Service was excellent. Music was excellent. Domestic bottled beer was a bit pricey but excellent service made up for it.
We will be back.
Arrived early for our reservation and they seated us with no problem. Food was ok - nothing to rave about but music and wait staff very good. Great place to sit back and relax but can get loud and lighting is low making it hard to read menus. So if you’re looking for a quiet romantic night out this is not the place - be prepared for small cocktails and being a bit pricey...
We brought some younger musicians with us to enjoy some blues entertainment and food. We requested seating that provided a decent site line well in advance. The restaurant did not miss an opportunity to confirm my Reservation so they knew we were coming. Upon arrival the hostess, who seemed quite disinterested did nothing to try to help us find a decent table. In fact, the table she gave us had the worst sight lines in the entire place. On top of that our waitress was almost nonexistent we had tried to find her on a number of occasions. So all in all what could’ve been a very fun and memorable evening turned out to be a disappointment.
This place was recommended to us by family that had visited Chicago before. We loved it! Food was delicious, Connie our waitress was awesome to suggest new things to try & the blues band playing was fantastic!
Adam, our server, was amazing. Food was really rich in flavor; four instead or five as it might have been too rich. Overall, great experience.
The House of Blues was a very enjoyable place to take my group from central Nebraska. Good music and the food and service was excellent. I took two different groups there and had a blast both times.
Our server, Haley, was awesome. We came before a concert and were short on time due to traffic coming into the city. We told her we were rushed and Haley sprung right into action. She took our order right away and brought drinks ASAP. Food was delicious and service was quick, attentive, and fantastic. We were able to flash our dining receipt to avoid the cold, rainy concert line outside and head straight upstairs to the venue. BRILLIANT! My brisket tacos were YUMMY. My husband and boys had burgers that they loved. The Juicy Lucy had ground bacon inside that my husband said was unique and delicious. My boys had BBQ bacon burgers--the bacon was THICK and plentiful and fries were really good. Teenage boy heaven. Salads looked great too. Everyone was happy! I'll definitely dine here every time we go to a concert at House of Blues. I'd also bring out of town guests here for the live music in the restaurant.
House of Blues was great! My boyfriend & I went on a date here and really enjoyed it. They placed us right by the stage with live music which was great (loud, but still enjoyable!). I'd definitely come back.
We sat up off to the side, we could hear the music and still have a conversation. Service was fantastic, food as well.
Food was good but on our only free evening in Chicago, we chose House of Blues for the live music and the band didn't show. Total disappointment.
Waiter was super friendly and gave us recommendations for other things to do while we were in town. They were very busy so I definitely suggest making a reservation. Food and drink service was a bit slow which I assume was due to all tables being packed but didn't mind the wait since the live music was really good. The first beer I ordered was no longer available so had to make a second choice...which was still very good...but since my first choice was not available the manager discounted our food by 15%!!! Food, music and staff were wonderful will go back for sure next time we are in town!!!
Food was good. Drinks were good. Music was good. But it took a very long time to get our server to come to the table or drinks. The place wasn't especially busy at 6:30 and we must have waited 20 minutes or more for a server to come take our drink order and another 10 minutes before they were ready.
Had Shrimp po boy. Great flavor, good sauce with it. Service was great! Over all staff was very helpful and made sure all of our needs were met.
The service was soooooo slow. It took 30 mins. before a waiter even came to our table and another 45 before we ever got food. There were 3 other tables besides ours in the whole place. If you are going for a show make sure to make reservations at least an hour and a half earlier than you would normally. Awful. One upside, the food, when it FINALLY got to us, was really good.
We arrived a bit early so we waited at the bar. The hostess came and got us at our reservation time. Our server was fantastic going above and beyond to make sure we
Had a great experience. Linsey Alexander was playing and he was great- very energetic and liked to wander the tables as he played. Great music and engaging with the diners. Our group had a wonderful time!!!
Great service and music. The kids enjoyed the musician and menu options. The adults enjoyed the food, beer and entertainment. It was great for the whole family.
Family vacation with the kids and they loved this place. They had fun taking pictures and looking at the gift shop.
The food kept them quite while they sat eating in silence and watching the live music. We have no complaints!!
My gf and I try to spend a night in the city once a month or so and stay in a different neighborhood. So we don’t always know the area well, our server was amazing and suggested so much for us. The food was great, the drinks were good and the music was phenomenal
I eat at House of Blues several times each month after driving in from the suburbs. The service is always friendly and helpful. I enjoy the food and never feel rushed.
I plan to continue making this my "go to" restaurant for casual meals!
Quite authentic southern food with live music. Good place to spend the night. Would recommend.
I have always loved going for concerts & dinner with hubby & love band. This time I took the kids during spring break. it was great. They got to see the culture, pose with the blues brother & live singer. ***there always a problem with our reservation, but it worked out great, the staff was great and accommodating.
The food was marginal, the service was good, but Keithen Banks, the entertainment was great.
Good food, a bit pricey and typical but overall a great experience!!
Visiting Chicago, we Made a reservation a day in advance for 9:30. Arrive early to find a lot of people waiting for a private party to end. The band couldn’t even get in. Waited patiently for over 30 minutes and finally left as it looked like we weren’t getting in.
Great waiter food ok
First time at the House of Blues and we had such a good time. The food was awesome and we loved the music!! Great time!! We will be back!!
Our food was delicious. The steak salad was wonderful!
We enjoyed good food and really liked the live music.
We went to see the Danielle Nicole band on the smaller stage in the restaurant and had a great evening. The pros were it was a nice intimate place to see an band play, we had great service and the food was really good.
The couple negatives were when I made the reservation I noted we were there to see a band and please seat us with a view of the stage but they must not pay attention and tried to seat us off to the side with one of us with our back to the stage. I suggested a table in the middle and she did seat us there and was perfect. The other was the website as not being familiar with the smaller stage made it difficult to understand if I was buying tickets or just booking a reservation in the restaurant. On the performers website it listed the HOB Backporch Stage but could not find that anywhere on the HOB website. I finally did a bunch of Google searches to confirm this.
I met some friends here for dinner and a show. There was no cover because we got in before 9pm. I am not sure if that is for every show though. Service was slow. He was nice enough but may have been spread too thin. Good food and a good venue for live music.
Went early. No wait. Guy King blues guitarist was playing some great tunes while we ate really good food.
The jalepeno cornbread was absolutely amazing. That was done just right. The music was fantastic! I really enjoy each House of Blues we visit.
I enjoy House of Blues because your staff is helpful and warm. The food is good and I can always depend on enjoying my time with you.
We got to hear a great blues, Mississippi Heat, and enjoy good food, with a friendly & helpful server.
The food was pretty good but a bit on the high side. The drinks were high prices for an 8 oz glass. We had a 7 on reservation and had to wait 30 to be seated.
Enjoyed every moment the celebration for st Patrick’s Day was real at the House of Blues !!! Loved the staff very attentive and great personalities !!!!
Was St Patty's Day. Great live entertainment & opportunity for people watching! Service was great even though they were very busy. Waiter recommended a great locally brewed beer.
Entertainment was fantastic. The band New Element entertained the crowd during our meal. We would have stayed longer to watch the band, however the restaurant was so cold we couldn't stay. The food was mediocre. Service was pretty good. I would definitely come back to see this band but not to dine.
Went for a friends birthday! Drinks were awesome. Food came so fast. Blues band that night was awesome. We decided to stay and listen to them vs. Going to another downtown bar! Free dessert for birthday girl was so good!
Great experience all the way around!!! Will return soon!
