Great venue and great food .....and ....great entertainment....GO NOW....ITS GREAT..!!
It's pretty pricey. The drinks are too expensive. Food was good. I like the variety in the menu. But it's all pretty pricey overall. I would recommend it as a "treat" night but not necessarily economical along with a show there.
Great music great service. Had a great time. Highly recommended.
Corporate and unatmospheric
Bungled online booking blamed on ‘computer glitch’
Uncomfortable seating with overacting air-con
Expensive cocktails and beers
Over-spicy jambalaya - inedible
Asked to move to an empty table but this was a bit problematic - moved eventually
The band were very accomplished but not to our taste
We wished we gone somewhere more authentic and genuine
Would not return or recommend
Best place ever. Music, food everything was absolutely fine.
Nice place to enjoy good music on an emblematic place
Nice place, food better than expected
Food quality is good and price is value for money. Live performance is 5 stars
Waiter was very inattentive. Food was average. We’re treated as being not welcomed at all.
First timers to the restaurant: As a foodie family, we all ordered different entrees & sampled/shared food. Everything was well seasoned & not over cooked. The attention to quality products & uniques decor was great. Add live music: what a great experience for all of us.
Food and prices and portions excellent as usual. One of the best overall happy hours in Chicago. Got different servers from normal, one bartender much more attentive and engaging than the other, but still good service.
Traveling in Chicago. Food was outstanding.
A good place tu eat & drink in Chicago, if you like blues
Great lunch and happy hour specials, the food is positively delectable and ready quickly, and the service is helpful, funny, and fast. I'm trying to go at least monthly for lunch with friends I love it so much!
Great service! We have enjoyed two salads that were very fresh, crisp and the dressing was just to die for!
Drinks were superb!
The music was great and not too loud to visit over dinner. We had a great date night with awesome bbq and a great overall experience!
Amazing. Food, music atmosphere, house of blues has it all.
Perfect place to enjoy good music and have some food.
The most amazing night ever! I'm a huge music fan and got to get onstage with Smiley and the guys.
Thanks so much!!!
Food here is terrible. Music wasn’t great either but it was a Monday night. Will never go back to eat. It’s better to just sit at the bar and have beer (cocktails are also terrible) if you know who’s playing.
Amazing blues music and good food..no entry fee for us @ 10 pm
We reserved a table 4 days in advance since we were coming from a long way. We thought reserving early would mean we would have a spot near the music. We were seated in the far back and when open spots came up by the stage we politely asked if we could be seated there. The hostess was rude and dismissed our requests. We were very disappointed as it would have been our second time at The House of Blues and it was the main reason we traveled over 3 hours to Chicago. We probably won’t be coming back after the horrible service. I don’t see the point of reserving a seat so early if they are going to give us horrible seats. We probably would have gotten a better spot if we just came in without reservation.
Good ambiance, good food.
Music at the top.
Service could be a little bit more quick.
Even with a reservation I had to ask for a better table. It seems if you don't complain, you end up in the cheap seats. Ended up with a great table but horrible service. The food came before the drinks! Then only half the food came out. Obviously they never got that part of the order. Nice manager bought a round of drinks. Unfortunately bad service did not pick them up till after the meal was done. Catastrophe! The Band was great! But think how you feel when you are trying to hear a band, and wondering what happened to your food and drink? The rest of food eventually made it's way out but was obviously hurriedly prepared and inadequate. Good news was the management of establishment comp'd the second meal and bought the drinks. When the food was out of the way, we really enjoyed the music! Ole adage, "In a place like this, order the burger and a beer"
Somewhat too close to a tourist trap with mediocre music and absent minded staff. Sunday after a big Saturday might be the reason?
We really enjoyed the food that was offered and served at the HOB. It was excellent in taste and presentation. Also enjoyed the evening’s entertainment.
Atmosphere, music and food was fabulous! Service was lacking. Server had to constantly apologize for lack of attention to needs. Had to ask 5 times for water. Heard table next to us not happy with service too.
Good food and great service. Andy Grammer happened to be playing that night and our waitress Mia went out of her way to get us tickets. Fun!!
First time visitor but definitely not our last. The food and beverages were spot on, our server was top notch. All four of us had a great time.
The kitchen was so slow. It took them 45 minutes to get two salads to our table
Absolutely great. We had a table right in front of a full stacked Blues band and it was absolutely amazing.
Didn’t go anywhere for three hours straight, just enjoying the food and the music.
Brilliant place, love it!
Atmosphere was brilliant, bands playing were amazing, food good and portions huge. Very good night, would go again.
I enjoyed listening to live music while eating a good burger. The Lucy wasn’t spicy. I had two bites that I tasted jalapeños. I would go back.
We went before a concert on a Saturday night. Our waitress was nice, and let us know about the 25% discount since we were going to the show that night. The food was pretty good and it was nice to have live music. Would definitely go to eat before a concert again!
Livedhere my whole life and sorry I did not find this place sooner! Great food and atmosphere. Also friendly staff and great service. Will be back!
A friend and I tried to go to Macy's for their National Cheeseburger Day special, only to find iut somehow it had been cancelled last minute for a private event. When trying to address the issue with staff, they were quite lost and confused. Annoying. So we chose to go up the street to House of Blues and oh BOY were my socks knocked off! Ruben was a fast, attentive, friendly server. They had lunch specials and happy hour specials and, yes, a National Cheeseburger Day special! The food was SO good and came out fast and perfect. The place has things that catch your attention from the rooty to the tooty! DEFINITELY going back!
Lindsey Alexander was awesome
Great entertainment and service excellent . Really good choice of menu and recommendations from staff really helpful
Music was great, service was prompt. Food took a while to come out, and then when it did, it was pretty terrible. Roasted veggies had nothing on them, not even salt. Bourbon butter for the dry corn bread was just butter with too much confectioners sugar mixed in. The steak salad was tasteless and the steak, hard to chew. Drinks were sub-par. At least when I asked the server for plain butter, she was able to find some after not thinking she could, and she also willingly accommodated a customized drink order. But beyond that, I would not recommend coming here for food. Drinks, a very lukewarm maybe. Music, definitely. Food, absolutely not.
