Houlihan's - Leawood
The BEST chicken Parm I’ve ever had sidnaihdbejshfbejsuf
Got sat at a small table, steak was more rare than med rare and took an exceptionally long time to get food.
The food was outstanding! We went for Valentine’s Day and enjoyed spinach dip, Caesar salad, stuffed chicken breast and the brownie cake for dessert. The stuffed chicken and mashed potatoes were amazing. Highly recommend! We’ll definitely be coming back.
Delicious food and great service!
Houli’s is always good
Appetizers and salads came at the same time. Server messed up drink order and forgot to bring dessert we ordered. Finally asked for dessert to go and they then brought dessert on a plate. Server was irritating when we again asked for it to go. Overall pretty bad won’t be back.
It was Valentines Day so we used Opentable to make a reservation. Good thing we did! It was packed! We went for the comfort food: pot roast and stuffed chicken! It was all good! Our waitress was knowledgeable & fun. One thing- I wish that that Houlihans didn’t advertise their happy hour specials in the dining room areas- they don’t honor the happy hour specials in there like other places do. Otherwise everything was great!
Celebrated my birthday with my friends and you did NOT disappoint! Thank you, and special thanks to Victor for always providing high quality service!
Our server Lexxi A was excellent!!! Very Very good!!! We appreciated her assistance in helping us decide
what to order, she kept the coffee hot, & she checked on us- if our food was exactly what we wanted. Very nice young lady!!!
Interesting menu items that you won’t see at everywhere. But menu is still very accessible to the average person.
Good place. We always ask ourselves why we don’t eat here more..... Not sure why we don’t. Will move up our list though.
The food took way too long to come out (sitting in the window for 20 minutes), when it did it was cold, the only saving grace you guys had was your waitress who was very helpful and kind.
6 OF US DINED THERE - WHILE THE FOOD WAS GOOD, IT WAS INEXPERTLY PLATED IN THE RIGHT TIMES SO FOR SOME OF US MOST OF IT WAS COLD AND WE SENT SOME BACK TO THE KITCHEN FOR HEATING. OUR SERVER WAS EXCELLENT AND THE ONLY PROBLEMS WE HAD WERE THE FAULT OF A MISMANAGED KITCHEN. WE DID ASK FOR A MANGER AND HE WAS VERY NICE ABOUT GIVING US CREDIT FOR OUR MEALS. WE DID FIND THAT THE NOISE LEVEL WAS HORRIFIC AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO HAVE A CONVERSATION.
Have always loved Houlihans in Leawood. Great food and service. Highly recommend them.
Perfect as always......decided again on the avocado toast and hubby had the sliders combo. We’re never disappointed. Oh, of course I had the daytime happy hour sangria.
I was pleased with both the service and the food. It was a busy night, but the service at my table was working very efficiently. I would recommend this restaurant.
I love Houlihan's, so I'm just going to chalk this up to a bad night. My friends and I met there for dinner on a Friday night after work. We were told we could only get Happy Hour drink prices by sitting at the bar, which was overcrowded and very noisy. My friends went to the bar and ordered drinks and brought them back to the table. When our server asked them where they got the drinks and they told him, he was clearly not happy.
We ordered the kids popcorn shrimp and sweet potato fries for my friend's daughter. When it came out, it only had 5 shrimp, regular fries, and without the ranch dressing it states it comes with on the menu. When we alerted the runner, she assured us she'd take care of it right away. She immediately brought the ranch but no sweet potato fries.
A few minutes went by and our server came to check on us. When we asked about the sweet potato fries and he said it would be 10 minutes and they would be ready. They did comp us the child's meal, but we waited nearly 30 additional minutes and never received the sweet potato fries. Totally unacceptable as my friend ended up giving her daughter part of her meal because she was still hungry. Her daughter is only 3, so she doesn't have a huge appetite.
Server was excellent!
Great service, as always! Little disappointed in the quantity of food I received, but I'll know not to order that next time!
Houlihan's has consistently good food and the service is great, too. They don't mind dietary restrictions at all and work around them with aplomb and good humor. Houlihan's is one of the restaurants we eat at most often for these reasons. The food is great, the service is great, and the prices are very reasonable. Great atmosphere, too.
As always, seated right away, great service and great food!
The bar drinks took about 10 minutes to come out. The server and the person who brought the appetizers out seemed unhappy to be there and acted like we were bothering them when we asked more more ranch.
The waitress was fantastic! She was Asian. On
Top of everything!!
