House of Blues Restaurant & Bar - Cleveland Ratings and Reviews
I like to dine at the House of Blues before I go into their concert venue. Not only is the food and atmosphere good, but my dining receipt allows first access to the venue. On this occasion we were there to see The Four Horsemen, a phenomenal Metallica tribute band. I had the smoked chicken with cold slaw and jalapeño corn bread with baked beans. The Texas barbeque sauce had a nice little kick and the sweet sauces (all served on the side) were good also. The cold slaw was hand cut and quite good. I'm not normally a cold slaw fan. The hostesses were friendly and our server was attentive without being intrusive. My only complaint is the beer prices, but I understand that they are the going rate for the area and the type of establishment.
Awful experience! Our party of 4 waited more than one hour to have our food served and our waitress lacked knowledge of menu and was extremely slow. It took at least 15 minutes after requesting another drink to actually have it brought to our table. Then, upon paying our bill, we had to wait another 15 minutes to get our credit card/receipt. We LITERALLy made our concert with SECONDS to spare!! Food was fair on top of a 2 hour experience !
My wife ordered the blackened salmon. It was soooo salty she could not eat it. The waitress and manager tried to make things right. My wife got another blackened salmon. Yep, still salty and unacceptable. The manager was very professional and took the item off of our bill. On the bright side, the concert was a fantastic experience!
My son n I had dinner there. We got the Nashville wings for our appetizer. They were large...crunchy...spiced just right...soo delicious.. .if you like some heat. We both chose the Jambalaya for our entree...which was so delicious...filling. Our waitress was attentive n helpful w everything...look forward to returning again
Our server smelled bad. We asked for lemon in our water, didn’t get the lemons and asked for lemons about 3 times before we got them. The food was less than mediocre, and my friend had hair in her food. My friend had lemonade, and needed a refill. He refilled her cup with water. The waiter insisted the drink was correct. She had to remind/convince him that she ordered lemonade. To make matters worse the menu stated you could order a salad and pick your protein at an additional rate. However, the waiter said they changed their menu (not sure why we didn’t have a current menu) and you had to have chicken and pay for the salmon in addition as a separate entree instead of just an up charge. Bad food, bad service, smelly waiter.
Overall a good experience. The waiter was a bit slow but very friendly. My sister & I got the jamabalya. It was a large portion so if you like leftovers thats perfect for you. Our friends got the cajun pasta & a salad & both were happy with their meals. Its in a great location when attending a concert or sporting event. Its a bit far from the theater district which was our next destination but was worth the drive.Reasonable price range. Would definitely try again for the fried chicken :)
This was are first time visit the house of blues so we thought we would give their restaurant a try. I had the blackened fish sandwich and my wife had the mushroom and bacon hamburger. Both were very good and they came with frys that were nice and hot. Also by eating there we had it validated for reduced parking and skip the line for the show . Looking forward to our next visit.
We ate here before the show and was very disappointed in the food and service...slow and things forgotten...hoping it was not a normal thing and if back for a show my try it again...always like to give a place a second chance to see if it was an off night...but may think twice on that for the food/value.
The food was good once it arrived, Except my husbands entrée got cold before they brought the BBQ sauce that they had forgotten to the table. The restaurant was not very busy when you got there at 5:00. Two of our three dinner orders was not correct and were lacking items that were listed on the menu. A salad with salmon had to be re ordered, it took so long to come back to the table that others were finished eating and it still was missing cheese and other listed items. Husbands brisket came with no sauce and by the time the sauce was brought to the table the meal was cold. They could not seem to find the right bottle of wine and then left the bottle sitting unopened for about ten minutes at our table. The waitress was kind and apologetic, manager as well....however, if I am going to spend almost $200.00 for a meal, I do want it to be good and correct!! Overall this was an amusing evening as they just could not seem to get it all together.... but, I will not be eating here again. It was not worth the early entrance to the show....
The food and the service were good. I wouldn’t say great, but good. My dad’s burger was a bit dry but my pulled pork sandwich was good. The service was a bit slow considering that when we got there, the restaurant wasn’t very busy. That being said, our server was very nice and friendly.
Check in after reservations was great, considering we were 15 minutes early. Aaron was exceptional. He was friendly, super fast, had a ton of energy and very helpful. There was another guy working as well, he was just the same. Very laid back, friendly environment. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to order or leave once I was done eating. The associates in the gift shop were also really cool. Everyone was very kind and patient. Grade A service I received.
As a party of three ordering just sandwiches, you'd think there would be no issue. The waitress didn't seem rushed or busy and there were some empty tables around us. But low and behold, two meals came out and my dinner was missing. My guests ate nearly half their meal before the waitress came to check and sarcastically said, oh your missing your meal, I wonder what happened? Very disappointing because I asked for a comp dessert for my friends who had totally finished their meal when my arrived. And the waitress never came back except to drop a check. Embarrassing for me.
My wife and I had reservations for dinner before the Ben Folds concert on a Sunday evening.
We live in Youngstown. The experience was well worth the trip.
We shared an app and a meal (the portions were fairly large). I recommend items from the ‘smokehouse’ portion. Very good!
Drinks were handled perfectly by the bar and were very good. I ordered the BoomBoom Mule and was so taken by it, I ordered 2 more before the show, and they came with a complementary copper mug!
Dining experience was great. Laid back, casual environment with great service and Ben Folds was fantastic.
For a fun night out with excellent musical entertainment, HOB Cleveland is the spot!
We had reservations...waited for 20 minutes...the hostess was frazzled. After being seated when we got a server, drinks took forever, we never got the water we asked for....Food was sub par. The server never checked on us, I had to hunt down another server who was helpful at getting our water and drinks....after we tried to eat the food. We ended up hurrying to see the show.
Venue was great for the show...restaurant needs some organization.
Service was slow but it was a busy show night. Drinks are expensive. Spent 15.00 on a “mule”. There is a 20.00 min./ pp food/bev order if you want early entry to the concert venue. If you like being mulled, pushed, and harassed by people on the general admission floor, this is the place for you!!
