House of Blues Restaurant & Bar - Anaheim Ratings and Reviews
We didn’t receive water or cocktails until 30 minutes after we were seated, and food another 30 minutes after that. Not given any placsettings. Eventually got paper napkins and forks after we asked for placesettings. Everyone else around us received silverware wrapped inside a cloth napkin. Our server was grumpy. Food was ok but not great. I won’t be back.
Great service! Managers Drew & Louis took care of
us when food was taking long to come out without Having to ask them and comped that item and got us our front of the line passes to the concert there. And after dinner i was looking for gum or mints in the gift shop store and since they didn't carry them Louis gave me his own pack of gum. Very friendly staff will recommend to friends and revisit. Thanks Drew & Louis!
We arrived early for our reservations and enjoyed the bar while we waited. The bar staff was wonderful and since it wasn't busy decided to stay and eat at bar. The entertainment was great and we could still converse over him. The hostess was very accommodating when we cancelled our table and opt for the bar. The food was great and prices were wonderful compared to inside Disney. The bartender recommended the "Scooby Snack" as a drink (instead of a shooter) and it was really good!! Next visit to Disneyland will definitely include a trip to eat and drink at HOUSE of BLUES.
Food was awful. Ordered Cajun chicken fettuccine, no seasoning on chicken, sauce was completely bland. Flavorless. Hub ordered half rack of ribs. Waitress came back and we were told they ran out of ribs but the had brisket, pulled pork, or riblets. Hub said no just bring my wife's meal. Management came to us and said don't worry I found a rack back there for you. Okay... ribs come out and we're so small in pretty sure they served us the biggest riblets they could find and passed them off as a rack of ribs. I returned my fettuccine and they told me I couldn't go wrong with their tacos, so I ordered the shrimp ones. They came out on corn tortillas that were barely fried in oil, I was expecting flour tortillas. Over all the food was just horrible. Another manager came back and offered us a dessert. Honestly I would have rather had at least one of our meals taken off. Server was nice, customer service fine but food was just awful.
We dined in at House of Blues for my husband's birthday. It was everything I was hoping for it to be and more! Our waiter Kyle was great. We had our toddler with us and he made sure we had the check early and anything else we might need, so that we weren't held up once she started getting over being there. It was our favorite night out on our vacation!
This was our second trip to House of Blues; our first was after a show, this was just a random drop-in after a day at Disneyland. I wanted some music with dinner, seemed like a decent place the first time we ate here. We ate entirely too much, but I can at least comment on quite a few things. The menu is straightforward - Southern and BBQ predominate. There are the house specialities… heavily pushed by the wait-staff. The shrimp and cornbread app was good, enough that we ordered some more cornbread for the table. W had shrimp and grits… fried grit cake with plenty of shrimp around it; and the Cajun pasta, which was a little one-note. The Moscow Mule was "one of the best" we've had. Live music was a combo of sax and guitar, playing hits. Surprisingly empty for a Friday early evening, I know it fills up after the concert lets out. You're coming here for not for innovative food, but good food and good times. House of Blues delivers on that.
all staff was attentive and got the job done. my experience was 100% from all aspects that was planned for the evening which started at 3pm friday night into the morning hours of saturday 230am. VIP upgrade was worth the purchase, added more memories and adventure. Security on point and being considerate and not like other venues where the security staff act like the secret service and where sunglasses at night(Corey Hart reference) Not at the HOB , down to earth and walk you to the destination if you ask about location of amenities instead of yelling it out and pointing their fingers saying " I think over their". ( felt safe at all times) waitress if you say your working my area and will be taking care of me. I want to see you more than that one time when you told me that. other than that great place to see a concert and sound quality was really good. nice well thought out plan and modern. I will return for sure
We had a group of 6. The food was okay but no one loved their meal. Service was really slow even though the restaurant wasn't full. We are there because of a concert. We thought we got to go to the front of the line if we ate there. It wasn't until after we paid that we told there was a price point to earn the front of the line passes. So 4 of us got in but two had to wait in line for 45 min. We all agreed we would never eat there just for a concert. We would probably eat somewhere else and just get in line early.
All of the food is in house! The breading on chicken and the bread itself. Happy to have been there to see the different and creative food options this place had. Attached to a concert venue it was easy to spend most of the day there and have appetizers and drinks and its like having an awesome tailgate or pre party and dining right before your show! Seriously awesome good with freshness being a priority in the kitchen. Cheers!
