Went in with meal vouchers prior to a concert not knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, a little pricy though. I had the Shrimp and Grits...I would definitely recommend that!
I made a reservation 36 days in advance of a concert event and the plan was to have dinner and see the event. My reservation was for 4:45 pm. I arrived early having to travel in heavy rain and thunderstorms. When I arrived I learned that the restaurant was CLOSED for a “private event.” I was not contacted. This is my second time to House if Blues Dallas and both times have been a disaster.
Arrived early: was told they no table was available: had to order and eat at the upper bar area before the concert: then HOB reported back to Open Table that we missed our reservation.
Great place to go right before a show but beware, it took 15 before anyone even came to our table, and it took us almost an hour to get our burgers after we ordered. The beer was almost room temp and the hostess was the nicest person we ran into.
Thank you kindly for your feedback! So very sorry you not experience 5 star service. Management is discussing with all those on duty during the evening of your visit. We can promise you we hold our staff to a much higher standard and we would love for you to give us another chance!
Nachos way too greasy and hardly any meat. Not good st all.
I went to see a concert at the House of Blues in Dallas. The sound sucked! I couldn't understand a word the performers were singing. I paid $149 for two tickets for standing room only. The problem was that the establishment was being greedy by selling tables for $250! What a rip-off! There was nobody to tell the audience that there was a singer proceeding the show, so I waited nearly an hour and a half for the real show. In order to buy souvenirs, you had to pay cash and use an extremely slow ATM that overcharged everyone -of course. Once the show was over, there was no directions given to pickup your car up from the valet. I had to wait for nearly an hour for my car. Standing around with a whole bunch of drunk people. I won't be returning...
We are so sorry your experience was anything less than 5 stars, Ruth! VIP upgrades are available for many shows, with the prices varying depending on capacity. Show line ups are featured on the website, although no times are listed other than doors and the start of the show, as artists like flexibility during their performances. As for Valet, they accept your tickets and get the cars on a first come first serve basis.
Great bartenders and the barbque nachos were awesome. Good live music in the restaurant. Then I went Downstairs to see George Thorogood to do an awesome performance that’s “bad to the bone”. Great songs like “get a haircut and get a real job”. “I drink alone”.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the evening at our House, Ronald! Come back and visit again soon.
Staff was attentive. Food was exceptional. Drinks were the bomb!
Thank you for the 5 star review and staff shout out!
Service was lacking. We had to flag down our waitress several times. The wrong meal was brought out and it took another 20 minutes to get brisket tacos. The brisket was hard and dry.
Thank you for providing your feedback. We will be pre-shifting table touches with all waitstaff so everyone is aware of the importance!
Food is average, prices are high. Considering it was prime time with a show that night, was surprised that service was slow. Even waited for a table when one was set and others were waiting. Wouldn't go back.
We appreciate the feedback. We do experience a high volume of guests before concerts, and strongly recommend making a reservation. There is also the Foundation Room on the top floor of House of Blues that is open Wednesday - Saturday and has an amazing dinner menu so you can get a meal before the show.
I had purchased a 50dollar voucher to go wth a 50 dollar certificate for a total of 100 dollars. The waitress didn't even know what the voucher was and my tab was less than 40 dollars but she said ihad to use the whole 100 dollar value to pay for it. Total robbery on the part of House of BLues.
I was disappointed at first.... We had 6:15 reservations.... Arrived on time ... We were told we had to wait for a table to clear.... I witnessed two tables clear... But we were not seated... 20 minutes later.... After finally being seated?.... From there forward everything was excellent. Our waitress was kind and attentive... (I wish I could remember her name to give her a 'shout out') .... Our drinks arrived quickly.... Food order, to kitchen, to table time was quick! .... Loved my Memphis style ribs platter... Wifey loved her bacon Cheeseburger..... Our only regret?.... We wouldn't have eaten it all if we were just going to go home... But we gobbled it all almost gone because 'take home boxes' wouldn't be cool in the concert venue area.... I'll give the dining experience an overall 4.0.... Only because of the lack of table upon arrival.... 5.0 rating after that mishap.... We will be back....
Stephen, thank you so much for your feedback! So sorry you were not set at your reservation time. Management is discussing ways to improve the accuracy of Open Table and online reservations. Please come visit us again soon!
Great staff! We always have a great time. Very cool vibe
Thanks so much, Gayla! We look forward to having you back again soon.
Very friendly staff. Good food and live music. Can't go wrong.
True that! Thank you for the review.
had never been to HOB before, but decided to go and see througood. The concert was good and and the setting for it was nice. The restaurant and Bar we Bad at best. We'll start with the bar review. SInce I was there to see Througood I order a bourbon, a scotch and a beer. I Knew the scotch was wrong when it hit the table. Scotch isn't a clear liquid. Took a sip anyway and I'm pretty sure they sent me Vodka. Now for the food. I had the country steak dinner and it was so over cooked that the breading latterly shattered every time you tried to stab it with a fork, and the meat under it was dried out and tough. THe flavor was OK some had just burned the crap out of it. My girl and the Brisket Tacos and she mentioned how cold they were even before she realized that my meal wasn't good. The manager came by and tried to make amends by giving us desert. It turned out to be dried out and over cooked too. I will go back for another show but I'll eat down the street first.
The menu is a bit pricey for certain things but that is to be expected for a venue like this. The Voodoo shrimp is awesome. We enjoyed the grilled salmon but were disappointed in the chicken fried steak. The steak was super thin but looked like it would have been thicker. All the extra breading was deceptive. Our server was excellent!
Check us out during Happy Hour! We have some great food and beverage options all ranging from $4-$6. Plus free live music!
