If I visit the HoB again for a music venue, I will not be eating there.
I could have had better food and service at a less expensive restaurant, and that's my future plan.
Please do not bombard me with swarms of emails. That was another bad experience with coming the HoB for a concert- THE UN-ENDING EMAILS!
Great music, food and service. Enjoyed our experience as everybody had a fantastic time.
Great service. Love the food. Friendly staff. Made reservations to avoid hassle.
They accommodated my diet, comped my husband’s meal when it wasn’t served with mine, and replaced my dry ribs with very tender, juicy ones. Manager was eager to assure we had a great experience. Will not hesitate to return, especially if attending a show there. Enjoyed the music of the guitarist/singer duration the meal, too!
Rockets game
I was impressed with the food, gator bites where my favorite. The service was really great overall it's a nice atmosphere to have food and drinks before a concert at House of Blues.
Our server, Babs, was extremely pleasant. The food was delicious and the price was moderate. We enjoyed our time at house of blues before the Thunder from Down Under show.
Our wait person Matthew was awesome!!!
The food was great !!
Great service and good food. They even called to confirm our reservation and explained their 15 min cancellation policy. Glad we knew that because we got stuck in traffic so we called and revised our reservation.
Definitely worth the two hour drive! I love the uniqueness!
Our food was served lukewarm and not hot very disappointing server and service was good although he tried to push too often extra money options drinks from the bar also came slowly but it was our first time to Houston’s house of blues we plan on giving it a second shot they always say don’t judge a book by its cover so we will return for one more effort I hope it turns out
A fun place to go. Prices are reasonable and have great service.
This was a birthday celebration for dinner and the concert following. The waiter was Charming and made sure I got my $12 drink he suggested . . . then I didn't see him until I flagged him down to request the check. My food was brought to me by a non-waiter and arrived cold; from the opposite direction of the kitchen. I believe another table probably refused it ( I should have). The tray looked like little food was dabbed across it. I ordered the big barbecue plate and the plate was big all right. The plate consisted of a separate ceramic dish containing half a cup of COLD thick BBQ pork and beans, a pile of brisket (about a quarter pound), a square of cornbread and a separate ceramic dish containing half a cup of coleslaw. Needless to say, I was disappointed in the service and the food and I will not choose the House of Blues restaurant to eat again.
The menu and beer selection are fair. Reservations are strongly recommended.
The service was good. Portions are huge. There was a lot of confusion regarding the pre-concert dinner package.
Great and convenient place to grab a bite before a show at HOB. Servers, Matt and Mark were great.
Our waiter got the manager to allow me to order food for my strict diet. Very helpful. Food was good to boot.
Food great. Live band really good.
Absolutely divine great people great environment ..
This was beautiful inside. The local at work on the walls is fabulous. The menu was sticky. My drink was terrible. My partner liked his. We left bc the food coming out around us didn't like special. The wait staff was great. Raquel was super sweet. She apologies and gave me a free appetizer for my next visit. I told her it wasn't her fault I thought the restaurant would have been better.
First time visiting . Everything was good, food just wasn't excellent. Good wait staff.
I go for the jazz band on Monday night and I asked for a table close to the band and my table was in the back.
Staff started with trying to sit us by kitchen area. (That's a NO)
Wait staff started great. But got less visible as night progressed.
Food came out cold after seeing it sit under heat lamp for 15 mins.
Manager came and did make amends , which is very good. He seemed genuinely displeased for the poor service. Kudos to him.
Would still go back and try again !
Perfect place to spend time before the show.
You’ll be there on time, have the chance to eat and have some drinks before you get in to the concert, all in the same place.
Wait team at the restaurant is great and food enjoyable.
Good experience overall.
Food was Good and service was excellent.
Went for dinner/drinks before the Steel Panther concert. Service was excellent from Kirk. However the quality of the drinks for the price was disappointing. Even after speaking to manager who validated their quality by stating that they were made to “spec” the drinks here continue to have a reputation of being too pricey for what you get. Otherwise we had a great time and enjoyed the atmosphere and live music. Food was ok but the atmosphere is more of what you go to HOB restaurant for.
Was not good food was not tasty drinks was bad it was my moms bday we told them they did not offer anything or say anything. Overall bad service...
Was running late and called to tell them if it was okay and they said that it was fine. Got there and sat down quickly but after that waited 15 mins for the waiter to come see us to give drink orders, and looking around restaurant, wasn’t that crowded. I ended up getting up and going to hostess table to ask for our waiter and he eventually came. After that things got better, he was attentive and the food was good, was expecting more options on food choices but for what I decided to get, was pretty good. Just a simple burger. The manager of the restaurant was walking around and came to our table to see how everything was going and I appreciated that! Me and my dad were eating here before attending the show that night and overall experience was pretty good!
Overall, a very nice evening out on the town. Good, drinks, good food and the pass the line experience was a nice bonus.
Fun place. Good for dinner before a concert. Staff was nice and attentive. Prices are a little high.
Great atmosphere. We were seated immediately. The waitress was very attentive and the food and drinks were good.
Great lunch! Good service!
It was nice dinner in houston.
First time dining here, my Husband and I LOVED IT! We made reservations prior, walked in and decided to dine at the bar. The bartender suggested the Hurricane. And my goodness...it was de-lic-ious! My Husband ordered the Nashville Wings...undeterred by the batenders "warning" of level of spice. And I ordered the cajun pasta subbing the chicken for shrimp. At first bite of the wings my Husband's response was "oh yeah these are spicy." By the 5th wing that was an understatement! He absolutely could not finish the wings, but kept saying the flavor was so good! My pasta was lacking flavor, so I squeezed a few lemons over the top. That gave it a little zing and I cleaned my bowl. When I hear "cajun" anything I automatically think fool of flavor and spices. This pasta didn't meet those standards. However, it was prepared to perfection. The fetuccine noodles were cooked aldenté and the shrimp was perfection. So, i had no problem squeezing my lemons and finishing my dish. Two hurricanes a piece later...we were stuffed! Needless to say we will be back to try more.
Service was really slow and a lot of or order was missing and had to remind or server multiple times.
Thanks for a fun evening of great music, from the La Raza Connection band, delicious food, and dessert. I have been to shows and dining upstairs, however taking in the band, bar and restaurant on the street level is a first. It was awesome! Everyone in my party, and the restaurant, really enjoyed themselves! The food and music are crucial to having a great time, and this experience did not disappoint. I can’t wait to come back!
From the hostess, to the Jazz band, our server, and manager — the service was excellent at House of Blues. The food was also good and I really appreciated the bottomless mimosas. It was a chill and good vibe spot. Bring the same band back they were friendly and played really well!
HOB has a good bar and happy hour specials. We split the hamburger because was so large, but very good. Was a great way to start a Friday night before seeing a concert upstairs.
The decoration and people where great. However, there really is no variety on the menu and the good was not worth the price. The steak was good. The mashed potatoe portion was small cold lumpyand lacked inn any real flavor. There so called salad was a small portion of leaves with thick slices of smelly cheese. The key like pie wss very sweet the cookie skillet the teenagers loved.
Everything was great!!! The food, the vibe, the drinks and the service. My Lovely lady and I had a wonderful time (1st date) and our waiter was always on point. We will definitely be back.
