We have eaten her a number of times and have loved it every time. We have travelled from Geelong just to come here.
Heaps of meat free choices for good friday. Well done
Where do I start? Advised on arrival there is no table or drink service. Seemed to be plenty of staff arranging flowers in vases though. Dirty menus, empty plates & glasses not removed until asked, new cutlery had to be requested and was dumped in front of one guest, salad to share arrived with no salad servers, chips to share arrived 10 minutes after mains served. Our table of 9 spent a lot of money and would have spent a lot more had the service been better. Poor.
Great space with lovely views and great food. Higher lighting would help as most tables used torch on phone to read menus
Food and service is normally ok...but out of 6 main course orders the one chicken schnitzel was terrible and food all at different times! I was given an immediate refund on a soggy, tasteless and burnt peice of chicken. The staff need to raise a smile too
The Sorrento Hotel is a beautiful venue with many different dining areas to suit your needs. We had a lovely quiet secluded area which was great for my dad who is hard of hearing . I chose this venue online because of the interesting menu and the comfortable looking chairs. The barramundi meals were absolutely delicious and I will be going back again from Geelong
Very bland food, most local pubs would knock them for six for flavour and quality
My two friends a I dinned here for lunch this week and the food was really underwhelming. Two of us ordered the Bombay Chicken Curry with rice and papadum. They must have waved the curry power over it as it was tasteless, cold and greasy. The papadum disintegrated in your fingers it was so thin. The other meal was a beef salad and while my friend said it was "okay" she had had much better. So disappointed, as the decor and view was excellent, but I will not be returning to dine there.
Really enjoyed the seafood platter. Very fresh & great flavours
We went to the hotel for my birthday lunch and found it to be average. We were slightly disappointed as we really expected more from the food. It was bland and expensive for the fact it lacks any flavour.
Staff were really good - very friendly and lovely to deal with.
Beautiful Hotel, perfect location, fantastic spot for a gathering of friends
$40 for a meat platter that was the smallest quantity of meats and cheeses - the cheeses were average and not large enough with not enough for $40.
Very good food but lacks the setting of its competitor at Portsea. More of a winter place
Great Food as Usual
Very disappointed in meals. Ratios in meals were way out. Ordered the seared tuna and the lamb shank.
The tuna was very small and only seared on one side so quite tough to cut and eat. Accompaniments were very small amounts. Most of the bowl was bean shoots. The lamb shank was predominantly mash potato. No greens or other vegies. Quite pricey too for what we got. Won’t be going back.
Disappointing this time- was there 12 months ago (2018) and the food was lovely
this time Seafood platter for 2 on Specials when I went to order at 1245 was informed its not available sold out
Had Seafood Linguine with 3 mussels 3 very small prawns the fish appeared to be like remnants of fish just thrown in only 2 large pieces
Husband had flake and chips in his words it was just ordinary
The quality of food was very poor this time
wont be going back
I believe its changed hands in past year
The updated interior is lovely and with wide sea views from our table. The food was good, plentiful and fresh. The staff were lovely and helpful and checked we were ok several times during our meal. The chicken parmigiana was huge, salad and chips fresh. The grilled barramundi was the better choice, lovely flavours. Good choice of drinks too.
Great lunch and dinner with a nice view and good service.
Consistently good food
Special lunch with my best friend of some 40+ years. The food was lovely & the staff were very friendly & helpful.
Lovely ambience amazing ocean views ! Will be back.
Excellent venue with very good food and beverage list further enhanced by very friendly and efficient staff and all at a very reasonable price.
It's a great pub. Great food, service outstanding and great views... great for a drink upstairs at Salt Bar too. Ambience lovely.
14 of us enjoyed a fantastic lunch and after lunch went into the bar where there was great entertainment.
Absolutely loved it.
Had a great night! Great food, great service, excellent value for money. The staff were excellent and made us feel welcomed and important!
Excellent variety on menu. The quantity of some food items served was very different in size from others - e.g. the crispy pork belly was much smaller than the snapper, or the calimari. This is not apparent when choosing from the menu and is undesirable.
Great pub except for being stuck on a table in the entrance. Trying to fit as many in as possible.
The food was good, with the chilli nicely integrated with the seafood marinara, and the churros in the dessert plate were particularly good. The service was very friendly.
Extremely noisy in the dining area. We are quickly and left. It was a Saturday night but still, it would be nice to be able to hear your dinner companion when talking.
Food was average and not great value for money. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes.
great atmosphere good food
We had a disappointing experience. We were seated at our table&left to it..only when we were asked to move tables that someone explained that there was no table service &we needed to order one place for drinks &queue at another place to put food order in.Fine, but then this place is confused.Plenty of staff walking around collecting glasses or not doing much at all that we thought would actually be better placed taking table orders. We felt as if they were doing us a favour ‘allowing’us to dine.
Disappointed stuck in internal room ( table 309 ) even though we had booked more than 4 months ahead. Otherwise upto the usual standard (we have been coming for New Years lunch for many years).
The food was below average and on the expensive end. Kids menu is good. Service was very average.
Fantastic experience from booking through to meal. Very enjoyable
Great food, ambience & view. Pity a few of the staff (not all) aren’t very friendly - obviously entitled children grown into adults
I reckon we got the best table in the restaurant. It was positioned further down, outdoors but undercover and we could look out over the bay. Our interstate family were absolutely delighted. We all ordered seafood for mains and it was superb.
A GREAT PLACE. FANTASTIC OUTLOOK. AMAZING VIEWS.
FRIENDLY AND WELL TRAINED STAFF.
Good menu and range of cold beers.
Food was great and we had a great time.
Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. I ordered the seafood linguine with a white wine base. It was so greasy that there was a large amount of oil sitting in the bowl once I finished the dish ($32). My partner had the lamb shanks ($28) which lacked in flavour and our friend had the ribs which were accompanied with an odd coleslaw type salad and rice - again lacking flavour and that finger licking stickiness you expect with ribs. The food was OK but I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend, especially given the inflated pricing for what was essentially average pub fare.
