This was my first experience at the House of Blues in Anaheim. I attended a hardhat media invite in February 2017 when it was in the construction faze, so it was a treat to see the venue up in full force.
It was absolutely an all -around music induced atmosphere. There was a singer on his guitar, which was a pleasant accompaniment to my delicious mesquite bacon, Swiss hamburger, minus the crunchy jalapenos. I thought the price was reasonable and comparable to other restaurants.
Some friends ordered salads, which they said, they were not impressed and felt like they just got a pile of lettuce for a good chunk of change.
The service was a little slow, but our waiter was courteous and accurate with our orders.
We met at the HOB for a pre-concert with the Journey Cover Band, DSB, so it was an excellent way to kickoff the very spectacular show they put on.
I love this restaurant. This location is very pleasant with indoor and outdoor dining. The food is cajun/creole and yummy.
Got the brisket tacos... they were terrible. Cheap, store like tortillas. 3 of those for $14?? No thank you. The brisket was crunchy instead of soft. Will never eat dinner there again.
Service was terrible. I had to ask several times to get water refills. Once our order was taken we did not see our waitress again until it was time to pay. Had to get up and go the bar for anything that we needed. Never did get a bag to take our leftovers home in. I certainly won't go back!
So good! An absolute must!
Close to Disneyland, worth 10 minutes walking from Disneyland.
Delicious BBQ and excellent server!
Although we had a reservation, we had to wait an HOUR to be seated. We were seated in a corner where we had NO VIEW of the entertainment then moved to a more desirable table. We were not given any tableware and when we asked for napkins, we were given a handful of paper napkins. Upon 2nd request, we finally received cloth napkins and silverware. We were told by the waiter that we were NOT allowed to bring any leftovers upstairs with us to the FOUNDATION ROOM, which seemed odd.
House of Blues did not disappoint! The food was absolutely AMAZING! The service was top of the line as well. Live entertainment, and smiles all around. I absolutely loved it. Will definitely be back again soon!
Everything and most people were amazing. However security was really rude. This Elvis looking guy was just being rude to people. Didn’t want to give me direction. Didn’t smile. Told me to get out of line when I was just looking for my fiancée when I got out of the bathroom. Besides that food was good. The guy serving my table was an awesome guy. And had a good time at the concert. Definitely will come back just hope that rude guy isn’t working again.
Service was sub par. Waiter couldn’t even remember that I had tea and put water in my glass. LOL. Just one of those places that may be fun to get a beer or drink at but that’s about it. Just my opinion others may think it’s great. Go see for yourself is always my advice.
It was our first time, and we had reservations but arrived about an hour early but were seated at a great table RIGHT AWAY. Had voodoo shrimp and wine and it was spectacular. We loved the " modern twist on southern cuisine" (not your usual southern menu). The food was fantastic. We shared a cobb salad and it was the BEST one we've ever had. We will definitely come back and bring friends. Thank you for a GREAT nite out !
Terrible experience. The supervisor Louis needs better training on how to speak to customers. His attitude and tone is not one that should be desired for your staff, much less for your supervisory staff. Your establishment needs more professionalism. The inexperience was also reflected in the waiter at the bar (sorry I didn’t get his name since we were there only for a few minutes). He answered our questions with a condescending tone. Other staff members however were note worthy of giving good service. Ryan our server displayed hospitality and friendliness. (Ryan with the thin build was our server - the only reason I mention his stature is because we noticed there was more than one Ryan working that evening). Ryan our server is a person the establishment should value and should strongly consider being promoted into a supervisory role. I work in management and my advice to you is this; those who you promote will show what your establishment truly values. This will affect the public’s perception of your establishment tremendously. Appearence and stature is irrelevant. Character, professionalism, and proven ability is what you need to value. Ryan displayed all three. Thank you for this opportunity to leave a review.
Enjoyed dinner before a concert held at there at the HOB. Happy Hour was fun, service was great. Food was inconsistent. Sliders were great, flat bread OK and corn bread only fair - very cheesey. Live bar entertainment was excellent. Sort of a cold industrial style restaurant decor but still comfortable. We had a good time and saw a great concert. Concert venue is excellent though expectedly loud.
Excellent barbeque and lots of fun with the friendly staff and live band karaoke!
Slowest service I've ever had.
We waited a while for a server and again for me to get another drink but we didn’t mind the wait because we were waiting for the concert to start. The manager came over to check on us towards the end of our meal. Which was a nice touch.
The Sangria was tastless I should have had fruit the the drink as it was being made do the fruit jucies could meld with the wine instead it seem like watered down wine with two citrus fruit slices.
The beans we so spicey hot my husband and I could not eat them and we are not shy about hot and spicey
Went for a chill date, the food selection was good, the value was good, the drinks were a little pricy though.
Ordered the brisket and my date ordered the cob salad. Both were pretty good portions.
Overall was a great experience because of the atmosphere and it was Karaoke night (Wednesday).
Waiter was very attentive and fast.
The location is now at the garden walk so don’t go to DT Disney like I did at first.
Will Definitely go again.
The food was amazing. I got the Cajun shrimp tacos and they were just spicy enough. Definitely delish. The only downside was that whoever was performing that night was not very good.
Great place great music great service our waiter was very pleasant the entertainment was great I really would recommend this place to any one
Very nice staff. The food was great. I had the fried chicken (of course), and I scored a side of arugula from picky teenagers.
