The ambience is amazing. The food is great. I tried a chicken and rice plate named Jambalaya. Very, very spicy.
When we got there, a manager took a picture of us!
Everything was almost perfect, music, food, the place it self, the reservation was there, etc. but if I had to point out something negative would be the fact that I had no chance, at all, to select the location of our table.. correct me if I'm wrong or I don't know how to use this tool but I would have enjoyed the show a lot better If I could have picked another table, in appearence available, that night. But, anyway, thanks for an enjoyable evening for me and my guest friends, as I was responsible for the coordination and suggested tbe place for them...
Food was excellent and Mississippi Gabe was outstanding.
I sincerely would have recommended this restaurant and given every category 5 stars, however, the disgusting issue with my food just wouldn’t let me. My serve was phenomenal. The manager was great as well even before the food issue. I wouldn’t recommend this place for food. Perhaps just for drinks.
Santana was an energetic and enjoyable waiter. The food was awesome and it was my birthday and I had the best bread pudding drowned in caramel. Glad we walked out of our way for the lunch!
Amazing food and service
Appetizer came right away and was perfect to snack on with our drinks. Food and love music were really good. Caught a concert in the music hall. Overall a great night.
The noise level was completely appropriate for a live music venue!
Had issues with one of our food orders, the server was apologetic, the issue was corrected, the manager apologized - just what you’d expect
This was my first time
Yet won’t be the last
I loved the band , the good and the place
The food was good and the music even better. Our server was friendly and had good recommendations.
Even with our reservation, we had to wait a little while for our table, and even then it was in a side section with an obstructed view; however, the bartender was our server and he was great! Since it was a slow Sunday night, we did move to the main section after dinner for a better view.
Some of the worst food I’ve had in a long time.
The experience and food was overall fantastic. I had to add shrimp to my gumbo, but overall everything was great! I’ll definitely have to come back for some more of that bread pudding 👌🏾
Spectacular venue !!! All very kind !! Feel the scent of the blues !! Great food. Average Chicago prices !!!! Try it and come back !!!!
Everything was awesome good food good music good drinks. What more can a man want!
The atmosphere of HOB was great, and the food was too. The live music was nice but not too loud!
The food was surprisingly good. The music was great, just what you'd expect from a blues place.
Voodoo shrimp absolutely amazing. We showed up a few minutes before our reservation however were seated immediately. Service was perfect. Atmosphere perfect.
Great music, reduced but good late night menu. Great waiter.
Try the Buffalo wings!!! Gorgeous!!!
The servers are very nice and the food was delicious.
I enjoyed my visit. I had the Cajan Pasta which was different but good. The staff was very pleasant. Loved the live musician. Cant wait to go back.
I can only say that the shrimp tacos were way too salty while the gumbo was good, but a bit bland. The bbq chicken salad seemed a bit over-complicated so that the flavors were lost and every bite seemed to be different. Overall, it’s more about the music and the drinks which is just fine.
The voodoo shrimp appetizer is nothing short of amazing. The only reason I gave the food 4 stars is because my dish, the jambalaya and my boyfriends dish, the cajun pasta were so spicy that after the first 6-8 delicious bites you no longer tasted the food just heat. We both love spicy food and it was definitely over the top.
Great food - Great music - Great atmosphere. We had a blast and we will definitely go back.
Très belle ambiance. Nous sommes déjà allés à la Nouvelle-Orléans... tout aussi agréable !
Very busy (not a bad thing!) but the service was a bit slower than expected. We were dining before the show and worried most of the time about making the show's first band. In retrospect, I would have given dinner longer than the 90 minutes we gave it.
This was my first time there. Waitress was slow. Drinks we ordered were even slower.
Food was not good. The steak salad had no taste. The meat and vegetables had no seasoning at all. The BBQ chicken flat bread had a pasty taste to it. The vegan burger bun fell apart from dryness . Overpriced for crap food. Next time I go see a show, I’ll be sure to eat elsewhere
Fantastico... Ambiente blues originale. consiglio vivamente
It was alright. Paid for the experience more so than food and service.
Service was stellar, go with recommendations if you aren’t sure what to order, everything we had upon recommendation was excellent!
Great food- loved the voodoo shrimp. Service was outstanding, we had a great time!
Tried the Cajun pasta. It was delicious! Food, service and entertainment was great!
First time coming to the HOB. Once I got adjusted to the noise level it was extremely nice.
First time Chicago and wanted to see some jazz while enjoying a dinner. Wasn’t disappointed at all with this place.
Fun place for out of towner or if you are going to an event upstairs or dropping off children to go to an all ages event upstairs. Well worth it for the kids to get food and water and use the restaurant bathrooms and then head up to the venue and use the receipt to pass the line which was around the building and outside in the rain on the bridge across the river on the night we were there. We could stay and finish our meal, enjoy a drink and listen to the good live music in the restaurant. The flat breads were great and fast and the voodoo shrimp appetizers were great. The Shrimp Po Boy was cold and soggy and more breading than shrimp. The brisket was odd, cold cubes of fatty beef on a bun not slices that I expected that would have stayed on the bun as i ate it whereas the cubes fell off in every direction. Service was good and got the kids their food first so they could head up to the concert. The decorations from Mr. Imagination still look great and are the best part of the venue.
Great food and very accommodating waitstaff. I was eating dinner while my daughter was at a concert there, and the staff was gracious and hurried at all. Food was great and the blues were amazing
We went for dinner before a concert upstairs. Food was good but the service made it for me. Nick, our server, was great. Security for the concert was friendly and welcoming. Everyone was happy which is hard to find these days. Great experience
