This was our first time here and we were impressed with the food. Also liked that dinner got us to the front of the security line for the show we were seeing
We have always liked going here before shows, but the service gets worse every time. The last few times have been slow even though they didn't seem that busy. Thus last time it took over an hour to get our food even though the place was only 1/2 full. I think that will be the last time we eat there. There are too many other choices in the vicinity.
Ive been here twice over the past few months before concerts. The food and service were both less than average each time. Im going to another concert at HoB next week and Id literally rather eat at Hooters across the street if that tells you anything.
Drinks are overpriced and weak. We ordered the garlic fries, which were okay but nothing truly special. The jambalaya was nice and spicy. The mac and cheese was flavorful, but couldn't used some cheese sauce; my noodles were completely dry. The live music was a nice way to warm up for the Seether concert and kept the mood nice and light. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. It took some time for our order to be taken, but our waitress checked on us numerous times throughout the visit. Overall, I would return, but I have to say it's nothing to write home about.
Hostess was amazing, cheerful, genuine. She asked if we had visited before and we added that it was our first time due to our wedding anniversary. She was sweet in saying she would pass it along to our server. Server was complete opposite of hostess, ALMOST brought down our cheer level but we were so into the live music it didn't happen. Order the Tot Mess as a shared app- this is not your kids tater tots! It was DELISH. Weird/disappointed that there is an extensive Moscow Mule menu but the drinks were served in glasses (?!). The decor and ambiance leave something to admire on every inch of the restaurant!
The staff was superb and the good was delish! Must try the jalapeño cornbread
Decent food, terrible inattentive service. Convenient spot to valet park & dine before shows, but we would never come except before shows - the service is horrible.
Shrimp and Grits was tasty! Would definitely order again. Had dinner prior to Sir No Face event. Rarely visit downtown, was a nice change from the suburbs.
Food was great. But our waitress was never at our table. Took forever to get her to come back and take our order (see we were ready when she brought our drinks. It was our 1st time there and we were taking in all the ambiance.) Never got refills or her coming over to ask if we needed anything. I finally waved her down and I asked for a Togo box and had to ask her twice more after that once when she brought the check (no box) then again when she came to pick up the payment (still no box). Plus we sat at our table for another 20 mins after I asked her for the check.
To busy of a place for there only to be 3 waiters.
Friendly staff and a clean restaurant. Food was fresh and don't pass up the voodo shrimp they are awesome
Went for dinner before the Los Lonely Boys concert. After reading several reviews, we thought it best to stick with the burgers, nothing fancy. The burgers were actually pretty good, although a bit small.
There was a local blues band playing throughout dinner so it was a bit loud, but they were good.
My wife was upset that the ladies bathrooms were in pretty bad shape... she wanted that noted in any review I wrote.
Fun atmosphere. Place to watch upcoming and hopeful artist perform while you drink and eat. Better to go when an event is going on around the town or weekend.
Dinner then concert
Service and the food were excellent!
First time going, will be going again, no question!
Dallas House of Blues has been a venue that my husband and I are willing to travel 2.5 hours to go to, the live music, great food and people are the best. We have been here to the Restaurant each time we have come to see one of our favorite artists perform DJ Shadow will always bring us to this place of Great Food and People. Thank you for an AMAZING weekend with my husband.
Food was just okay. Live music during and atmosphere was excellent
We were visiting Dallas from another state. The service and food were great! However, the main reason for us going was because it was Free Blues Night and we wanted to hear live music that allowed teenagers under 18. The music was supposed to start at 6:00 but nobody was there. We kept asking if there was going to be someone playing. We were there until 9:30 pm catching up with friends thank goodness because the musician/band scheduled to be there NEVER SHOWED! HUGE disappointment!
Visited Dallas and wanted to take wife to nice place and listen to live music, well the live music never showed up. Meal was fair wife enjoyed her salad saying it was one of the better she had ever had but my steak was not very good and over cooked. How can you over cook a steak in Dallas? Made a reservation for a restaurant that had 6 people in it. As a concert venue it is great ( so I am told by locals we know ) but I have had much better experiences at the Florida and Vegas locations.
The bartender who waited on me was phenomenal. I wish I remembered his name. I was dining alone that evening, and he went above & beyond to make me feel comfortable, making excellent recommendations & even brought me an extra piece of fish when my salmon salad came out with what he said was a smaller piece than normal. There was a live band playing that only added to the great vibes. Thanks for a great evening!
