Came here for our anniversary and had a blast. A little pricey and a bit loud but well worth it. The staff and managers were so friendly. It was a great first experience at the house of blues and we will definitely be back!
The food was once again a bit disappointing especially for the prices.
The server did take my meal off the check without a question. That was good but I’d think bad for kitchen feedback unless they were accustomed to complaints and returns .....
Very disappointing, the 6th HOB I’ve visited and always love them. This location lacks the ambiance the others have, staff was very slow and the food was mediocre at best. The upside was that the musician playing was outstanding!
We ate early, 5:15, so it was relatively unbusy. Service was very good, kitchen, beer and wine list were adequate, food was good, live music was excellent. Place is definitely busy later at night. Gift shop is worth the stop.
Kitchen is always slow. Budget accordingly. I'm still searching for the dish here that I would recommend to someone. Greasy, bland, bar food. Really enjoy the shows here so the convenience plays a large factor in my choosing to eat here before a show. Not next time.
The live music was nice while we ate, and that is really why I brought my 7-year-old son to The House of Blues after an afternoon at the Ross Perot Museum. I feel the food is a bit over priced for the quality and presentation. But as an overall experience, listening and watching live music while dining, I would go again and perhaps stick with appetizers instead of entrees.
Our waiter was wonderful. I decided to treat a couple of friends out for great food and fun. The the chicken pasta, fried chicken, & the ribs (were tuff to chew) has no season at all. I only recommend this place only if you have nowhere else to go
I have never been disappointed with the food at HOB! Always yummy! We eat here everytime we come to a show! #thebest
Food was great and our waiter Mike was awesome! If we are ever in the Dallas area again we would love to enjoy another meal there.
Slow poor service. Waited 52 min and there was only 4 people In the restaurant. Waited before anyone took our drink order 16 minutes.
Food took forever but was good. A bit pricy for what we got. Live music and the dessert - bread pudding- were the best parts.
I plus others complained about the food. It needs more seasoning & the chicken & sausage needs to be larger
Overall the restaurant was okay. I had been there before and it seemed better then. I ordered the salmon and it was really good. However my wife ordered the cajun shrimp tacos and the shrimp looked like packaged and were not even close to spicy or cajun as far as flavor. She did not like them. Lastly they were out of Amber beers on their craft beer list which I would of liked to try. I am coming next month for another show and hope this could happen.
Food was good! Service was slow, could have been because we had a larger party(6 adults, 3teens). I’m town for a cheer meet that could have also been the reason for the service. They were very busy this night.
Great time... good food... good service! Friendly staff!
meal was over cooked..Service was great.
Ordered steak salad. Looked like a chopped up piece of meat with a side of roasted veggies and arugla all separated? That's not a salad, that's a steak with sides. Menu also said there were grilled onions but it was Brussels sprouts. And arugla is way too bitter by itself, needs to be mixed to be edible. Slow service and drinks are way over priced.
Food took a very long time( over 30 minutes) but was worth the wait. I ordered a Mai Tai and was given a whiskey sour. Waitress graciously took off my bill.
Our waitress was fantastic.
Loved our waitress! She really helped us out for the concert we were attending!
I was disappointed with the preparation, taste and quality of the food in general. I ordered gumbo and the special that was reccomended to me by the waiter, chicken teguchipoulas. It is supposed to be Cajun cuisine and it was really bad. The gumbo was really bad and did not resemble any gumbo I have ever had. I live close to New Orleans and I am very familiar with Cajun cuisine. The chicken was supposed to be blackened and was not. It was also served at room temperature like it had been sitting around the kitchen fo a while. I am dissapointed that my wife did not like her fish sandwich which was also supposed to be blackened. It was not and was as bland as the chicken I was served. Took the staff over 30 minutes to gind s bottle of Pelagrino, a sparkling Italian water.
Staff and service was fantastic; however, they had to be because the food and cocktails were below average at the very best. The server and manager did everything they could, but they couldn’t fix mediocre food and drinks. Only thing that saved the night was a very nice Voodoo Shrimp appetizer.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was his first time and enjoyed the live music while we dined. The food was good serving size. :)
This was my first visit, it was a date with my Wife for Valentines day. We were early for our reservation so we went to the bar, the service was almost non existent, the bartender seemed bothered to be there. We were seated for dinner, after 3 tries we ordered a beer, and after 3 more tries we ordered Dinner, A wedge salad that looked like it came from Kroger, a skillet of cornbread that was cold in the middle and Shrimp and grits that may have been worth a third of
the menu price. All in all a bad experience. I will not return.
