minutes after sitting down our dinner had not arrived. My husband went to manager. 10 minutes later we got our dinner. Food wasn’t bad, but the place wasn’t crowded. People who arrived after us were being served dessert.
Great place for great blues music and awesome food! The venue is a beautiful place with great music related motif. The only drawback is limited seating for people that can't stand very long. And the limited seating available has restricted viewing!!
Great jalapeno cornbread and music. Loved the ceiling.
Tourists trap, can't see performers from most of the tables. Food is average at best
I used to work there. Took me back to the great memories! Awesome ambience, music, service! Food was as delicious as always! We had a super time!
Good food but they got our order wrong , so one of us ate while the other waited.
Seated us at a table where we were bumped into by staff and patrons. There was a pillar which prevented the poor staff from getting to tables. We had to ask to be moved, after we were splashed by someone’s drink.
Our server, Kris, was awesome. It was our 10th anniversary and our first trip to New Orleans and House of Blues. Kris recommended dishes to us and they were awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you!!
Had dinner before a show at HOB, and really enjoyed it. Made reservations for supper so we could be finished before the show. Two hours was perfect timing, because it gave us time to relax before the show. The food was awesome!!
Food was excellent
Our server was Chris, he was super friendly, fun and helpful in picking a meal. The food was delicious, especially the Memphis fries...omg!! Great place, atmosphere and people. Highly recommend giving it a try!
Pleasantly impressed! Wasn’t sure if a chain restaurant would be great compared to original New Orleans restaurants, but The House of a blues New Orleans was fantastic. Great food and great service.
Great place and a very welcoming staff! Music was so good! We’ll be back!
The menu on their website looks good- it was also recommended for entertainment so, we thought we would try it.
Upon arriving it took forever to be seated - then the hostess called me ( on my cell) after she seated us and reported that we did not show for our reservation. They had a special menu because it was the first night before Mardi Gras (which was not posted on their site) so, there was really nothing on the menu I could eat.
I was with 2 other people and between the 3 of us we ordered the Mardi gras fries, the vegetable muffaleta, a salad and jumbalaja.
The food was terrible - I did not eat any of the vegetable muffaleta - it was pretty much just a few pieces of vegetables between two inches of bread and more mayo then I have ever seen. The server didn't once ask if anything was good or when she walked by and saw my whole meal still sitting there ask if it was okay or if there was something wrong.
The couple I was with ate a little bit of their meals to try them and within about 15 minutes of getting my food - we paid the bill and went to another restaurant to eat dinner and missed all the entertainment.
Great Food. We had the grilled shrimp with corn bread appetizer which was incredible. We had live blues music and a great waiter. The prices for a restaurant near the French Quarter with live music were reasonable. The place is definitely worth a try. Fun times
Just about OK. Food nothing to write home about and over priced. Three nights in NOL and this was the worst of our eating experience.
Overpriced for what it was. Chicken was fatty and in small portions. Waitress was absent minded but friendly.
Ordered the jalapeño cornbread app and although we were warned the little cast iron skillet was “hot” the actual bread was cold inside. Husband had jambalaya and I had muffuletta for main entree, also not hot. Our first time to house of blues and was expecting bluesy more laid back music. Instead, the live band was more grunge sounding. Our server was okay, nothing above and beyond. Yet, when we paid with a $100 bill and our check was $60, she asked if we would like change back? Really? I wanted to reply, “Do you think your service was worth a $40 tip for $60 tab?” It definitely was not, however, we still left her a tip nonetheless. Overall ambience was just okay. Definitely expected a better “House of Blues” experience.
Everything was awesome. Our waiter was Kris very good service. The bread pudding was the best we’ve ever had. My husband and I have tried it at several different places yours was the bes by far. We live here and will be back. Love love love open table app. Thanks so much ❤️
Jenny and Allison were absolutely amazing. All staff were great but those 2 stood out and made the night fantastic. Food and ambiance were also great. Can’t wait to go back
The food was amazing the live band was fantastic the place and location was everything I was certainly come back to see them again and again and again
I was visiting from out of town on vacation. Atmosphere, live music, and service was great I would recommend to anyone. The best part was the food shrimp and grit cake, mac and cheese, gumbo, jalapeno cornbread.
EVERYTHING WAS TERRIFIC. We had VooDoo Shrimp and Shrimp Creole to start followed by Jambalaya and the best Baby Back Ribs ever. Also, the Bread Pudding was terrific. Good wine list. And the entertainment was a local keyboard player who wrote many of his own songs in the 1980s to today. We will go back when we are back in town. Highly Recommend.
Had dinner before concert hall reservation. Food was great! Wait for concert too long...
I am a New Orleans local and this was my 2nd time eating at the restaurant within the past 4 months. I was going to see a concert, and we decided to have dinner beforehand. First visit on Sept 29, 2017 was pretty disappointing. I don't recommend any of the appetizers. Small and not worth your money. Burger was decent though.
Decided to give them a 2nd try on Tuesday, Jan 23. Got the Shrimp tacos, and wow! How embarrassing for New Orleans. 4 TINY shrimp on each one - assuming frozen too. Piled with a ton of slaw. Absolutely horrible! This place needs new management for the kitchen! I will not give them a 3rd try and I recommend you eat somewhere else!
Glad we made it in spite of running late. Very filling meals with friendly service. Awesome live music and interesting layout and decor...do check out all the portraits on the ceiling!
Definitely don't get the Carolina Mess i.e. french fry pulled pork nachos, they were so subpar I was really disappointed. The Nashville Wings were also dry rub and just really not very good either. My husband had the ribeye and he enjoyed it. Other than that I was pretty disappointed with the food. The service was pretty good and it wasn't very crowded on a Saturday night at 5:00 PM in New Orleans so note that's a good time to go. I think this would be a good happy hour spot or to get some bar food and drinks maybe although not sure any of the food is any better to be honest. Not sure I would recommend for eating but for drinking and music.
