Houlihan's - Denton
great food, great service! our server, Michael, was great and handled our large party with ease and a great attitude! will come back!
Overall, it was OK .... overpriced for what you get .... ambiance is nice and quiet.
Great service, excellent food and atmosphere. We initially had a reservation for 7:45 pm after my daughter’s graduation. However, her graduation ended early and they were able to seat us (a party of 8) 45 mins early. Food was excellent and the service fast and friendly. Would highly recommend and will be back.
This was the perfect location for a small gathering after a graduation at UNT. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Had to wait way too long for a refill on tea. The restaurant is part of the Embassy Suites. Menu is the same as other Houlihan's.
We had a great time! They ran out of baked potatoes but substituted with loaded mash potatoes. The service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back!:)
It's great to have a place that invites us to taste the best food in North Texas. The House Salad is great!
the filet, the cocktails and the dessert SUPREME!
It was very easy to talk and be heard because it wasn’t very loud. Our food came out sporadically but once we received it all it was good.
If you have not tried the pot roast with mashed potatoes, HMG. The head chef John came out to chat with us and described how their potatoes were made so silky smooth, with everything made from scratch in house the flavor and quality show. THe tomato basil soup is a great add also.
Our group had an awesome experience at Houlihan’s. The service and food was amazing. The Manager, Rachel was personable and helpful. Will book again!
People nice, food good, but wine is pricey. Also, air conditioning was pretty much non-existent. I spoke with manager who said a/c was tied in with hotel and therefore could not be adjusted. This made the experience somewhat miserable.
Table was ready on time and service was awesome. We had a great time.
This Houlihans is real nice. The atmosphere is real why I was interested in coming. Something really different then the Denton usual night out. This place makes you feel upscale. I'm going to go again real soon. I enjoyed myself. The food was okay.
We met friends at Houlihans for drinks and dinner. The atmosphere was perfect. We could hear each other talk and the waiter was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We found the price to be reasonable, especially for the quality. We will return soon.
When we arrived at this location, it wasn't clear who was supposed to help us as the host was gone. The hostess station was not immediately inside the door so it was unclear what we were supposed to do. When the host finally approached us, I mentioned that I had a reservation with Open Table but he seemed not to care and just seated us somewhere. He never even commented on what I'd said so I'm not sure if using Open Table at this location even matters. Besides that, the waitress was perfectly attentive, the food was delicious and the energy was great. Perfect place to hang with friends on a Friday night.
Food and service were fantastic. We came here for a late Valentine’s date and we’ll definitely be back.
Bartenders were slow to respond and drinks are way over priced. A glass of wine should not cost $14. Food was very good minus the steak. Will go back but will tailgate with more affordable wine before going in to be seated
There is no walkway from the parking lot to the restaurant. You have to walk through the shrubs or go all the way around. The hosts/hostesses are attentive, as soon as you walk in. They have a decent kids' menu. We ordered the Chicken stir fry, but the broccoli doesn't comes fresh, with no steaming or cooking. I ordered the bbq cheeseburger and my husband the chicken sandwich. Both were good and seasoned well. The Old fashioned he ordered was on point. The spiked lemonade I ordered tasted like regular lemonade, though it had 3 liquors in it. I can't say it snuck up on me, because I never felt it. We brought our own cheesecake as we were celebrating my husband's birthday. They were supposed to bring it out as a surprise, but "forgot," so the surprise was blown. Overall, we'll be back!
great food and service ! never been here before but will definitely be back !
Great food, stellar cocktails, wonderful service.
Thank You! Hope to see you again soon!
Loved it! Great service, great food, and great drinks!
Thank you for taking the time to review us, and thank you even more for the 5 stars!
Started with not having our reservation. Hostess said reservation was at lunch, my email said otherwise. Understaffed, took 20 minutes just to get drinks. Food was not good, steak was tough and had no flavor. Out of deserts. Got pecan pie which was cold. Was not offered our end of meal champagne toast for New Years. Won’t be going back anytime soon. Very disappointing.
The restaurant has an attractive contemporary design. Business casual. I had the Ahi Tuna appetizer & Filet Mignon, my wife had the house salad and Saint Georges Scallops. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Only draw back was a shortage of waitstaff, (all hands were on deck) and limited choices on deserts due to the kitchen not being ready.(it was New Years eve after all)
Over all, a good experience, we would go back.
Even with a reservation -we did not get a table for 20 or so minutes. Food cold, server was no where to be found, it took some one in our group to speak to the manager. Hair in the food. Looked like the servers were not trained or the hostist experienced. VERY slow service.
