Very busy night as usual with concert and events at The Q, so glad to have my Open Table reservation. Our waiter Ronald was excellent. Split the brisket & pulled pork platters. Highlights were the side dishes of baked beans, slaw, zucchini, & cornbread. Was served some very fatty brisket and pulled pork a little dry. Three barbeque sauces give you nice options. Sad to see a table next to us being served a beautiful plate of brisket as we were leaving. There is an entrance to the concert hall from the restaurant for dinner patrons which is nice. **Mark the bartender was nice enough to apologize about the food when he asked how our meals were during the intermission. That says a lot about the staff. Will return but probably try something different.
Went with friends before a concert there. Great food!
The food was ok but not as good as we hoped. But the show was amazing!! We will definitely go back.
Went for a concert. Made a reservation for 2 hr before show . We were done eating in less than a hour.Waitress was greatest told us to relax and did not rush us to leave.Food was very good and priced about normal for area
Food was terrible, service was even worse, and after talking to the manager we were told "I'm sorry you had a poor experience".
Food was great. Only thing is we had to ask for bill 3 times. Dine eating ready for concert and took 25 min to get a bill.
Food was just okay. The service was horrible. Had a 6:00 reservation. It was at least 25 minutes before anyone took our drink order and I had to track someone down . Someone other than our waiter took a drink order and our food order at same time because we were afraid we would not see anyone again, plus we were going to the show . Finally the waiter came over to confirm our drinks but this time we were sitting for 45 minutes. Food came not to far after the drinks because we put our order in earlier. Meal itself was okay. Then it took at least 45 minutes to get our check....wasn't even busy at this point. There was only one other couple who was also waiting forever. Waiter said sorry but it was very insincere horrible.... experience was horrible worst service I've ever had. I don't know the waiter's name. Never did tell us.
Yummy food. Great music. Our server, Sam, was fantastic! Beers were overpriced.
I took my daughter (7) for dinner before our show. The kids menu had many options which was nice. The adult menu was a little small in my opinion.
Everything was great - just need to fix up that hurricane. For a $15 drink with three kinds of rum, you should be able to taste the rum! There is a "window of love" I call it where everything is in balance - juice, rum - everything. It should not tase like juice straight out of the fridge. And if the menu says "dark rum floater", there should be a dark rum floater - there should be dark rum floating on the top, not "it's in there". I think this is a general problem with the midwest - drinks (particularly margaritas) are too sweet and completely out of balance. It is a cultural problem because given these sweet drinks consistently, that's what people think a hurricane or a margarita is - it is not. Please, let us refine our tastes and demand that drinks be prepared in balance and with love. If you are ever in Terminal E at the George Bush Airport (IAH) in Houston, do yourself a favor and order a hurricane at Pappadeaux with a dark rum floater.
Ok, that's my rant, and as I pointed out I think it is a midwest problem in general. Everything else was fabulous. Service was great, shrimp tacos lovely, atmosphere fantastic, show afterward tons of fun.
Even though the whole city was crowded due to the Miranda Lambert concert and the Cavs having a home game, the service was excellent and the food was even better.
The HoB restaurant was not particularly crowded when we were there, but the first thing that struck me was how loud it was. It was difficult to have a conversation and to not eavesdrop on our neighbors. The gentleman who seated us definitely gave off an site that he did not want to be there...not rude by any means, but sulky, for sure.
Our server was friendly and talkative. We sat at a table for two that was a bit small for all of the crap stacked on it. Important to note. We ordered the hot wings, and they were very, very good, but came out so temperature hot that they were difficult to eat. Not a complaint, exactly, but we were no where near done with them when our dinners arrived, and there was not enough room on the table.
We ordered the wings when we placed our drink order. So, timing is a bit of an issue, and it was obvious that there was disconnect.
The food was very good. No kitchen complaints at all.
We sat around waiting for our server at the end of the meal. When I confirmed my reservation, they specifically asked if we were attending a show that night (we were), and it was still early, so maybe that was why she took her time, but it concerns me if I had plans.
So, the service was not bad, by any stretch, but the attention to details and attentiveness overall was not as good as it should be...give yourself a little extra time, and do your own pacing on ordering...
The reservation process through open table was super simple. Our table was ready when we arrived and we were seated immediately. Our server promptly brought our drinks and our food arrived hot and fresh. The shrimp and grits is amazing.
Dined here before the concert we were attending. Everything was amazing! My partner and I both opted for burgers and was very pleased! He ordered the Pull Pork and it was good but for me needed more bbq sauce. I had the bacon burger and it was just mouth watering juicy, delicious and seasoned to perfection 😋! We have been talking about this burger for 3 days now! You won’t be disappointed for sure!!!!
After reading tons of Open Table reviews we knew to avoid smoked rubbery chicken, salty salmon, special requests, cocktails due to $$ and entrees due to prep time and value. I had a salad with side of sweet potatoes fries. Salad ok. Dressing just ok. Fries greasy. I choose these because I only eat fish but did not want cajun style blacken fish. I avoid dairy. Spouse got Beef brisket and sweet potato fries. He reported brisket sandwich and coleslaw was ok. Bread pudding was a standout- fantastic. We had fast and extremely friendly service. Staff very accommodating for my accessibility needs in the restaurant and concert hall! We both like the ambience in the restaurant. Quirky decor. We went there because it was convenient prior to attending a concert. $8.00 valet parking a bonus. Get you ticket validated. Save your restaurant receipt to get into concert hall via back door privilege. Restroom in restaurant down narrow hall and small- can not recommend for WC patrons.