First time here and I looooved the music and my shrimp and grits were amazing. I’m a fan! I’m coming back again!
Thank you for the 5 stars, Lynn! Come back and see us again soon.
Food was great. Service good. Live singer was awesome...loved the 🤠 providing the dinner entertainment.
Thank you so much for your feedback! House of Blues Restaurant & Bar has Free Live Music + Happy Hour 7 days a week.
Great BBQ meal! Beer is expensive, spent more on beer than the meal.
We appreciate the feedback, Tiffany. Come visit us during Happy Hour, all beverage offerings range from $4-$6!
This was our first, and my last, visit. It took over 50 minutes to get our food, which was only hamburgers, almost had to leave and not eat so we didn't miss the show. The restaurant was not very busy at the time, about 1/3 full. Our server, well the server that was training our server, was sassy and felt we just didn't have 'enough patience' and we could leave it we want (I guess and go hungry to the show). When we first asked about the time it was taking (around 6:05), and told our server that we have been waiting for over 30 minute since we arrived at 5:30, her response was it haven;'t been 30 minutes arrived around 5:35. When we were finally serviced (6:25), our food was cold and wrong, like my cheese burger had no cheese. When she brought us our food, the main server asked if she should bring the check so we wouldn't have to wait on them. We said yes, thanks. After we finished our food (around 6:40), I had to hunt down our server (literally get up and find her) and asked for the check. She snapped back that she was doing it now and that I should just be patient. In the end, after I gave her my credit card, the manager comped the food, but even at free it wasn't worth it. I will not ever return. Oh, friends we met at the show... Same experience not only that night, but a few months back when they came.
Food was delicious - our server was great and the live music was at the perfect volume. We could still talk and enjoy ourselves and the music at the same time. We didn't have to yell over it.
So happy you enjoyed dining with us, Heather!
Loved the ambience and decor but the food was not very good. The service was excellent tho! Would definitely return for drinks and entertainment
Hi Melissa - we appreciate the feedback and management is discussing with the kitchen regarding the 4/1 date you visited. Please give us another shot!
I would them to eat at some other place as the food has much to be desired.
Everything, especially the service and food, was fantastic. However, we purchased the $40 dinner package and that caused a lot of confusion. But it did not affect our experience because the package was honored at the value I purchased despite it not being scannable.
Hope you visit us again soon, Allison! We are re-training our staff regarding our Dinner Packages and Pass The Line options.
Food was great but the sandwich was way out of proportion. Too much bread for little ham and condiments
Leticia - thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback.
Wee had a really nice dinner, the waitress was very personable and enjoyed a great show.
Great to hear!
Went for dinner before a concert in the main venue (legendary Buddy Guy). Food was excellent and our waitress was outstanding. The lady singing in the restaurant was great too even if the diners weren't paying attention to her and the two musicians backing her up.
We appreciate you dining with us before the show!
Cusion your table reservation with extra time so you will not feel rushed if you are also attending a show. Reception, Hostess, Waitress, Service and Food all Very Good
Thanks, Chuck! We appreciate the 5 stars.
HOB is a good place to dine before a show. My wife ordered a brisket plate. The meat was cold and very tough. However, the manager and chef came to the table to offer their apologies and replaced her order with fresh and tasty brisket. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive until the bill was paid. They made us feel guilty for continuing to sit at the table. They did have a full house and customers waiting. Overall, the HOB is convenient on show nights.
We appreciate your review and feedback!
Our server was not very attentive. I realize this is Dallas Texas, but the price isn't something the average person can afford.
So sorry, Sandie! We will continue to pre-shift key service points with our staff.
Menu prices are somewhat pricey. The bbq plate I had was very good especially the brisket. The pulled pork average but not bad. The beans were good. My dinner was discounted with a promo but at full price of 30 dollars would be overpriced. The key lime pie was wonderful. Service excellent. I did see what I was told was a brisket nachos that was stacked so high would feed two or three easily. I was seated at my table promptly.
Thank you for your review, Keith!
The hostess could have been more welcoming with their greeting. However, management and my waiter were nice and helpful. The food was great.
Thank you for the feedback! Happy to hear you enjoyed your meal!
The food I actually ate was fantastic. My original order of chicken was not fully cooked, but the management quickly replaced it with my choice of brisket tacos. They were very generous by taking a large percentage off my check for my inconvenience. I could not be happier with their excellent customer service!
Great to hear! Thanks for the review, Sheila.
Too expensive. Too slow. Drinks took even longer than our server and food. It wasnt the servers fault either they had them all over the restaurant helping people.
So sorry, Erin!
Excellent food, good service, fun atmosphere. The BBQ Brisket Nachos make an excellent starter and big enough for a crowd.
Thank you so much for dining with us! The Brisket Nachos are one of our new menu items and they are quickly becoming a fan favorite!
BBQ brisket was great
Great food! Great service! Everyone was moving and shaking.
So great to hear! Our Restaurant & Bar is the perfect place to grab a bite before a concert or game, but we also have free live music every night of the week so you can make an evening out of dining with us.
My husband and I had dinner before seeing Queensryche, our server...I believe his name was Ethan was very friendly and attentive. My husband had the Juicy Lucy and his only complaint was the bun was soggy...but what do you expect with a Juicy Lucy? I had the cajun pasta and I thought it could have had a little more flavor... but we had a great time and will definitely return...THANK YOU!!!
We look forward to having you back again soon! Thank you for the kind review.
House music is too loud and the waiter takes too long to bring your check after you request it
We appreciate your feedback, Kenneth. Management will discuss with production and waitstaff. Please give us another shot!
I recommend the shrimp and grits! Both half and full racks of ribs are also excellent!
Thank you for the recommendations, Richard! We hope you will dine with us again soon.