My wife and I visited the restaurant prior to a show at the adjoining venue. We enjoyed a couple of appetizers; the voodoo shrimp, and the Memphis fries (I think). Both were excellent and rich in flavor. The voodoo shrimp paired a jalapeno cornbread with a semi sweet flavor which complimented each other very well. The Fries had EVERYTHING on them and were just a flavor explosion, with the fries just being a way of everything else getting into y mouth. We enjoyed fantastic wine and craft beers suggested by our fantastic waiter Justin. He was absolutely excellent in his service and cordial in his approach. If all the servers are equally as professional and friendly as Justin, I wouldn't imagine ever having a poor experience here.
Great food! Good service but kind of slow. Took a while for our server to arrive to our table so by the time he finally got there we had picked out what we wanted. Seemed like our server and the guy he was training were the only ones waiting on tables for the whole restaurant that night
Let me start first by saying how accommodating this restaurant is. I had originally made a reservation for 3 people. A few days later, two other friends said they wanted to get a baby sitter so that they could join us - so I called and was easily able to have my reservation changed to 5. The morning of the reservation, those same friends told me they were not able to get a sitter and that their two small children would be joining if able. I called the HOB, and again, was told there was no issue to adding the two children.
We arrived a few minutes past the reservation time and checked in. I reminded the woman at the desk that we needed 2 high chairs - however, the table that had been set up for us was a high top and would not work with highchairs. The manager came over right away and assured everything would be fine, that they would set up a more accommodating table. After waiting a few extra minutes, we were sat in the most perfect spot - especially with two small kids.
Our server was Nate. He was fantastic! He informed us that it was still Happy Hour, and had some great suggestions on what to order. He also was super attentive, and we never had to wait long or try to locate him/get his attention.
The food was awesome. We ordered the Cajun shrimp from the Happy Hour apps and loved it so much that we got a 2nd one! Everyone really seemed to enjoy their main courses as well, and the drinks were great.
Anytime we are going to a show at the HOB, we definitely will be dining in the restaurant!
The shrimp and fried grits WOW!!!! The gumbo is AWESOME! The only downer for me was microphones levels for the vocals for the group made it hard to clearly hear the singing it was kinda "muddy" The band was GREAT!!! I just wish could have heard the singing a little better. ;)
I'm a drummer and I've run a soundboard before so like to hear the whole band and not just the instruments....
We were excited to try the HOB Anaheim bc we had never been. First, we were starving, and we needed to eat right away. We ordered a side order & a salad for appetizer & drinks. The drinks came, but the "appetizer items" didn't arrive early. Everything came all together-- so that was a bummer. We were waiting a long time. Then it was my husband's birthday. They brought him an ice-cream--but we weren't even halfway through our meal. So by the time we finished, the ice cream was melted & it wasn't good. So that was a miss, too. We ordered the blackened salmon, which tasted great, but it's $23 and doesn't come with any sides. That is just too much, HOB. Seriously? Can't put a bit of rice or mashed potato on the side? I thought it was far too overpriced. Finally, our server was nice, but clueless. Because we were starving & we wanted an appetizer (and the menu isn't veggie friendly), there wasn't much to choose from. We ended up ordering a side of fries. But the server didn't tell us that the other dish we ordered already came with fries. So we ended up having TONS of fries. Had he said something, we would have ordered something different. But the waiter also didn't know the beers on tap, or the types of tequila the bar carried, or if there was kahlua or not... We just felt that he was nice, but 100% clueless about the menu items and the bar. Finally, I had a coupon for $10 off. Our total was $80 or more. So when I got the receipt to sign, they had taken off $9.63--not $10. WHY? We ordered more than enough in food. I didn't understand. The coupon was a $10 off a $25 purchase. So in the end, I was disappointed. The birthday component was completely lost (ice cream DURING dinner?Get a clue!), the service was a luke warm OK, but overall, it was just an all around MISS. I can spend $75 somewhere else and feel like we're getting more food & better service. I liked the atmosphere, but I will not be returning for dinner at the HOB anytime soon. :(
Overall I had a good time only thing I didn’t like is how the restaurant wasn’t cool about my party being 8 minutes late we were told we would have to wait for another table and a party was ahead of us. Eventually we were seated and the rest of the overall experience there was a good one. I understand they don’t hold tables but Yes it wasn’t what I had expected.