Went here during restaurant week 1/19/2019. First let me start by saying we had reservations for a late lunch and upon arrival I should have known the experience was going to be bad. We arrived a bout 3-5 min prior to the time and the hostess told us it would be a 5-10 min. wait. Keep in mind I said we were there for late lunch, the place was almost empty. We were finally seated and approached by our waitress. She took our drink order and returned and took our meal order. After a few seconds I realized she didn't ask if we were having soup or salad, again we were there for restaurant week and had ordered from that menu. I approached her and let her know. Her response was "you didn't tell me you were ordering from that menu." instead of I apologize, what would you have. The meal came and I quickly realized that my cod tacos were over cooked and my husbands fish and chips were greasy, over battered and what appeared to me, old cod fish. I had visited the 95th street location just 2 days before and had what my husband ordered and the two meals were completely different. I asked for manager and he came and pretended he didn't notice the over cooked tacos and that the fish and chips was identical to what I had 2 days prior. They were not and showed him the picture of the food I had taken at the 95th street location. We left without reordering and will never go to this location again. Horrible location and staff.
Houlihans is usually really good but the panko shrimp was very greasy and tasted of old grease. Our waiter Tim did an excellent job.
It’s just a great reliable neighborhood restaurant...love the shrooms, the avocado toast, the onion soup....pretty much everything and the daytime happy hour for cheap sangrias😊
A birthday dinner and it just wasn’t good. Service was very slow. Ordered restaurant week and appetizers were best item we received. The main course looked sloppy, asparagus was tiny and way over cooked and only received 3-4 pieces each. My father in law ordered double veggies and only had 3-4. Salmon was over cooked and we all had a double helping of cold mashed potatoes. We had to take desserts to go as the first two courses took almost two hours to arrive. Not a good night.
The poor service was addressed by the manager by discounting the meal. It’s unfortunate when circumstances of a short staffed kitchen isn’t addressed by communicating with guests immediately. A better server and manager should have been on top this problem. As this is the second time poor service has accrued at this location I won’t be returning to this location.
Great food and great service. The scallops are amazing and the impossible burger is really excellent.
food was delicious and our waiter was attentive even though it was very busy.
Great food! Love this place!Great food! Love this place!
I had a reservation for 7:45 and we were not seated until at least 8:15 or so. This was probably due to the New Year's crowd that were there. It took about 30 minutes to get the food which was disappointing. Hopefully, this is not become the norm. Food was excellent when we did finally get it. Service was sporadic. Our waitress didn't really check on us again until we finally received the food. It would've been nice to get an update on when our food was going to get there and why they were behind. If we were in a hurry, I would not have recommended going there again if time was an issue.
We made 7:00 reservations and we were late due to the movie (in the same shopping area) going 15 minutes longer than we anticipated. We still had to wait about 40 minutes for a table. There were lots of empty tables, but when we asked we were told they were being held for a party of 20. We sat in the bar to wait and it was a good 7-10 minutes before we were waited on. Keep in mind the restaurant was moderately busy, even tho it was New Year's Eve. When our table was ready, we indicated we needed to pay for our drinks and another 5 minutes or so went by before we got our check. At the table, we were greeted by a very pleasant waitress, however, it was a long wait (about 20 minutes) for our food. When it arrived it was tepid, not hot. I think we had been forgotten. Again, not extremely busy. When asked how our desert was, we said the cake was stale. The waitress apologized, but did nothing to make up for it.
We went for New Years Eve dinner and there was a nice selection on the New Year's Eve menu. Good portion sizes and the price was a great deal for an appetizer, entree with sides and dessert! I actually went back 2 days later to take advantage of the great lunch deal...spend $10 on food and get wine for $2...best deal in town!
Go to McDonald's
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Was there on New Year's Eve, which is not a good night to evaluate a restaurant, but the food and service were terrific. Always a good value for your dollar.
I realize we went on New Year's Eve, but when a restaurant advertises a special holiday menu, I expect that the meal will be at least on par for their typical quality or maybe even better. In this case, the panko shrimp were greasy and overly breaded. The meatloaf was incinerated. The asparagus was limp as a noodle, and yet still so tough, it could only be cut by a knife. There is no way I could embarrass myself to my friends by recommending this restaurant.
Great food, great ambiance, great location! Server was good guy BUT for second consecutive visit the staff can’t close out a ticket at this place. Kitchen appeared to be failing waiter but he chose to simply ignore at least three tables. Manager tried to help but it made no difference as it was a complete cluster. We asked to get our desserts to go and it took 30 minutes for the manager to bring out the desserts on regular plates and then we had to remind him again that we wanted them to go (because we had been there for almost 2 hours). The manager cut down our bill but that wasn’t the issue, we were just tired of waiting. Nice people but not sure it’s worth the trouble.
It was my birthday and it was so much fun! Lexxy our server was outstanding and the manager Evan even came by to wish me a happy birthday. I may spend every birthday at Houlihan’s!!!
Very good! They have a great happy hour menu and food was very good
