House of Blues Restaurant & Bar - Myrtle Beach Ratings and Reviews
The service was excellent as was the food. The gospel group was so very moving and they were very personable and engaging. For a music event the noise level was just right, as we were still able to have a conversation too. This was a thoroughly enjoyable visit for us. We can't wait to come back.
Gospel brunch a very special experience. So glad we went for this. Good food, great service, excellent entertainment. Got there at 0850 and place opened on time at 0900. Place filled up quickly and gospel group started at around 0915. We left at 1100 stuffed with food as having had a fabulous experience.
If it weren't for cold french fries and a Philly cheese steak tough as shoe leather I would rate the food higher. My wife said her salmon was excellent. Had problems with bill also. Gave server our two dinner vouchers ($35 each) when order taken. Bill comes and vouchers do not appear. Eventually it got worked out in time for us to make the show (The Original Wailers were outstanding!!) First time at House of Blues. Not the best experience but good enough to probably give it another try!
We went to the gospel Sunday brunch. The food was outstanding as was the service and gospel singing. The environment is perfect for this venue. When you go inside it looks like an old dilapidated building but once inside the ambience of a New Orleans Jazz Hall takes your hand. Loved it.
Not what you'd expect at first impression. The rustic look of the building's exterior makes you wonder what you're getting into. Once inside, all that changes. Sunday Gospel Brunch was amazing. Food was great, service was good, and entertainment was nice and interactive. I would recommend this place and I'd definitely visit again when I'm back in town.
Went to the restaurant before a concert at The House of Blues. There wasn’t much to choose from that was kid friendly so my teenage daughter ordered off of the kids menu. And even the kids pasta with marinara sauce was too spicy for her. My food was great and our server was very friendly and helpful. But, when we were finished eating and it was time for the check, our server was nowhere to be found for at least a half an hour. Overall the experience was good though.
We had dinner at the House of Blues while on vacation in Myrtle Beach. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent! I recommend the voodoo shrimp as an appetizer. It was sooo good! The entrees were also excellent. We dined on an evening when there was not a live show. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Family of four, two kids meals, two adult meals with one beer was $58. I got the tacos and wife got grilled veggies and beans. Excellent deal for such a destination! The decor, location and architecture was amazing. Like we were going to an old haunted barn in the woods! That night, which was Sunday night, featured local musicians and the two we saw were fantastic. The waiter was slightly frazzled so I’m not totally sure if they were understaffed or he was just a little scattered. Either way, we eventually got what we needed (we had to ask twice for a couple of things). I was going to tip low but I noticed he comped us for the dessert since it wasn’t described appropriately (he said they had vanilla ice cream, then had to come back to say orange sherbet, but it ended up being passion fruit, which one of the kids didn’t like). Either way, he was apologetic and fixed it so I think he recovered from his few stumbles. After I saw the bill I thought “that’s it, this place is awesome! And he’s getting 20%!” We will definitely be back again!
The service was amazing, our waitress Rene ( best waitress ever and so passionate about the job) was able to tell us a bunch or amazing information about the location, the history, the franchise, legends, and recommendations ( which were amazing I could eat ten plates of the voodoo shrimp and the tot mess). The entire family enjoyed the atmosphere and the meals. After the meal we ate we wemt put to the deck and enjpyed the amazing live music and fun atmosphere. It is only our second time here and I can anticipate we will return again any time we are in the area.
We made a reservation and we got there on time. Promptly seated and server was right on point. Food was awesome and the decor was incredible. Afterwards visited the outdoor bar for a few cold ones. Great night was had by all. We live here so we will be back often.
We have been to House of Blues a few times, with great food and service. However, this time the food was marginal, the service was slow, and several in our party had incorrect orders or bill. The dining experience took way too long. Our server forgot our drink refills and was slow to check on us, bring us our bill, etc.
The Service was awesome, but not many beers on tap and both beers that I ordered were only somewhat cold. Also the menu is extremely limited, and pricey. Plus if you want to pass the line for a show, you would need to spend a minimum of $20, just to "pass the line". That means two beers and an appetizers is not going to cut it. I don't think I will drive 3 hours, just to eat here. The Social Distortion and Jade show was highly entertaining, however, security was way too tight. Crowd surfing is a terrible idea, but at least let the kids mosh and have the old men put their kids/partners on their sholders for a better view. Finally, I believe a railing and some type of hood needs to be over the lighing/sound booth. I'm my experience no one needs to lean or block the access to and from the booth. Plus when beer is flying through the air, the hood would be a lifesaver for both the light and sound people in the booth. Thats a Safety Incident waiting to happen.
