The food and service was amazing. However, the “pass the line” was a joke and confusing. No one there could give me a straight answer on how it worked. Even the workers looked confused when I asked them about it.
My dish was a little bland in taste and the chicken was cut into little peace which gave the meal a low quality taste
Everything was enjoyable. Prices were a little high for bar drinks. The service was very below average. Not sure if this is the norm or not. We were there on a Sunday evening, might have been under staffed. Otherwise had an enjoyable time.
We were sat at a table in the bar area. Our server was also the bartender. She was more focused on the bartending aspect then she was of her tables. Our drinks repeatedly ran dry, she got our food order wrong, took forever to fix our food order. The manager comped us a free dessert and the bartender was rude about it. When she looked at our bill she said, "looks like my manager gave you free stuff". Yeah she did give us free stuff which saved the bartenders tip. She didnt deserve a tip but we still tipped 10&15% which she so did not deserve.
Our Waitress was awesome and super great communicating with us. Offered the GREAT food / drink specials and offered us a "hop" so we didn't have to wait in line for the concert.
We had the Shrimp and Grits... Awesome !
It was fabulous. Food was great, atmosphere was fantastic, servers/hostess were very attentive and friendly. Will definitely eat there again.
Went to HOB for a comedy concert, and was surprised at the level of food they served. VERY good, will go back.
Wrong item ordered was received by my guest for dinner in restaurant. Took 45 minutes for car to arrive after show, this was with valet parking. Was cold outside and attendant indicated he wanted to go home so took heat lamp where you could get a little relief. Was my first time visiting and probably will be my last. Not worth the hassle and food was nothing special.
Went there before Fleetwood mac concert. got 15% discount which was nice. Waiter was great and food was to. would definitely recommend and will return as well. great experience at both the restaurant and concert.
The food was excellent. The staff was also excellent. One of our meals was delayed by almost 10 minutes but before we even thought to complain, the wait staff and management (4 different people) all noticed, all tried to move it along, all apologized and ultimately didn't charge us for that meal. Not their fault - kitchen problem. So why the low rating for service? The valet parking crew was horrible. We waited for 25 minutes for our car and had to ask twice for them to go get it. A few others got their cars sooner but the average had to be more than 20 minutes. If you want to offer valet service get it right...Go there for the food and wait service but don't use the valet.
Having been there before, no disappointments. Food was good and quick to be delivered. Second waitress and manager did everything to get things right. Great time! We’ll go again!
The food was excellent. Brisket Nachos were great. A bit too busy for my take but that is to be expected on a Saturday night. Overall we had a great time before the concert started.
Had a blast. Great place for food and music. The restaurant is great to have dinner and drinks before a show and very convenient to the music venue.
The music was just ok but the food and the people were great!
Dinner before a show in the Cambridge Room
Ashlee W., our waitress was awesome!!! Never been before. Husband forgot his credit card at the restaurant and was sooo happy that it was safe and secure when he called and came back to get it
Very attentive waitress, not overbearing, but GREAT service. Atmosphere was good. Staff all seemed upbeat and helpful in all parts of the venue. There for the Walker Hayes shows, which was fantastic.
Very well laid out floor plan with a cool outside patio. Our server Kaleigh was absolutely amazing and made the experience a memorable one. Would 100% come back not only for the shows but for the dining experience as well.
Ethan was our server and he was great. There was a saxophone player there who was highly talented, and I would like to see him again. I will def be returning.
It was a crazy night--no one knew when the concert would start--we were given the wrong information by the servers, so we ended up rushing out of the restaurant at 7:25, only to find that the main act was not going on until 10:00. :( The gumbo was delicious. The cornbread was AWFUL--not cooked all the way through--gummy. My friend enjoyed her flatbread. Service was slow. Yug overall!
