My reservation was confirmed with a phone call from the establishment as well as via open table. When we arrived I was informed that they gave our table to another group, I was also told some other table was supposed to have been there an hour and had not left yet. We were offered a booth for the six of us (a booth seats 5 I was told) or high top tables, which I declined as I wanted us to all sit together and I do not like sitting on a bar stool to eat. We waited 20 + minutes for another table. We were seated, then waited. The manager came and got our drink order. We were told our waiter would be right over. We waited some more. The waiter came took our order. The manager came back while we waited for our food and refilled our drinks. The food arrived, cold. The pulled pork sandwich had no sauce on it just meat and bread. The bread on my burger was dry, stale and crumbly. We asked for the check when the food came to speed things up as we were running late by that point. We asked for bill to be split in half. When he returned with the check we gave him our cards right then. It took a good 10 minutes for him to return with our cards and receipts to sign. Then to top it off, the next day my sister noticed there were two charges from the House of Blues on her bank statement. One for the right amount and one for a little over 40.00. She had to call and see what that was about and to make sure that is resolved. Not a good experience at all. That was my first and last time dining there. I will never dine there again. There are too many other options downtown to eat dinner that have better service and food.
First Steve Gilbert and the band was great!!!! He acknowldge my dad and uncle and aunt they were celebrating birthday and anniversary. Dei the waitress was not so good, she waited on our 10 person table. It took her over 30 mintures to bring drinks, she didn't know the diffeent types alcohol or wine at the bar! She never refill our glasses with water! The food was cold when served, the taste was horrible! The ambience was great! My dad and uncle/aunt did enjoy spending time with family and they enjoyed the band!!! one of the staff gave of free tickects to the show upstairs, we went for a short period, it was cool!
Drinks were not good at all nor was the food . No straws were available also.
It was me and my hubby's date night. We had a great time. The foor and drinks were on point. I had the brisket taco's, which were amazing. The hurricane drink reminded me of the hurricane you get at Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans.
Our wait person, YaYa, was excellent. Music very nice.
Restaurant and bar pours good cocktails...upstairs at the music venue bartenders scared to let one more drop than a jiggar get in your small cup....for TWELVE dollars. Won’t do that again.
Ordered the salmon and got a salmon nugget... Flavor was average.
Highly recommend the grapefruit vodka... It was delicious.
First visit here and from out of town. Service was spectacular. And food was amazing
My friend and I saw your Ad prior to leaving for Houston for the AKA Convention. I e-mailed the address given and asked reserved a date. In a short time I received a reply and periodically a reminder..
When we arrived we were greeted and shown to a table in a very few minutes. Our waitress was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu selections and patient. She had a great sense of humor. We enjoyed our meal and luckily I my hotel room had a refrigerator for I had extras to take home.
If we ever return to Houston we will be sure to make this one of our stops.
Excellent food and service, everyone was very customer service friendly and burger and happy hour drink was on point
The restaurant was very accommodating for a party of 12. Our server did a great job however, it was difficult at times to gain her attention for service.
Enjoyed dinner with a friend while we were in town for a convention.
Service was a little slow and there were a few issue with billing at the end.
I felt that they were VERY Stingy with the drinks, @$12.00+ I expect at lease a Full glass,
They were serving drinks in very small plastic cup and not even filling it half way.
Orlandria was our waitress and was very sweet. She did a great job and was very friendly. We had our food in no time and had no problem making the show. We will be back.
Service and Food was okay. I ordered a salad with Salmon, first off they didn't ask how I wanted the salmon cooked, they brought it out medium. I asked them to please cook it well done. By the time they brought it out my friends had already finished their meals. The second time they brought it out it was crispy on the outside and still not well done in the inside, not quite sure what they did for 20 minutes. They were nice enough however not to charge me. I would also recommend you not order the sweet ice tea unless you want to be in a diabetic coma.
This was a terrible experience. I expected the same as when I visited the HOB in Orlando. Highly disappointed.
