Houlihan's - Mt Lebanon
Service was excellent. I seem to always get the same server and I wish I could remember his name because he’s great. One of the desserts we ordered was sold out and they gave us our choice of any dessert and they took it off the bill which was very generous. The food was delicious as always. I gave the ambiance a “fair” rating because even with reservations we were seated at tables rather than one of the nice booth banquettes. Also the wooden tables need to be replaced. The finish is so worn off that they feel sticky and tacky. Not pleasant. They feel dirty even if they’re not.
Excellent service and delicious food. I highly recommend.
My friends and I always enjoy going to Houlihan's. The specials bring us in...this time salmon on spaghetti squash. Yummy!!! One of us personally know the waitress. She was very friendly and helpful toward us. We will be back. Also we enjoyed seeing a baby at another table who was very cute and well behaved. All sizes of family members are welcome at Houlihan's !
We made the reservation on the computer at home. We were seated immediateIy upon arrival, received great service and the food was exceIIent. My wife and I thoroughIy enjoyed our visit. And thank you very much for my veteran's meaI at no charge, athough our tip for exceIIent service was for both meaIs. Thank you very much.
Great food and atmosphere. Nice place to have a conversation with family
Everything was good. The only comment would be that our server wasn't as attentive as she could have been
The food and service were excellent.
The server was scattered never asked us if we wanted refiills, dessert brought our check over while we where still eating. I come to Holihans 2x month and last few times have been disappointed with food, service or both. Im septical to tell people to go here because of my last few experiences.
The worst service I have ever had at this restaurant- it took over an hour to get our order. Everyone around us, who came in after us, were eating and finished.
When we asked about our order the waitress said I don’t know what happened to “your ticket “. She never told a manager and never attempted service recovery.
We frequent this location often, it is always spot on. On this occasion, the food was delicious as usual. The only reason for the 4 stars, is the service was mediocre on this particular evening, and we were served wine different from what we ordered without asking us first. Other than rhat, it is always enjoyable to visit this location.
Our server Christine was not very friendly. Her service was poor. She barely communicated with us or visited our table during soup/salad and dinner courses. We had to ask the manager to provide us silverware and napkins.
The food was ok, but nothing to rave about.
Food good but so slow
Very consistent food.
Scallops are very small and do not warrant the price. Compared to price for ingredients in Jambalaya containing shrimp, Chorizo, and chicken, it is not logical.
Everything was great! The staff was outstanding. Always a pleasure to dine there.
Great experience. Good food, good service and a good price.
Nicely prepared American food and very good service. Live Blues music Sunday night (with no cover) was an unexpected bonus. Had we known, we would have got a table closer to bar where music was at. But we could still hear it in the background on the mall end of the restaurant.
Super service, tasty/creative food, okay drinks.
Good for a sandwich. We had a very slow server which made experience unpleasant. The southwest chicken wrap was not very fresh. They need to learn how to do a wrap so it doesn’t fall apart.
Love Houlihan's. Always get a great meal. The staff are friendly and fast.
Great meal and great service! The manager is wonderful!
Happy hour prices and options are great. Could use a better beer list. Overall a very good experience. Service was very good and a team brought out food so everybody got theirs at the same time. That was a nice touch.
Stuffed chicken breast was delicious but would have been just as good without cheese stuffing.
Hi GoodEater, Thank you for the Five Star Rating! Tony M
Celebrated Mother's Day plus a 78th birthday. We were seated immediately and our hostess was right there to take our drink order and answer any questions about the menu. She would check back regularly to see how we were and made the birthday boy happy with her special attention to him. Plus a lady took our photograph and placed it on a key chain. Was a nice day there.
We enjoyed our meal. Soup and salad appetizers took awhile to arrive but were both delicious as always. Fixed price 3 course menu is my favorite and a great value.
Thank you for the Five Star Rating!
Seated quickly, wait staff very attentive and seemingly clairvoyant , food was great
Hi KenS, thank you for the Four Star Rating!