We went there this past weekend and were really excited about going to the House of Blues, but I say save your money. The live music was disappointing, but not by fault of the artist. He seemed like a really talented musician, but the sound quality was terrible and we couldn't understand what he was singing. Then the food came and it looked good, until my husband bit into his chicken sandwich and got a mouth full of bone. Yes, the chicken had all of the bone still intact. When we asked the waitress if there was supposed to be bone in it she said, "Umm I don't know." The manager did come by and apologize and took his meal off the ticket, and brought him a different entrée. He also said he was going to get his next beer and take care of the whole meal, which that didn't happen, but the chicken sandwich was taken off, so that is really what mattered. Then the waitress came back and said that another person had ordered one and bit into it to find bone earlier in the day, as well. So why it wasn't checked after incident one... I don't know. The waitress also gave us "tickets" to the show as a courtesy, which we thought was awesome....until we went over there and they told us those weren't tickets, they were only passes to get to the front of the line. My husband went back in and told her and she gave him two more....which were the same thing, so we stopped wasting our time there and left. I will say the environment was nice, but it felt no different than eating at a Hard Rock Café.
Food was terrible! Ordered new item on menu and it tasted terrible!
The night did not start well as 30 minutes after being seated, we only had water and had a show to get to. Our waitress came by twice and apologized but somehow couldn’t produce cocktails or food! Fortunately, Jose & Rosa came to the rescue to save the evening. They both worked together to get our drinks and meal to us right away, doing the right thing by comping our drinks and even sending us to our concert with a complimentary round! Everything was delicious—-really surprised at how good the rib platter was! We definitely will go back!
Quality of food compared to prices not very good. Drinks overpriced.
We had table reservations but decided to have dinner at the bar. Both bartenders were awesome. We enjoyed both our food and drinks. Had a wonderful time before the JJ Grey and Mofro concert.
I like this Dallas HOB the best, having gone to many HOBs in California. The staff are very nice and warm and friendly unlike California, where they are like rigid, cold cops (I support the police, btw). I have recommended Dallas HOB to friends and we have gone quite a few times. I like the complimentary tickets because it gives me incentive to go to the restaurant first and partake of the yummy hand-crafted berry cocktails and excellent fish sandwich. The waitress actually asked me if I wanted more ketchup for my fries instead of me having to flag her down for more ketchup. Yes, I'm a fan of Dallas HOB. Oh, and LOVE the Foundation Room for after shows. The decor looks like my furniture. :D
The staff was amazing! Other than that not a great experience.
When we arrived it took around about 20 mins to valet ( $15), no other close, real parking options. They had cancelled the music, and turned it into a sports bar for a cowboys game but didn’t send out notice of the change of venue. I paid around 50 dollars for 1 drink, over salted salmon, and macaroni that tasted like box macaroni. It took almost 45 mins for the valet to bring us our car back.
Even if I wanted to watch the game they placed us where neither of us could see but even after the game they didn’t play music.
I was severely disappointed.
The only thing I can give them is since we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant that were occupied the service was amazing, almost to the point of please stop sending 5 people to check on us. However, they were all super friendly so I tipped on quality of service. I can’t imagine ever going back unless it’s someone else’s choice.
Such a fun environment! The service was great, the food was a bit pricey but so good and drinks were wonderful! We will definitely be returning ASAP!
Excellent the service was great! I came in right on my scheduled reservation.
The food was excellent and so was the service! Great atmosphere!!
Not quite worth the value which was evidenced by the lack of a crowd on the night of a Mavs/Lakers game. The wait staff was perfect and my lower rating is not at all a reflection of same. Understand it's uptown and there is a premium associated with that, but $16 for a double Tito's rivals airport prices. Food was OK, not great. Could have taken my son somewhere and had a couple steaks for the price we paid out the door.
Service was attentive and suggestions were great. Appreciated all .
Good food, good service, live music, and they offer a discount when you come to eat before the concert.
Drinks were good. Fried chicken platter is fabulous!
My server was good but the food was horrible and my drinks were terrible. However we did enjoy the concert.
Next time we will have food and drinks before we come to a show
Reliable venue. Great location for hotel walk also.
We got the apetizers with the entrees...
The back ribs were very dry, tasteless like carton board
The Cajun pasta were just ok
Hopefully the waitress was good and funny
I really enjoyed my dining experience. The brisket sandwich I would recommend and the service was great.
House of Blues offers a unique and vibrant setting with exceptional service (Danielle) and great food. The environment with the eclectic décor and live music and personable service really make the experience.
The food and vibe were excellent! I ordered voodoo shrimp and drinks. We were there for concert later in the evening. I had an amazing time at both the restaurant and concert!
We had fun