Great for week day dinners specifically Fridays and Saturdays. Would not recommend doing a birthday dinner on Sunday. Good customer service and moderate prices.
Two people in our party. We each had a coupon for a free appetizer. We asked the waitress if we could both use them. She said yes. She said she would put the order in on two separate receipts. When we asked for our check she came back and said she could only give us one free appetizer. I asked her if she took off the more expensive one and she returned with it still on the check. We ended up speaking to the manager because we did not think it was fair that we abided with the terms on the coupon. And also we did not appreciate the waitress telling us she could deduct the appetizer and in the end she charged us. Their most expensive appetizer is $14 and is supposed to be the house favorite. It only had 5 and a half pieces of shrimp. Definitely not $14 worth. The rest of our food did taste good and I would go back because I enjoyed the music also. The manager did end up removing both appetizers from our checks.
Service was extremely slow just to get a drink. Took forever. Food was cold and salmon not cooked all the way. It was mushy. They forgot yo put asparagus in our salads. So had yo wait again for that. Waiter didn't believe it came with it so double checked us. Drinks were incredibly expensive. Will for sure drink somewhere else before I come thete again for a show. Just wayyyyyyyyy tooooooooo expensive for everything and for what you get. Probably will never eat there again
We dined at the restaurant prior to going to a music event and the service is very slow and it was very crowded and we had to wait for a while too.
Got free tix to Jimmy Vaughn otherwise would not have happened. First table was too dark. 1st waitperson, Audrey, eventually disappeared and handed us off to some guy. Felt dis'd. All worked out. Food was good. Again, really there for Jimmy Vaughn since we got free tix. Which we appreciate. Thanks.
We reserved a table before the concert and it was very convenient before the show.
The food was not good we ordered a Juicy Lucy hamburger and it just had cheese on top not in the middle of the burger the wings were not spicy at all. But a plus side the service was real good. I think next time I'll do Hooters.
First time guests. Really loved our pre-concert drinks and dinner
Problems with the kitchen messed up my food. Came cold and then took over 25 minutes to replace it. Had a concert so we skipped dinner. Everyone who ordered burgers or flatbreads looked happy. Wish I had ordered that or been told it would take so long. Inattentive waiter didn't help as I had to keep calling him over for drink refills, but manager was nice. And the Miller Lite tap was out. If you go there, get a burger and stay away from fancy things like meatloaf....
Great food! Crappy beer selection. Only two beees on tap?! Come. On. Otherwise, great experience!
Food was good. I had buffalo chicken salad, FB had a flatbread that was extra crispy crust which he likes. We were there for a concert, and the server was not well versed in the concert venue. Didn't seem interested in finding out the answers to my questions. Live Music in the dining area was good.
We went for fun but also because I want to sing in a good atmosphere. It all worked out great, the staff was really nice and I enjoyed hitting the stage. We plan on going back as regular as possible.
My server was great. She told me about the skip the line option at the end of our meal also. However, The guy who brought our food wasn't looking at the table when he set down our food and dropped half of my food in my lap. My burger was great and my daughter loved her food also. There was a local guy singing on stage after we got there too. Prices were cheap for Dallas standards. We will be back most definitely.
I was not too impressed with food quality. The meat loaf did not taste like meat loaf. The potatos tasted good. Too pricy for how it tastes. Beer prices are way too pricey. Also ordered a burbon cake pudding which actually tasted great, which was only thing I really enjoyed. The wings I ordered were tasty, but needed more sauce and also were small and pricey as well.
It's disappointing that the main bar in the dining room doesn't have the vast alcohol selections that were available in the Cambridge Room for the show we attended. You would think they'd have the same selections or better in the main dining room.
First visit Great and entertaining ... show was good.. seating was less to be desire,if standing, no bar tables to place drinks or food. Paying extra for a small chair was out of the question paying an extra 36.00 for chairs that look like folding was a NO!! .
Music was a bit to loud for fine dinning. Had a hard time hearing my hubby but food was delicious
Service was awful. Waited for an hour for our food and still didn't get it with no communication of being backed up. Missed 30 minutes of the concert
Slow service, more than 30 minutes to get drink order, too loud for conversation at our table
Everything was great except my food which was Cajun pasta and it was very very greasy, street taco's were good, live music was good, service was good as well.
We had a terrible experience. The music was too loud... the service was ver bad.. Food was terrible, greasy, salty,.... Doesn't worth it at all....
