Great lunch! Good service!
It was nice dinner in houston.
First time dining here, my Husband and I LOVED IT! We made reservations prior, walked in and decided to dine at the bar. The bartender suggested the Hurricane. And my goodness...it was de-lic-ious! My Husband ordered the Nashville Wings...undeterred by the batenders "warning" of level of spice. And I ordered the cajun pasta subbing the chicken for shrimp. At first bite of the wings my Husband's response was "oh yeah these are spicy." By the 5th wing that was an understatement! He absolutely could not finish the wings, but kept saying the flavor was so good! My pasta was lacking flavor, so I squeezed a few lemons over the top. That gave it a little zing and I cleaned my bowl. When I hear "cajun" anything I automatically think fool of flavor and spices. This pasta didn't meet those standards. However, it was prepared to perfection. The fetuccine noodles were cooked aldenté and the shrimp was perfection. So, i had no problem squeezing my lemons and finishing my dish. Two hurricanes a piece later...we were stuffed! Needless to say we will be back to try more.
Service was really slow and a lot of or order was missing and had to remind or server multiple times.
Thanks for a fun evening of great music, from the La Raza Connection band, delicious food, and dessert. I have been to shows and dining upstairs, however taking in the band, bar and restaurant on the street level is a first. It was awesome! Everyone in my party, and the restaurant, really enjoyed themselves! The food and music are crucial to having a great time, and this experience did not disappoint. I can’t wait to come back!
From the hostess, to the Jazz band, our server, and manager — the service was excellent at House of Blues. The food was also good and I really appreciated the bottomless mimosas. It was a chill and good vibe spot. Bring the same band back they were friendly and played really well!
HOB has a good bar and happy hour specials. We split the hamburger because was so large, but very good. Was a great way to start a Friday night before seeing a concert upstairs.
The decoration and people where great. However, there really is no variety on the menu and the good was not worth the price. The steak was good. The mashed potatoe portion was small cold lumpyand lacked inn any real flavor. There so called salad was a small portion of leaves with thick slices of smelly cheese. The key like pie wss very sweet the cookie skillet the teenagers loved.
Everything was great!!! The food, the vibe, the drinks and the service. My Lovely lady and I had a wonderful time (1st date) and our waiter was always on point. We will definitely be back.
Good food and good service. Not a lot of people and was able to get a seat and get out fast
Jazz nights are the last Monday of each month. I went with my girlfriend for the first time. The happy hour drink prices were great. We had the sangria. The jambalaya was full of flavor.
Food was okay not great. Gumbo was served cold. But overall it was an okay night
This was our first dining experience as well as tickets to Beth Hart. The food and service was excellent and “Babs” our waitress was spot on! The manager also stopped by a couple of times to ensure that the food and service was good. Everyone was great! We throughly enjoyed our date night! Beth Hart was good too!
Traveling for business. Open table reservation was great and was able to get right in with no problem especially since downtown was very crowded. Food arrived before the drinks. Cocktails were terribly made and tasted horrible. Steak was over done. I would not go back but this is not the experience I have had at other locations. Site specific problems. Bar tender needs training. Give the wait staff a pass for being new. Proceed there with caution. Hopefully will improve.
Drove up from Corpus to catch Rebelution. Decided to make a dinner reservation here to celebrate National Margarita day as well. Loved the venue! Loved the ambiance of it. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Food and drinks came out in decent time. Noticed that different age groups were here enjoying the show and food. I highly recommend this restaurant and venue to anyone looking for a night out. I will definitely be back! Thank you HOB for making my first experience at a HOB an absolute memorable moment!
We grabbed dinner before the St. Vincent show upstairs and had a great time. The shrimp & grits were pretty tasty (although way too small for the price), and our group really enjoyed the open mic night. One of our guests was in a wheelchair — the staff was super accommodating, and it was easy to get her around. Service was a bit slow, which made us a little late for the concert, but we still had a blast!
