It took 2.5 hours for 6 adults and 2 kids to eat dinner when the restaurant was completely empty. Definitely the worst Houlihan’s we’ve been to.
We had a nice time here celebrating an 85th Birthday!
Houlihans made my birthday special! Great food snd great service!
Tough to find a restaurant open on Christmas but luckily for us Houlihan's was opened and took reservations. It was a little chaotic when we walked in because a dozen folks were crowded around the check-in counter wanting their to-go orders. We got our table and quickly got waited on as they were closing soon. Our food came pretty quickly and other than the top of my veggie burger bun being hard as a brick, everything else was perfect. Gave the waitress an extra tip as we appreciated her working on Christmas.
The food was excellent. We chose their 3 course dinner plus an additional appetizer (calamari). Every bite we took was delicious and the price was more than fair. Not just the food itself truly impressed us, it was the lonesome worker named Jason who acted as our server. In fact, he was the bartender whose main job was to mix drinks and pour beer. When he had customers, he took orders. He was highly efficient running the bar and serving as a waiter and he cleared tables sometimes. He was this amazing one man band who did his job marvelously. We tipped generously. We would sure go back. This pandemic was killing the food industry and causing such low staff turnout. It made us sad that the surviving staff was so overworked and exhausted. I just hoped they got compensated REALLY well.
We went on Christmas and the food was DELICIOUS! The server was really nice and attentive and we had the perfect family dinner.
Good and friendly service even thought it was a holiday, enjoyed my time miss the one in Woodbridge/Edion area. We went offen and enjoyed it.
Food & service were great!
Our Christmas Eve dining experience was lovely. Service was great. Food timely and yummy. Staff pleasant. Overall, thumbs up
Excellent service. We were seated by host immediately. Adrian was pleasant knowledgeable and very attentive as our server. The food came out hot and was very good. The drinks were made perfectly by the bartender. We go every Christmas Eve and we were not disappointed.
Met friends for lunch. Unfortunately not good any longer. There was one other couple dining. Food was just ok, the waiter dropped a stemmed glass of iced sangria on the table which broke and got all of us wet. We had to change tables. I don’t see Houlihan’s staying around much longer. Too bad as it
Was always a great place.
Good service, appears to have been new server. Another server was not helpful when we asked for assistance and just walked away. Thanksgiving dining was excellent.
Tia was a wonderful server. She kept her eyes on us but was not intrusive, asking us something if she detected an issue (e.g., extra gravy). She was wonderful
Service has improved from our last visit, was a big issue in our previous visits hope it keeps improving.
This poor restaurant is dying. I don’t expect it to be around in another year. Myself and 6 family members arrived at 4:30pm for my nephews birthday(was specifies on the reservation). We were seated in a timely manner, but that’s it. We didn’t see a server until after 5 pm. At that point we put our entire order in. After about 40 minutes drinks began to trickle out, one was missing and some came that were not ordered. Took some time for correct drink to come out(all that was ordered were sodas, water and milk) after about 40+ more minutes only chips came out when soups and salads were also ordered but whatever there was food so we ate as we were very hungry and restless..forget about the refills we ordered as those were forgotten about an hour. Entrees were absolutely awful and my mothers did not come out until 30+ minutes after everyone else’s trickled out of the kitchen. Mine was freezing cold and very under cooked. My husbands was raw my nieces seemed to be old. I’m assuming there was cross contamination in the kitchen and once we were home my husband and I were running to the bathroom extremely sick along with my mother who called and told me the same. This place so understaffed that those who are working are just running around aimlessly not knowing where to even start. It was very sad. Working there in 07 was great but those memories were wiped away dealing with that disgusting mess I had to deal with and pay to get sick. It’s a shame.
We reserved a table for 9 on a Saturday night at 6:30, we quickly seated and waiter came over Rather quickly. All orders were correct and food was brought out in a timely fashion. Our waiter was fantastic and checked back frequently. Food was all good, no complaints. Would recommend
"Short of staff" is a frequently recurring message in chain restaurants and that is what we were greeted with-a line waiting to check in. So we went to the bar, where the friendly and attentive bartender got our drinks, asked if we were dining, and took us to a table in the bar. A good start.
Unfortunately, there were too many flies disturbing us during dinner. And despite the elegant photos and food descriptions on OT, this once upscale chain has joined the other chains in a race to the bottom. Food items were bland and not at all unique. How do you make a flavorless spinach-artichoke dip? And please don't get me started on the thin, broken chips served with it.
My wife's salmon entrée was at best mediocre. My burger was good and the fries arrived hot.
They did have several very nice wines by the glass, as well as a favorite single malt which I enjoyed.
It is highly doubtful we'd return to this restaurant.
