The House of Blues is a great way to learn the history of music. The moment you enter you’re greeted enthusiastically by the staff who treat you like family. We attended the Gospel Brunch where participation is a must. We laughed, we sang, we ate and enjoyed every minute. The food is homemade and delicious. Omelettes made to your taste, biscuits and gravy, catfish and my favorite chicken and waffles. Don’t miss this unique experience.
We sat down at 5:30 for dinner and waited over one hour from our time of ordering before our food arrived. There were several empty tables so it was not from being busy. We had a show to go to at 7:00 and informed the staff of this. We were told our order was next out. Another 20+ minutes before the food arrived after seeing several other meals leave the kitchen. We could not even eat it and had to immediately box it up as we had to get to the show we scheduled for our 81 year old mother who was with us and did not get her dinner. VERY disappointed that we were not given any consideration on the bill at all. Just not handled well at all by management and were told by waitstaff a mushroom taco was the reason for the over one hour delay. REALLY????
The steak I had was perfection. I’m extremely picky on how my steak is cooked. The waiter was so nice.
Awesome place to eat before a show or any other time. Our server was amazing. In fact the few times we have been they have all been amazing with personalities. Food was excellent! A lot better than some of the places we went at Broadway!
Food was adequate but nothing special. I would rank it as diner level. The best thing about the House of Blues is their patio. Tables with fire pits, live music and a bar. Great if you just want to relax and enjoy the music. I will go back for the patio but not the restaurant.
There for the Kip Moore Concert
Went for kip Moore show disappointed before I walked in because there were no line pass privileges. Our server, Jameson, fixed that fast. He was upbeat and on the ball. The food was excellent as well. The grilled chicken sandwich and fries were just enough before the concert.
Our son attends Coastal Carolina University & we've come to Myrtle Beach 5 times now. We come to the House Of Blues for the final night celebration. We ALWAYS have a FABULOUS time. The great food and drinks, the atmosphere, the live music on the deck...from beginning to end...awesome!!!
Very good food and staff was very friendly! Great jambalaya!
Joe, our waiter was the best!! Made us feel right at home all the way from Virginia Beach, VA. We will be back next year on Spring Break for sure.
Great food great service and fast I give the place an A for Awesome
Best sweet potato fries we've ever tasted. Bread pudding was incredible. Service was attentive, friendly & fun. We enjoyed everything about our dining experience.
Very overpriced and food was below average. Paid $9 for a Jim and Pepsi, and 16 for a Long Island (which we sent back to be remade because it was watered down). Server was very nice and funny, she was the reason we didn’t get up and leave after our order was taken to another table (no discount or accommodation). Took my wife for her birthday based on reviews and it was a huge mistake. I requested them to do their little birthday celebration twice and no one came over to sing. Other than that, I probably wouldn’t go back for the bar or food, only for live performances.
Live music is great! Food was good and we enjoyed our experience.
We tried the smokehouse entree for 4, it was awesome and we had plenty of food for 4 with leftovers. Service was great! The live music was a bonus! All 4 of us had a really enjoyable experience and will definitely return on our next trip to Myrtle!
It was our first time at this restaurant. We were not impressed by the food or the music the night we were there. The desserts were outstanding though; give their key lime pie a try. The décor is amazing. Will definitely give it another go; could have just been our timing as we were one of the first ones seated for the dinner hour and the kitchen was just getting going.
We had a reservation at 5:30pm on an off season Tuesday. We were some of the few people there when we sat down. Our orders were taken quickly enough. At about 6:45 we finally received our hob cheeseburgers that we ordered after having watched nearly everyone who came in after us already get served their meals. On top of the wait the burgers were burnt to a crisp on the outside. My girlfriend and I were on vacation in Myrtle beach and we had had these reservations for weeks in advance because she so wanted to visit HOB. Unfortunately the poor service and food ruined the experience for us both.
My husband and I were there for our wedding anniversary and wanted to do something different, went on your website and thought it would be fun, the experience was ok the band was alright, we thought it was extremely overpriced for the food to be just fair.