Our dining experience was wonderful especially with the generous coupons we took advantage of which were certainly a worthy incentive. Our server Angelina was exceptional and the ambiance pleasant. The only minor complaint was the fairly loud noise level when we were first seated which was obviously due to the high volume of business at that hour, but it eventually subsided. It was generally an enjoyable evening. Thanks much!
Hi Laurie, thank you for the Five Star Rating!
Good food, good price and good service. Would go there again.
The hostess and especially the blonde manager were incredibly rude. They said they didn’t have my reservation and said it didn’t go through on open table. I had made my reservation 3 days in advance. I showed them my confirmation and they gave us a table but the treatment prior was unacceptable. Especially from a manager she shouldn’t even be out on the floor.
Amber was our server and she was terrific as usual. The fish and chips was absolutely wonderful. Battered and fried to absolute perfection. We both had Arnold Palmer’s which were very good.
Another excellent dining experience!
There did be some confusion with Open Table and my reservation.....I arrived 5 minutes before my reservation time and was promptly seated. For some reason, I received an email from Open Table saying I was a “no show”. Not sure where the break down occurred. I emailed Open Table to let them know that I did show for my reservation and they followed up with Houlihan’s. All seemed to work out.
Usually great. Service was exceptional - server was great with keeping water filled and very attentive.
Food wasn't as good as usual. Ahi Tuna seemed like quality was bad and had different seasoning which wasn't good. Salmon was a very small piece and dried out and veggies with salmon weren't great (green beans and asparagus). I would recommend cutting pointy ends off of green beans. Also, could you offer a different veggie besides green beans? Maybe zucchini, squash or broccoli? Asparagus was ok, but portion was small. We eat here often and were just a little disappointed with the food this time.
Food, staff and service were great.
Hi RLMC, thank you for the Five Star rating! Tony M
My wife and I came here for Valentine's day, in remembrance of eating at Houlihans' before our wedding almost 20 years ago. We booked on open table and immediately got in, so no waiting - although it was not busy at all. The waitress must have been having a bad day. I could tell because we were seated right next to the serving station - despite there being plenty of room in the restaurant otherwise. It took forever to get us our appetizers and drinks and we had to ask for silverware and napkins AFTER the appetizers came out. We got the $50 valentine's day deal with all the standards included. I asked if I could have Creme Brulee for dinner, and she told me she'd have to charge me extra. I said sure, that's ok. I really wanted Creme Brulee.
I ordered the steak and scallops for an extra $5 as well. My wife ordered suffed chicken. My food was cold when it came out. And the scallops were slimy and rawish tasting - without any flavor whatsoever. I made scallops the night before that were 100x better. I normally don't turn away food. But I couldn't eat these. Not even with my iron stomach.
Took forever to get the check. I asked for our dessert to go. We didn't want to stay any longer for this horrible experience. Check looked like it all panned out. Got home. NO CREME BRULEE! I was charged an extra $5 for the standard dessert that I didn't want.
I don't write reviews normally. I had to today. This was probably the worst dining experience in 10 years. We won't be coming back.
Thanks for the feedback. We are always looking to get better and I will reach out to apologize for the disappointing visit. Tony M. General Manager
Delicious food and wonderful service. The menu is wonderfully varied and nicely presented.
Went to dinner with my boyfriend and 2 friends. We had a great appetizer, drinks, and meal. Service was great. Looking forward to going back.
Hi Bethany, Thank you for the Five Star rating! Tony M
Prices seemed $2/entree higher than two months ago. Also, okay on the prices if the portion sizes were not so small. Really small for dinner portions. Other than the burger and fries, our two Thai and steak bowls left us Hungry if it were not for the complimentary bread rolls!!!
We both had the chicken special and loved it! The restaurant was busier (probably more than they expected), so our waitress was stretched a little thin. We didn’t see much of her & had a little delay getting our check. My companion and I both thought our meal was a good value! There was live music in the bar, so the music was probably a little louder further back in the restaurant.
Thanks for the information & the Four Star rating! Tony M
We come here often. I had the salmon and it was very good. The Apple pie was amazing.