Food is typically good. Service is always terrible. It always takes too long for someone to take your order. They take your drink order and then you sit there for 10 minutes waiting for the drinks. They never refill drinks unless you ask and then sometimes they remember but most times not so you have to go through the meal with an empty glass. It never seems like they have enough staff and those they do have disappear. Even when there are very few people in the place the service is poor.
To my utmost surprise, the front desk manager dishonestly charged us extra 1.5 times for food and drink $44.74+$2.96
On We ordered two ($10.00) Jalopeno stuffed Chicken dishes and a House drink ($5.00). The total is $25.00 +Tax.
They charged us $44.74 for food and drink + Tax, instead of $25.00.
When I complained, they reduced it to $30.66, still charging extra $3.75 for the drink.
It's a deliberate act which should never happen again.
This place should really close and reinvent itself with better quality of food, service and simply caring about their customers. Terrible experience for the second consecutive time. We will not go back!!
We go here slot. Took 20 minutes to get a server. We ran out of drinks and server was no where to be found. Food was not as good as usual. Everyone can have an off day but this was pretty frustrating. We watched some people walk in and walk out after not being served after 15 minutes.
Stakes were dry. Ribs not cooked properly, it was hot in the restaurant no option to change the table Service was very slow. Not the same restaurant we used to eat at all the time.
Nice happy hour. Kitchen service was slow due to staffing issues but bar service was quick. All food and drinks were very good.
Great food. Excellent service!
Took over one and a half hours to have lunch with just three of us, we all ordered hamburgers-all three orders (when they finally came out) were wrong. Also could not use our Landry’s gift card, which was one of the main reasons we went there.
We made a reservation for 5:30 on Mother's Day. We were seated in a reasonable time. We ordered quickly and our drinks & appetizers came quickly. That's the end of the good I can say about it.
After that, we waited almost another 1.5 hours until our food was served. Our server came by exactly ONCE during that time. We had no refills on our drinks, no free appetizers or snacks to tide us over until our food came out. Absolutely NOTHING. No visit from a manager.
We made an early reservation because it was a Sunday and I have school-aged children. We figured we would be done by 7 to get them home and bed to a reasonable time. By the time our food was served around 7:45, we essentially rushed a few bites, packed up and go home.
I was in tears for Mother's Day. It was so awful.
Was a good meal. Everything was tasty and the service was fast and friendly. The potato soup was really good. Will recommend and return.
Thank you! sheila (our waitress) for making our first trip dining in again a great night! 😍
Always a great meal with adult beverages!
Service was amazing snd the food was excellent, as we’ve come to expect!
As always enjoyed dinner. More noisy as restrictions lifted but great food at reasonable prices.
Houlihans has always been a good "go to" place to eat. The food is good as well as the service. But like all businesses they have been impacted by Covid so it was a little less, on the whole, of what we're used to. I won't go into the details because this experience is not the good service we usually get. Only one thing REALLY bugged me and that was getting served my burger and fries without any ketchup. Has never happened before, but they seemed to be short staffed and mistakes are made, but how the heck can you serve a burger without ketchup??? Had to ask for it and it was promptly brought over. No big deal. Otherwise, the experience was fine.
Everything was great!
Corned beef Reuben was absolutely DISGUSTING. Corned beef was thick and chewy and very skimpy. We will not be going back to Houlihans in the future. This was the 2nd time we had a DISGUSTING meal there. The last time we ordered salads and they looked as.if salads left from other patrons was put on plates and served to us
NOT AT ALL A FAN OF HOULIHANS!!!!!!!
Had a reservation for Valentine’s Day and found out upon arrival it was closed. No notification, call or email to alert of the closing. They closed at 3 and the reservation was for 7 pm. Very disappointed, would come here regularly.
Always a fine meal at reasonable cost. A local gem.
This is the second time we were seated on the bar side and found that the service was not as good. The waitress/bartender is not around as much. We ended up asking the people who brought our appetizers and entrees for appetizer plates, condiments, refills since that seemed to be how we could get the items we needed.
Have been going here for years, always a good meal. Menu is now cut down , understandably due to pandemic, but am missing some of the things I usually order. Service was very slow despite there being very few occupied tables. Will prob hold off until things improve to go back.
Service was slow. 15 minutes to take a drink order; another 15 to get the drinks. 45 minutes to tell us there were no more baked potatoes. Food was relatively cold when it came out. The manager comped us one meal. No reason you shouldn’t have enough staff working when you are seating less people. Obviously not enough kitchen help or servers working.
We had Jeremiah as our server and he is amazing. He brought us drink refills before our drinks were even empty. He brought out condiments before we got our entrees (which is a plus since I don’t like to wait for condiments while my food is getting cold). Jeremiah’s attentiveness is a huge plus which enhanced our dining experience! The food was good too!