Had Gospel Lunch, lots of food and selection, gospel music was great however two in the party of five felt sick the next day not sure how but chalked it up to something in the food. I think the food trays did not protect the food properly. Will try it one more time because I love the theme & atmosphere. Hope for better result next time.
The food was horrendous. The smoked chicken was very tough and had powdery texture once you chewed ( usually means it was prepared earlier in the day and left somewhere), the slaw was flavorless but my spouse had the smoked salmon and it was at least prepared correctly. 10 hours after consuming the meal my whole family had upset stomachs and general stomach discomfort (presumably from eating food not stored properly or prepared in substandard conditions. This was our second time dining here and the first experience was just as bad as this one( we gave them the benefit of the doubt). The live music was awesome but could not make up for the utterly unpalatable meal. This was very disappointing and disheartening to endure for our 23rd wedding anniversary. We expected a little better for a meal that cost well over $100, next time we will enjoy a simple drink and the music then eat at a fast food place afterwards since the meal we had at HOB Myrtle Beach was not even on the level of a 11 p..m. disgruntled Mcdonald's restaurant quality.
This was our first visit to HOB. It was a very cold day and our table was very cold. I am not a cold natured person, usually am hot when others are cold, but I was shivering at our table. We told our server and she agreed that it was cold & said she would tell the manager but it didn’t get any better. But the food and drinks were great and the music was good. Would have been a great experience if not for the cold.
Very good first time and great experience loved it would do anytime we visit Myrtle Beach
Made a reservation before a concert. We were able to eat, get a to go drink, and enter the concert via “pass the line.” I will do this for every concert I attend there. It was absolutely worth it. Plus, the food was pretty good.
Went here before a concert. The service was super slow. The waiter got our bills completely wrong. We were 3 couple and he mixed up all the items on all the bills!! Charged us for a bottle of wine, when we only had one glass. We ordered smokehouse meats that said they came with several sauce selections; they arrived after we finished eating. Would not recommend☠️
Our wait staff, trainee Nicole and her trainer Loni, were outstanding! Live music was enjoyable without being overly loud. Food was delicious! Will definitely return.
Never been before! Had to order sides a la carts and was unable to sub so that was unfortunate.
I went for the dinner on a Monday evening and the place was pretty quiet. I had the recommended Voodoo shrimp as an appatizers and the sauce was really very nice. For the main dish I had the Jambalaya , which was okay, but not terribly exciting. I could have had a bit more veggies in my opinion.
Amazing place, amazing service, fantastic live music (Stan James Gregory ) just WOWW!!!
We were so lucky to find out about this place online! We wanted a special place for a special occasion ... and there we were!
Outstanding service and entertainment. Food was excellent. Everyone from the Gear shop attendant to the servers were very friendly kind and helpful. Thanks I will be back.
Loved, loved, loved it all, the food, the music by the Jay Brothers, my server Jamison who gave great suggestions on food, and my awesome host with this most passion and interesting story ever, Ryan Cooke. I will be back to enjoy it all again with more friends next time. You just can’t stop looking at all of the art they have.
My shrimp and grits was excellent. Wife liked her pulled pork (it was a bit smokey for my taste). Son's girlfriend did not finish fried shrimp on seafood plate so I am guessing she did not enjoy. Son enjoyed his spare ribs. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Friendly manager stopped by to chat.
I arrived at 10:00 am and expected more on the menu for breakfast. The food choices were heavy and more geared toward lunch . The choices for breakfast were limited.
We had a fantastic time ... I highly recommended the Sunday gospel and brunch.
Really enjoyed our brunch at HOB. It was an awesome experience. The group singing were inspiring.
Great experience! Will like to come back with friends and family.
The service was excellent as was the food. The gospel group was so very moving and they were very personable and engaging. For a music event the noise level was just right, as we were still able to have a conversation too. This was a thoroughly enjoyable visit for us. We can't wait to come back.
Attended the Sunday Gospel Brunch. Excellent!
Gospel brunch a very special experience. So glad we went for this. Good food, great service, excellent entertainment. Got there at 0850 and place opened on time at 0900. Place filled up quickly and gospel group started at around 0915. We left at 1100 stuffed with food as having had a fabulous experience.
Had great time! Food was great too!
