   Sunday night dinner, was quiet and nice. Not too full. Almost got scared off by the recent bad reviews, however had to pay a deposit for the booking so we went anyway. the pizza was great, the open lamb suva was great as well. Service was quick and friendly. Not sure what happened on all those bad reviews. Food was great maybe becuase it was a slow and quiet night. Would go again.

   Frangos has great atmosphere and friendly staff, but we were very disappointed with the food. Our meals were cold and very basic and not cheap!

   Soooo expensive for such ordinary everything . Don’t eat here! Food was ordinary and soooo overpriced . Might as well as stayed at home and made myself a sandwich . So average. Also the bathrooms smelled sooo bad that some of us chose to wait until we got elsewhere instead . This app usually recommends really nice spots but this didn’t add up

   Very downmarket offering. I remember wonderful dining at Frangos and Frangos. Hadn’t realised those days are gone. My fault. Just wasn’t aware they had reduced their offering to the lowest denomination. Such a shame for such a wonderful building which in the right hands could punch so much above its weight.

   Restaurant was tired looking and floors quite dirty. Not any instructions on how to order which meant we waited 20 minutes for a waiter to tell us. Food was average and generally noisy.

    the atmosphere, decor and setup is awesome. the menu was a bit confused - mainly italian then a couple of random items. only one pasta dish. not enough food options. we ordered french fries and got chips. and two pizzas - very average. for the price and setup of the place we expected woodfire pizzas. they weren’t - very average bases and the toppings didnt save them. there were like 3 olives and 1 artichoke on the capriciosa. underwhelming. staff were lovely. toilets were disgusting. this place has heaps of potential but was disappointing for us.

    Great space and visually pleasing, food was disappointing for the price. Pizza was mediocre at best and would be better off ordering something from Dominos.

    The waiter kept telling jokes which was fun the first couple of times but didn’t know when to stop. If he spent more time serving us and doing his actual job then the jokes wouldn’t have been so tedious. There weren’t very many guests at all and yet we had to wait over 10 mins for our bottle of wine. The menu was extremely minimal which made us think they would perfect the meals but sadly not… Food was mediocre and our chocolate fondant was dumped in front of us. We then had to ask a waiter for a spoon. The texture was like rubber and it was obvious it had been microwaved. Once cut open, nothing oozed out and by this stage we were totally over it all. We returned the dessert as we simply weren’t willing to pay the $16 they were asking for it…. We were highly disappointed as this was a very rare girls night out.

    Lovely staff. Food selection was a bit limited but catered to most dietary requirements which was good. We sat outside therefore had to QR code order and pay at the table, which was convenient. Only drawback was food service. Forgot the cutlery, but aside from this a really nice spot.

    Menu options are fairly limited. Tables are cramped close together leading to a lack of privacy. Food was delicious.

    My wife and I went to the locals night, staff were very friendly and the food was well presented and very scrumptious. The bonus was a free red wine with your meal.

    Very few menu options available for dinner. No pastas or risotto dishes, only 4 pizza choices, very limited. Also no coffee available after 4.00pm!?! Why when open for dinner….

    Menu did not offer a range of items - quite limited. Also it was in the high priced and it didn't even offer table service. The place was very noisy and because all doors were open, we were inundated by flies. Although it's an iconic Daylesford restaurant, I'd skip it.

    Disappointed. Offered a table right by the door asked for another and ended up in a dark thoroughfare. Limited menu but have to appreciate the challenges hospos are going through. Service was odd, told to order via QR code then asked what we wanted to order, just confusing.

    Very disappointed with our dinner experience! We ordered wine with our pasta main, but we had finished our pasta without the wines arriving! I told the waiter to cancel the wines because we wanted them with dinner! Poor service by the staff!

    No table service and orders taken through app. Staff congregate at the bar and laugh and carry on loudly. Very unprofessional and gives the impression that they have nothing to do or couldn't care less about the customers. I also think payment and tips should not be made before any service or meal given. Glad I didn't leave a tip as service and food did not warrant recognition. Food below average, particularly the rubbery calamari with tastless undercooked batter. My partner did think the steak was ok.

    Food ordering was through the app. We waited about 25 minutes for our coffee and our food still hasn’t arrived nor had the water i asked for. After checking with with the manager our order for food didn’t go through. The manager was apologetic and We did get our food shortly after. However the service was way to slow but this could be down to shortages of staff with Covid.

    Went up for one night stay at Frangos and specifically for dinner at what has been an institution in Daylesford. Booking for 6.30. Power goes out just before. Told out for three hours. After asking a few questions get asked why we cannot just sit and wait quietly for 2 hours……seriously?!!??. Barman less than helpful and quite rude. Power comes back on after 20mins and we come back down. Sorry kitchen closed for the night, you could try Coles!! We are now flabbergasted! We go o the Royal Hotel, excellent service by the warm and friendly staff! Really caught Frangos on a really, really bad night, but no reason for the dreadful customer service for both accomodation or dining.

    Power went out which was not their fault. But staff handled it very unprofessionally, no communication about what they were going to do. The staff were loud and just laughed with each other and gossiped. No masks worn by half of the staff. They left us in the dark and served us with food and no option of candles or to move to a table with more light. Food was tasty and decent value for money

    Meal was overpriced for what was served. The linguine was $37 for the meal. We got an entrey size, very dry & bland. My open souvlacki was on old dry pita bread which fell apart & again bland. Serving size was okay. The entrey was served at the same time as the main meal had to eat it at the same time. Overall bad meals at overpriced cost. I have since spoken to locals & they agreed with me & would not recommend you place. I will never eat or recommend your place to anyone.

    Great atmosphere. The outdoor area is amazing and comfortable. Relaxing and inviting. The food and drinks came fast and where thoroughly enjoyed. Our waiter was amazing. Very friendly, attentive and helpful.
