House of Blues Restaurant & Bar - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Been wanting to visit a House of Blues. Loved this one inside Mandalay Bay in Vegas. Service was great, server was very, very nice. Food was DELICIOUS!! We had the fried chicken, voodoo shrimp, jalapeño cornbread, wing appetizer w/blue cheese dressing & 2 fabulous drinks. Bought a really cute cap & t-shirt in the gift store. Will visit other locations as my husband & I travel around the country. A new fav!!
The atmosphere was great but the service was a complete let down. It was a special occasion both a New Years eve celebration and a birthday celebration so we were hoping/expecting a really special night before we headed out for a night on the town. The music/live one man band was fantastic, the food was decent but the service was terrible which made the experience as a whole disappointing. He didn't know the menu. Was nowhere to be found most of the night. We had to ask for the same things ( refills and condiments ) multiple times before anything was brought. I had to go to the bar myself twice to get refills because we waited through half our mean with empty glasses. Then since it was a bday celebration and had told our server this multiple times we were hoping he would bring the cake/ice cream candle so we could sing when our meal was finished. We had to track him down and remind him and then it still took 20 mins of sitting there before it came with dirty dishes still covering our table. I usually don't complain but since this was a double special occasion and the restaurant wasn't very busy this had everyone in our party very unhappy. Definitely not the way we wanted to start our night out!! Anyway other then that, everything was great. Nice place, great music but service need a lot of work- Don't know if I would recommend for anything more then a quick cocktail before heading out.
Had Christmas dinner here. The buffet did not have a lot of selection and the food was not labeled properly. One said Green Bean casserole and it was very spicy green beans. Thought $30 per person was a lot for what was offered. The bread pudding and squash soup were very good.
The Gospel Brunch Live Music was fantastic. Great singers and the hostess of the show was so personable. The dinning scene was a bi chaotic, but as promised it did settle down. All do it yourself, but it was fun. My husbands birthday. They honor birthdays, new marriages, anniversaries and that was an unexpected treat. Crowd was nice and into it all.
Small selection of gluten free which I require. Had beef tacos very good but no friends they share fryer w non GF items. Guitar player very good. Husband had wings which looked great but not GF. More GF chicken choices needed. Also FONT VERY SMALL and GF symbol was like a 4 font very hard to read. Nice music would like more GF options.
The place was great except the fact I had to pay $10 for parking. I just feel if Im paying a premium for a meal I shouldn't have to pay to park. I wouldn't go back due to this and would alert others to be prepared to add that cost to there budget if going there.
I did enjoy the atmosphere and the food was great.
While the ambiance was good with live music, the drinks were expensive $14-17 each. We ordered the brisket and salads to share. I was disappointed because the brisket was really dry. I also noticed that after we returned it he did not bother to tell the other patrons that he had a customer return it which I thought was poor service on his part. The shrimp & grits we had to replace it were good and overall we were happy with our dining experience.
Staff was polite but waiter was unfortunately slow and the food was not very warm when it reached the table. There was a convention going on so restaurant was busy but that should not have prevented the staff from being attentive and timely with the food delivery.
We were in Vegas for my mom's 60th birthday. She chose house of blues as her dinner spot. We had KC as our waitress and she was absolutely amazing. Super fun, upbeat, made us laugh, and was very personable. I would come back to Vegas just to sit in her section. The best service I've ever experienced in all the times I've been to Vegas. Thank you for the amazing food and excellent service!
Went for Thanksgiving meal. We chose HOB mainly because of value for what we should have gotten and did not. The food was dried out and they were not keeping up with the supply of food. Was not crowded either. Bread pudding was horrible. So disappointed. We expressed our displeasure and a manager took off one of main fees for the buffet which helped. But left hungry and completely unsatisfied.
Everyone in our party opted for the Thanksgiving day buffet. I thought the overall offerings were good, lots of veggie dishes plus two meats (pork loin and turkey) at the carving station along with cornbread muffins and stuffing. However, not enough serving utensils and some of the dishes were not hot. Maybe to mitigate part of the problem is to have someone managing (being present) so that guests would not switch or move serving tongs/spoons to other dishes and to ensure the lids get closed on the chafing dishes. A bit disappointed that they did not offer pumpkin pie as a dessert option; bread pudding and mini waffles were the only items to satisfy the sweet tooth.
Went for thanksgiving buffet. Right price $25 pp. BUT, it was cheap for a reason. They did not have their act together at all. Buffet jammed in tight space. Food was fair at best, very limited for a buffet. People waiting in long lines for turkey. No gravy. Dessert was cold waffles with strange toppings. Was equivalent to Golden Corral. I've eaten from their regular menu before, much better. In hindsight, should've ordered from that. This place is good for casual lunch or dinner. Stay away for any holidays or special occasions.