Our waiter Kyle was 5 star. However, my chicken wings came extremely dry and the thin crust pizza my wife got did not taste good. I guess there were too many ingredients. Not to mention every time we ordered a beer it took atleast 10 minutes for them to bring it. Kyle did apologize and mention there were technical difficulties behind the bar.
been looking forward to the visit. hostess was beyond annoying. She said we couldn't move up reservation. they were booked. place wasn't 1/2 filled up, then when asked to move a table, what an attitude. food was cold. HOB means blues, not some lame karaoke. Over all a major disappointment
Our visit was exceptional. Food and service were great. If you are in Anaheim, this is a place to have a great dining experience.
Pleasant surprise with a mix of great music and good prices for food and drinks. I witnessed one of the craziest funkadelic gigs ever last time I was there...Great!
Had an amazing pre-concert (Extreme) dinner at the 'new and improved' Anaheim HOB. The food was surprisingly good. Before, it was pretty standard for a chain restaurant, but my wife's steak with chimichurri was fantastic and my wedge salad and the gator tots (can't remember the name of the dish) were great too. Mostly, the drinks were truly tasty, flavorful, but still had a boozy punch and the band that was playing in the restaurant was simply fantastic. The best part of the evening was when the Manager, Tom, came by to chat and told us about the 'pass the line' tickets for our show that night. He was incredibly friendly, personable and charming. He got us our tickets and we certainly put them to good use. My wife and I had an amazing date night. Thanks for making it happen HOB. Cheers! :)
Happy Hour is 3-6pm daily, and we didn't even know it. When we got the bill, we were pleasantly surprised to see the beer was same price as soda... $3! Wow!
Found out that if you buy $30 worth of food/merch per person, you can get Front of the Line passes for the show. We were there to see Extreme and the tickets were GA. The FOTL pass certainly worked out and we got a great spot near the stage. However, after 4 hours of standing, next time I am gonna splurge for reserved seats.
Food is good, and plentiful. You can easily share the meals, especially the sandwiches. Some say pricey but $14 for the jumbo sandwich and $19 for 1/2 a fried chicken wasn't bad.
Ryan was our server and he was good. I'd recommend this place
I knew the place would be busy, but it was unbelievably packed because NAMM was going on. Everyone was having a great time and no one was leaving their tables. The host apologized and said we would get the first table available, but it could be a while. It took less than 15 minutes, and I was impressed. We were all very hungry and I was so thankful I made a reservation.
Our server was nice. We wanted to order the fried chicken dinner for four and she warned us that it would take a minimum of 25 minutes to cook. We were all hungry and tired so we got the smoked meat platter. It was so good!!
The place was noisy and packed to gills, but we still had pretty good service. I was very pleasantly surprised. I will go back.
The atmosphere was relaxed and energetic at the same time. The entertainment was very good. The food was good and at a good value. Our server was excellent.
It was alright, could have been better, possibly an off day.
Beautiful venue, great food, cocktails and a great band!
server was very nice. the ambiance of the place is great, live band, and awesome food. the bar area is very chic, I would definitely recommend and will go back!
As first time customers of the House of Blues, my girlfriend and I were extremely impressed with the food, staff, and ambiance of the restaurant. The food, from the appetizer down to the dessert, arrived promptly and tasted amazing. I made sure to tell my family what they were missing and we will absolutely come back in the future!
Everything was amazing! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive, the drinks are very yummy as well, it’s so much bigger than the one that was in downtown Disney. We will definitely be coming back
Our server was great and the hostess that seated us, the restaurant itself is fun, but the meal I ordered didn't meet my expectations or felt as though I got what I paid for. I ordered the half rack of ribs. The ribs while tender we're so heavily peppered I could barely eat them, my cornbread was cold out of the refrigerator. Our server quickly agreed the cornbread wasn't supposed to be that temp and gave us a new piping hot piece. My daughter ordered fruit with her kids meal and got fries, and husband ordered grilled shrimp on his pasta and got Cajun instead . At this point we were hungry and tired and didn't say anything else . I also ordered a dirty Martini and it tasted like it didn't have any vodka, but instead tasted like watery olive juice. I would come back but would be more careful about what I ordered. We have visited House of Blues many times and were disappointed.
Great time. good food. Good music. Great for family and friend
Great location with music during dinner. Had some food challenges but they more than made up for it. Excellent service. Salads are the best!
We had some issues and showed up 40 minutes late...they still honored our reservation and were very pleasant about the whole situation. We were able to eat, enjoy live music, and head to our concert. Great night!
I went to the House of Blues to see my son, a musician, perform. It was my first time at this location and I found the seating perfect as I was alone. There are a couple of bar/counters facing the stage. The food was unexpectedly GOOD! I had pulled pork and was provided 3 types of sauces to put on it. I loved this idea because i don't like pulled pork with a ton of sweet bbq sauce. The sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked as well.
Don't miss this restaurant! There is also plenty of parking in the Garden Walk structure.
We didn’t receive water or cocktails until 30 minutes after we were seated, and food another 30 minutes after that. Not given any placsettings. Eventually got paper napkins and forks after we asked for placesettings. Everyone else around us received silverware wrapped inside a cloth napkin. Our server was grumpy. Food was ok but not great. I won’t be back.