We arrived early and sat at the bar for drinks prior to dinner. This portion of our visit was perfectly fine.
Upon being seated for dinner we were placed a t a table in the center of the room but because the door kept opening and it was cold outside the entire room dropped to about 60 degrees which made it rather chilly.
Our waitress finally arrived and took our order for our two meals. My date ordered a meal which consisted of veggies and chicken. The veggies were fine but the chicken was so overcooked on the grill that it was like shoe leather. We ended up sending this meal back only never to see its replacement after speaking to the manager. We waited about 25 minutes for the replacement which never showed while my meal got cold, I ordered the jambalaya. My meal was overcooked as well with the rice being extremely mushy and a pretty small portion in relation to the price. We were so tired of waiting for my dates meal that we finally just got up and left without paying for either meal as the waitress apologized.
Will definitely not return for the food or service. HOB should definitely be concerned with the food and service in the Dallas location.
The service was fair. We waited a long time and the appetizer came out at the same time of ONE of our entrees. We had to wait for the other entree. I sent one entree (jambalaya) back because it was BARELY luke-warm. They brought me another bowl which was hardly any hotter. Because of the length of the wait for our food, they did take the appetizer off of the bill.
The service was great! The Live Music was great! The food was good, but they were out of 2 of the 4 desserts offered. It's Saturday night HOB. You're not a newbie establishment. You should really have everything you offer unless it's fresh fish flown in from the coast. We liked the place, but were disappointed with the dessert options & lack of availability.
Also, two sets of entry doors or rotating doors are REALLY needed to keep the weather outside. We were freezing because of the cold air rush every time someone came in or left.
Food was average and service was filled with errors and a lot of send backs and fixes.
We love the atmosphere! We plan to eat at each House of Blues around the country. I was disappointed to be told the kitchen only allows a certain amount of brisket to be sold alone, so I couldn't get what I wanted. I have 9 others to get it at and I'm sure it will be fabulous! The bread pudding is amazing!!
We waited a long time for our food and it didn't taste good. We asked for ketchup and ranch and never got it. We had to rush to eat our food bc it took so long and our concert was about to start. Our tea wasn't refilled.
Our table was not ready when we arrived, even though we had reservations . It was not busy, so there was no reason for it to not be ready. The service was poor. The food wasn't hot when it was served. While the manager did make things right in terms of the price, I would not recommend this restaurant.
One of the people in our party was on crutches and needed to park in the handicapped spot. A man that appeared to be the HOB manager came out to his car that was parked in a handicapped space took a phone call then got back out. We asked about handicapped parking and if he was leaving. He dismissed us and said valet was the handicapped parking. Valet parking is $15. To make a handicapped person pay $15 for parking when a manager that does not have a handicapped tag is using the space illegally is completely wrong. Another person in the restaurant tried to fix it after the fact saying he will move the car and they will comp the valet costs. But we had already parked much further away for $8.
The food was ok and the beer selection was worse than that but I am most frustrated that the website said we could get in early if we had dinner and we ended up finding out it was at the bands discretion. Probably not the restaurants fault but still...I would have gotten fast food and just gotten in line if I had know that.
Atmosphere was dead. Hardly any acts on stage, just one for open mic. Food was okayish, some in our party enjoyed but other food for example that the fried chicken was boney and dry. Our server Trey did a good job though.
We had such an amazing time. Everything was perfect. Our server was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly.
Did not stay long because they could not find reservation until we decided to leave. It was my husband birthday.
My waitress was awesome. We had a party of 24 and she took care of business. We had a lot of problems with our orders and she was on top of it. She was the only waiter for this big party and did outstanding job.
Very average food, slow inattentive service.
I never thought I’d like a mixed drink that involved bacon, but it was great! I definitely recommend the unique house drinks. Not weak, not TOO strong, and tasty. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the music is wonderful!!