The food was not good. Service was great. The jumbolia was awful it was made with hotdogs or something that tasted the same.
Food was hot and beer was cold. They are a little on the expensive side for what you get but, portions are good and service is friendly. The kitchen miss made our appetizer but the server got it corrected quickly.
Food and service was excellent and the Pass the Line option for the concert we attended was extremely convenient!!! We had a great time!
I had a really good time. The band was great ! It was easy for me to, park and get home. The wait staff was spot on and I will definitely do this again.
Good food! Felt drinks were watered down, and quite expensive!!!
I Had dinner before the concert.
Food was delicious. Service was great! Had the shrimp tacos which were so good. Great happy hour with very good wine choices.
Had an amazing meal before seeing an awesome show. The food and service were excellent.
My first time at any House of Blues location and I loved it! Great restaurant service...the Shrimp Poor Boy and the Gumbo were awesome...just the fuel I needed to have a wonderful time at the Gin Blossoms concert afterwards! I will definitely be back!
Love going to House of Blues - Houston. My wife can't get enough of their Shrimp and Grits. Everything is always great.
The only thing I don't like is that sometimes the band is too loud and it makes table conversation a bit strained.
We made a reservation. Showed up on time and still had to wait 15 minutes in the cold even though the place was not full. Food was good but park in is deceptive. You can park in a garage across the street and not use valet. Cover band was awesome but we were told we could listen to Mardi Gras zydeco band and this wasn't the case. The shrimp and grits sauce was the best. Need more grits and the jambalaya. Everything else was average in taste.
I felt like the waiter was trying to rush us even though they had open tables. he brought my check without asking if we wanted another drink...which we did.
Enjoyed a nice meal and music after sitting in a conference all day. Great casual environment.
In Houston on business, went to visit Foundation Room hoping to hear some live music but no luck. Went next door to eat, sat down quickly, but took me getting up after 20 minutes to ask for a waiter. Manager was cool and comp'd an appetizer. Overall meal was good. Unfortunately, I missed out on any blues this evening.
I had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and cold slaw. It was the best friend chicken I’d ever eaten. Themsrgsrits was mixed well and delicious. The service was great as well.
We were seated very quickly and the service was good. However, to get the appetizer happy hour specials we had to leave our table and order it from the bar. The queso dip was very thick and chunky. Not smooth and creamy like queso should be. No frozen margaritas. And the happy hour margarita on the rocks must have been made with very cheap tequila because it was not very good. The burger was decent but very few toppings. My wife had the brisket tacos and she was pleased with them. Will probably eat someplace else the next time we go to a show there.
Great food, atmosphere, entertainment, music, friendly and attentive waiters and waitresses! The building has eye catching art throughout which are great use for picture backdrops. The Kitchen area is also entertaining in that you can see the cooks prepare the food while you wait. We did not use the bar, however it is an eye catcher with a large verity of drinks to choose from! This was our first visit but it will not be our last! In the words of our waiter Richard...turn up!
Everything was good from waitstaff to food. I highly recommend if you are in the area, go there to enjoy the food, music and the atmosphere.
Our server was named Richard. He was pleasant, knowledgeable of the menu and helpful! The food was quite tasty, and I wouldn't hesitate to return!
Good food but slow service. The concert venu was awesome!
We all enjoyed our meals and appreciated the good service from Richard. Only issue was it being a bit drafty, with the still cool and windy weather earlier today.
The best thing about the resturant is that it's a short walk to the music venue. The resturant probably wouldn't survive in it's current form without that aid. Service, food, drinks are all OK, but uneven. Sat for a long time before seeing the waitress, after that she was quite attentive. Took a long time to get first round of drinks after order, second round came quickly. Mains came a couple of minutes after appetizer. Some of the food was very good, some mediocre. I guess that's how they roll.
The evening was perfect along with the concert
The service was excellent and the food was great and on time. We were early and the staff was very friendly
