Great place to eat. The manager and staff are the best. Never had a bad meal there.
Service was extremely slow and the margarita I ordered tasked different with each new refill.
Very nice meal with great service. Thank you!
It was very busy but is was dinner time on a Sunday. We were there to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary but that never came up. The pink elephant tasted like alka seltzer. The dessert was dry and disappointing. A fruit fly flew out from between our lettuce wraps. I didn’t tell my husband or we would have left and I was looking forward to that dessert. Probably won’t go back. Also they didn’t make the tomato soup anymore which is why I went there in the first place.Meh. Some people work workout tights and t-shirt and others were wearing jeans and collared shirts. I wasn’t sure the one in leggings worked there until she took our plates. Not sure what was going on.
We love Houlihan's! It is not your typical chain restaurant. Many menu items are unusual and not found in other Denton-area restaurants. You'd normally have to go to Dallas or Frisco to find similar offerings. Tables are well spread out, and the atmosphere is cheerful but not loud. The restaurant is attached to the Embassy Suites, so that makes it really convenient for those who might be traveling. All in all, a first-class restaurant with excellent service and ambience.
Servers were all wearing face coverings, and masks are required of customers until they're seated at their table.
While the shortened menu was a drawback, we managed to find items that we wanted. Service was very good and they were doing a good job of social distancing.
The customer service was excellent. The food was so good. They celebrated our 4 year old's birthday. She even told us about a grill drawing we had no idea about. Just such a good experience.
Food at Houlihans is always so yummy. The queso is amazing, always, no matter what. This location is very nice. It was our first time here as we live near their now closed Fort Worth location, but the 28 mile drive was well worth it. Super easy to get in and out, immediately on and off I35, even easier than their prior Heritage location. We will be back. No joke, Houlihans is our youngest daughter's favorite. Every Bday meal this is where she picks. Their kid's taco bowl is really cool and she thinks it's special. Only minor gripe is that the server, although nice, wasn't quite as attentive as I like, but still a great meal, super nice service and the restaurant was taking measures to seat and serve safely for COVID-19 needs. Great job!
Wonderful fresh food. Table service was prompt and friendly. Restaurant was very clean, with employees bustling around wiping surfaces. When Covid over, will definitely return.
Outstanding in all regards! High quality food, menu with variety, EXCELLENT service and amazing location if you're staying at the Embassy. Truly enjoyed the visit!
The service and ambiance were great. The food was good but was a pricey for the portion size and quality.
Clean, inviting environment. Host and server were very efficient!!!
Food is very eclectic. Drink are fantastic and service impeccable! We visit often!
Good location in Denton and easily accessible. Nice to be close to a movie theatre and in a nice hotel.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service however, we would like to see more vegan options. The guacamole was awful. We asked to have the cheese removed but there was pieces of cheese in it. You should revamp the recipe.
Great place overall and we will be back!
Great place for a Valentine's Anniversary! We loved the 'shrooms and potato soup. The Valentine's menu was very good! My husband had the steak and I had the scallops, which I highly recommend. It was topped off with a luscious butter cake and ice cream. We loved it!
Thank you for the great review! So happy to hear you liked our Valentine's menu! Hope to see you again soon!
Excellent service & menu selection
After reading some reviews, we were a little hesitant. But, after we were seated and our waitress answered all our questions, we had a lovely evening. The fried shrimp was a little over cooked, but we had a great dinner.
We made a reservation for 20 and they placed us in a private room with a tv to watch the game. It was a very pleasant experience. Just make sure you aren't in a rush. We received our appetizers and hour and a half after being seated and it took around 20 min to receive each drink. The rest of the restaurant was pretty slow. Other than that, it was great. The food was amazingly delicious and the service staff was very nice.
Enjoy going here. The food is always good and great service.
We enjoyed the one near us in Alliance and were sad to see it close. The one in Denton is a longer drive, but we will definitely go there again. The staff was excellent and very welcoming. Food was great. It’s a bit far for us for happy hour, but their happy hour items are terrific as well so it might be worth the drive as well. Ahi tuna is the best!
The service was terrible. The waitress messed up and forgot orders and wouldn’t just admit simple mistakes and that she would make it right. She blamed the cooking times and messed up the orders she forgot to put in even then. Management just glazed over the issue and didn’t even come over to simply apologize. Expected much more from the location.
We picked Houlihan's in Denton for date night and I wasn't very impressed. The night we went several things went wrong. The first was I wanted Salmon and they were out of the sauce for it, the second issue was they were short handed so we had to order extra appetizers to make it until our food came out. Which means we had to pay more at the end of the night. For my appatizer I ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were really good then for my main meal I ordered the nachos on the appetizer list, and when I received it was highly disappointed, there was barely anything on them however there were a ton of plain nachos. The cheesecake was amazing I just wish it was a little bit bigger.
Started in the bar. The bartender waiting us was snobby and impatient, also was not willing to change one of the four TVs to the Texas game.
We moved to a table on the other side of the bar as they were willing to have both of those TVs on the game we requested. Our new server was great, food was good.
The Houlihan’s in Ft Worth was recently closed down. We went there at least once a week and always felt welcome by everyone every time we went. We had to drive 30 minutes to this Houlihan’s to use our gift cards. After we spend the rest of our $100 gift certificates we will more than likely be done with Houlihan’s.
I wish servers would not bring the entree while you are still eating first course.
Meh. Food was only so-so, warning sign should have been the hiring for chef’s at the entrance to the restaurant.
We enjoyed our dinner! The service was good, we weren’t rushed, and the food was good too. They were out of some of the things that we had planned to order (short rib lasagna, one of the desserts), so that seemed a little weird on a Friday night. But a good experience anyway. We’ll go back-
Food was good service was slow
Took an hour & half to get my burger. Was there for a college graduation lunch. We had a party of 8 & everyone got there food but myself. They did comp my meal but pretty bad that it took an hour & half for a cheeseburger.
For a large party we only had one meal not prepared correctly but the service staff made it right and we had a great time! Highly recommend
The menu selections and food at this restaurant are great for its price point. Everyone in my group of seven enjoyed their meal, especially those who got the chicken parmesan. The only feedback that prevented a five on the rating was that the service was a bit slow. All in all it was a good experience and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a step up from Chilis (which is nearby) or for someone interested in a relaxing, moderately quiet atmosphere.
Great food. Nice atmosphere
Thank you so much for the 5 stars!
great food, great service! our server, Michael, was great and handled our large party with ease and a great attitude! will come back!
Overall, it was OK .... overpriced for what you get .... ambiance is nice and quiet.
Great service, excellent food and atmosphere. We initially had a reservation for 7:45 pm after my daughter’s graduation. However, her graduation ended early and they were able to seat us (a party of 8) 45 mins early. Food was excellent and the service fast and friendly. Would highly recommend and will be back.
This was the perfect location for a small gathering after a graduation at UNT. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Had to wait way too long for a refill on tea. The restaurant is part of the Embassy Suites. Menu is the same as other Houlihan's.
We had a great time! They ran out of baked potatoes but substituted with loaded mash potatoes. The service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back!:)
It's great to have a place that invites us to taste the best food in North Texas. The House Salad is great!
the filet, the cocktails and the dessert SUPREME!