Wonderful meal. Great service, great night!
We go to Houlihan’s for the ‘Shrooms, our all-time favorite appetizer!
Service was good. Our group found the menu lacking for choices and the food that we did choose was fair at best. Service was good but the menu lacked selection and imagination. If an eatery chooses to be fairly limited in their selections, those items should be generous, imaginative and prepared extremely well. I think they could do better.
We celebrated our son's graduation from UNT over the weekend. He has been to Houlihan's and suggested it for our party of 8. Reservations were easy to make. The ambiance is modern yet very comfortable and intimate. Our party was seated quickly and our waitress was attentive and hospitable. I ordered a 6 oz top sirloin steak and it was not ready when the meals came out. This is what impressed me: the manager came to our table and discreetly told me of this, but he had a plate in hand with a filet mignon in its place with my steak to follow. I was confused at first, but he was so nice and said this was on the house for our trouble. So, I got a better cut of meat cooked the way I wanted it at not extra cost. This was impressive. I wasn't even bothered as I was having a good time celebrating with family! Incidentally, the sirloin did follow and it was equally as delicious. Hats off to Houlihans. The drinks were good - my husband loves stout craft beers and he had a local stout. One of our sons ordered a craft beer from tap that he said was great, too. Their fish and chips are excellent. The garlic green beans are tender and savory.
Food was good but small portions, waitress was good but other service members not so friendly. Wouldn’t go back.
Went to restaurant two times prior to our special occasion to confirm reservation and table placement. When we arrived at restaurant at night of occasion, no tables were reserved. Once we were seated, service was unacceptably slow. One of our party didn't get served until everyone was finished with their meals. Manager and waitstaff were extremely disorganized and unable to accommodate our small group. What should have been a night of celebration turned into a night of embarrassment.
I went for my birthday dinner and was a bit disappointed. We ordered soup as an appetizer and it never came out. When I pointed this out to staff as our dinner was brought out, we were told they could still bring it out, I declined. I ordered a steak cooked medium and it came out medium well. The sweet potato fries were good, fish and chips, ordered by my husband were decent. We ordered the brownie sundae for dessert and it was good, but would be even better with a warm, rather than cool brownie.
Houlihan's was in the Embassy Suites Hotel. All employees were friendly, the service was attentive, and the food was good. Very nice and quiet place for a pleasant dinner.
My wife and I really enjoyed Houlihan’s (Denton). The food was very good, nice ambience and decor, and the staff was very down to earth and helpful. My only complaint (and this isn’t a huge deal) is that this location is a franchise of the restaurant, so they don’t carry the same deals and promotions as the chain locations. So the promotion I received about a certain dish that was being served for a limited time wasn’t offered there. But no biggee, the food my wife and I ate was fantastic. Great place!
The ambiance and location are very good it is located in the new Embassy Suites and Convention Center. This made it easy to entertain guests staying at the hotel. But, the service delivery was chaotic. First, the server brought someone else's food (the table behind us) to us... this is an understandable mistake. But, then our food arrived warm rather than hot. The food is very much like the type you would get from a frozen dinner. For example, the asparagus was over-cooked and the "rice" was a lumpy mess. The entrees were tasty, but two of the steaks were overdone (not as ordered) and my guest said the fish did not taste fresh.
We love Houlihan’s.
This is a new Houlihan's in Denton, TX. We have previously dined at other Houlihan's, mostly at the location in Ft. Worth. We met friends for a Saturday early evening dinner. The drinks were great and fun (although a little pricey) and the food was awesome. I usually order the scallops and they were as good as they always are. Everyone else enjoyed the food they ordered as well. Service was great - very friendly and attentive. This location seemed a little quieter, even when it began to get crowded. It was very easy to have conversation with our friends. It is located inside the new Embassy Suites but does also have an outside entrance. However, visiting the Embassy Suites was enjoyable with their relaxing décor, waterfall, and people watching. Great place to meet friends or family for dinner or for just a couple date.
Elegant space, very good food, a memorable evening
We had a great time all of last week at the restaurant. Freeman was awesome. Never forgot our names (there were lots of us too for a training opening Torchy’s). Everyone was terrific. Elle was great, Michael was very accommodating, Justin was very fun, Hannah is a gem as well. I’ll truly miss it all now that I’m back in Austin. Bring us a Houlihan’s soon!!!
The food was excellent. The service was very friendly and fast. Very nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back again.
Good service. Food was delicious. I will be back!! The Ahi Tuna Salad with asisan dressing was sooo good!!