HOB Restaurant and Bar always has excellent service. I go there every time before I see a show and never experience problems.
Excellent food & service.
Great place to eat before the show. Plus you can get in the side and not have to wait outside. Make sure you make reservations though!
Food and atmosphere were good and what we’d expect. Service was “weird” in that the young lady serving us spoke very quietly and fast so we needed to ask her to repeat herself and number of times. Downtown Cleveland impressed us with its cleanliness and variety of night life. Will go back.
Went for a pre-concert dinner and was very pleased with our meal, our portion and the speed of service.
The food we got was great, but we did wish that there were more options on the menu. I came during this past summer and they had some great specials, would love to see them on the menu again!
We decided to have dinner here because we were attending a concert at the venue. I waited 45 minutes for my first drink from the bar and we waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering. Then we had to wait 20 more minutes to cash out and settle our check. The server was new so she was misinformed about the menu and rather than say she didn't know she kept answering questions incorrectly about food on the menu and there was a couple dining with us that is gluten-free due to allergies so we had to send back things because of this she should have just said she didn't know rather than give us a line about how certain dishes were prepared. Honestly I wouldn't go back here the food is too expensive for the portion and flavor, and the bartender actually put olives in a peach martini which is hilarious but I had to send that back once I got it and wait for another drink to be made correctly. All in all it wasn't a very good meal start to finish.
Had a great Valentine’s Day dinner it was my first time eating there and we also attended the concert afterwards
Hostess staff and managers were very accommodating to our extrememely large party of 30 people. Food was delicious and service was great! Thank you!
Great experience never had a bad dinner or poor service here. I feel like I'm in Memphis or NOLA when I come here. Efficient wait staff.
Very friendly, nice and accommodating, particularly to have dinner before a concert. The food was okay but several items that we ordered did not come as requested and put our wait behind 15 -20 minutes more.
Kinda disappointed when our TALL BEERS came out in a plastic glass. Kinda hard to hold that!! I think for this type of restaurant using plastic glasses is very cheap!!!!
Meal was good and service was good but when we wanted to enter rear door of concert hall, which is usually what we do after we eat and go to a show, a man insisted on each of us have a restaurant receipt to enter that door. Well that was the first we heard of this. Only one person from our 6 person table kept their receipt. So 5 people had to go get a receipt to enter the door. The servers should ask if you are going to the show and tell you to hold onto your receipt. This instruction was not given by the server. To top is all off the guy at the door was a rude and he told us to move 4 times to stand somewhere else. Annoying man and very upsetting to be treated like that.
The concert was excellent. We go every year to see Fayrewether. We usually alway eat at HOB restaurant shows but maybe not anymore.
Overall food was good. The veggies on my steak salad were a little dry. They were grilled. Probably needed more oil when they were roasted.
Great food prior to seeing Fayreweather.pass the line option was great.Drinks too expensive my only complaint.Great server.
Awesome spicy food. Great desserts. Live music venue was incredible.
Jordan our server, and the food, were great. The prices were a little steep.
The shrimp and grits were amazing. Had just the right spiciness!
I had a Cobb salad there when my food came out the chicken was rubbery and slimy. I was asked my a floor manager how my food was and he told me because the chicken is smoked it’s a hit or miss!! I explained that my husband owns a smoker and that was not the issues. I enjoy smoked meats but I don’t enjoy slimy rubbery meat that barely looks like chicken. I would never recommend the food again and the manager did nothing to make it better he stated he was glad the other food was good and left. I will attach a photo that I took of my horrid food.
Delicious burger. Restaurant was empty on a cold, Thursday night. Always a good meal
We had an amazing time eating at the HOB before the Mod Sun show. Our appetizer, the Carolina Mess, was a creative take on Poutine. I got the fantastic Juicy Lucy burger, and the hubby got the Bacon Cheeseburger. Both were flavorful, cooked perfectly, and presented nicely. Also, the sweet potato fries were heavenly...They were crisp on the outside, yet melted in our mouths. Perfect meal before an outstanding show!
A friend and I had dinner before a show! Easy to make a reservation online, always like the atmosphere, very good and quick service! Also recommend the shrimp tacos and shrimp appetizer- very yummY
Staff was very accommodating, service was outstanding and the food was great. Caught Jim and Eroc live which was an interactive and fun show. In every aspect, it was a great night out with friends.
Our waitress was fantastic and she asked us on several occasions if there is anything additional we need it. She was very polite and attentive. Although our initial food order was not something we enjoyed, the manager came out and was very eager to change our orders. The barbecue bacon cheeseburger was awesome.
We had a wonderful waitress who made recommendations - got us to try things we probly would not have bought at all without her suggestions- all of which turned out to be great
Way too loud, but very good food and customer service. The shrimp and grits was delicious. We had some trouble with our tix to a show, and the manager was fantastic in taking care of everything quickly for us.