Great food and wonderful service. The place was family friendly and moderately priced. Variety of options so everyone found something they liked.
had a great experience. was seated quickly. service was great very laid back enjoy the live entertainment plus just having to go upstair for show was very connivance
As soon as I walked into House of Blues I knew I’d be in for a treat. Looking at the menu, I thought to myself, “yo imma get a burger with those pickles.” GOTTA GET THE PICKLESSSSS. So yeah anyways my burger came and when I went to try one of my good ol’ pickles, my tastebuds started crying because the pickles were not good. Please get better pickles. Okay bye thanks
I still love you
Great fun night out with friends. Had tickets to a House of Blues concert (upstairs) so we decided to grab a bite to eat at the restaurant and bar downstairs. Good food (Cobb salad was a little salty) and great service. Matthew was very attentive and helpful.
Went for my husband's Birthday weekend brunch - The bottomless mimosa for Jazz Brunch were great. The server was great. The food was fair. The band playing was also great, but the energy in the room was not what we expected. The crowd was much older. Not the most awesome experience. The food was ok, but the portions were huge, leaving us feeling stupid for having ordered two entrees. The food also came out way too fast.
Food and service were great. Love the brunch and live blues music venue.
Overall this was a GREAT night out. Won free tickets for Prince Experience and had never been before so we opted for prepaid parking and dinner reservations. A bit pricy for food and drinks, but would do it again. Manager was GREAT when our food order had issues in kitchen.
David R our waiter was terrific. The Jambalaya is fantastic.
Overall, good food. Building is old and bathroom needs updating.
We were in town for a convention and decided to try House of Blues. They were very accommodating and had no problem meeting our needs. The food was really good and the music was great. The service was awesome! If I ever come back to Houston , I will come back.
Extremely poor service and food cold would not recommend to anyone
Wasn’t busy so no excuse for the poor service and quality of food
The service was great and the food was very good. Just your typical bar and grill menu items so I was not expecting much but the voodoo shrimp was one of the best things I ever ate. The Lucy burger was delicious and the fries were extra hot, like they cooked them just for me. My wife ordered the fried chicken and gave me one of her pieces. I ended up not finishing my burger because I couldn’t stop eating that fried chicken. Beer and wine were a little pricey but my wife never orders the house so what can you say. Friendly staff at the front and great reservation process. They called me to confirm the day of and gave me the set list as I asked what time the headliner started when I made the reservation. Look forward to our next visit.
Good menu with fast and friendly service! Conveniently located under concert venues, and has live music of it's own if not also attending a concert.
Awesome food! Highly recommend the Beef Brisket Sandwich!
The staff was very nice, and the food was very good. Loved the cookie skillet for desert
The food was amazing. We ordered a bayou flat bread, fried chicken a voodoo shrimp and a juicy lucy. The Bayou flat bread was delicious and the bread was nice and crispy. The fried chicken plate was large enough to feed two people. The mash potatoes are some of the best I have had at a chain restaurant and the chicken was amazing. I took half of my plate home and the chicken was still crispy the next day. The Juicy Lucy was just that... very juicy. The staff was all very friendly and courteous and made me feel welcome. This is one of the first times I ate dinner at a restaurant and did not feel rushed.
We had a nice experience. Our server was pleasant. The Happy hour drink prices and food was good.
It wasn't what I expected, might've been due to it being Open Mic night. Either way, the food wasn't that good and the ambiance wasn't as fun as I expected it to be. The hostess' were great and the servers were pretty decent as well.
Met family before an Astros game meal. Did not expect the food to be as good as it was. Expected it to be the chain restaurant portion control food. Was pleasantly mistaken... Food and service were great. Interior was old and dated, but was to be expected since this is a music venue most of the time... but I will be back
I really enjoyed the Saturday Jazz n Blues brunch with my family. The food was good and the music was great. I had the chicken and waffles with bourbon butter and they were delicious. The skillet cookie for dessert was so yummy served hot with fudge sauce and ice cream.
ONLY way to go when out in the area. Open table reservations, fast/friendly service, and great food.
And wanted to enjoy the Houston Jazz Orchestra! Great venue for them!
